I really like this idea. It would give Data Sites more value to run if they were the only location to obtain them aside from Dead space itself.
+1 to this. One BS taking a lot of time to shoot is relevant in open space, because a player can be āinterfered withā while focused on a single target, but since PvP can only happen at the entry / exit point, splitting HP walls into 2-4 targets is more interesting.

So, I did notice that the abyssal modules break the simulation window. If you get a fit from someone that has one of those modules in it, it just doesnāt load half the fit. It should just ignore the module and place the base module on the fit instead.

@Muon_Farstrider This actually seems like a nice way of balancing out drone boats. As far as I can tell, every other weapon system can be negatively affected in these sites, so it makes sense for drones to suffer some adversity as well.
Just finished a T2 rift (oops) after the last SISI restart/update. Got some stuff I have not gotten before, T3 āFierceā filament, 10 run Large Entropic Disintegrator I BPC that can be researched to T2 and a couple of āUnstableā mutaplasmids.
I donāt necessarily disagree with the idea of having something that disadvantages droneboats. I was personally somewhat disappointed at realizing that this was yet more content that (at least at first glance) favored the use of a VNI or similar, and I wouldnāt mind at all having stuff designed in such a way that a droneboat isnāt the optimal choice for once. But I think it should be done intentionally, rather than through obviously broken mechanics that render drones unable to correctly recall to your ship. If we want to de-incentivize the use of drones, it should be through designing the sites such that drones arenāt the ideal weapon or through a penalty specifically aimed at drones, not just through unintentionally rendering them nonfunctional with glitchy broken mechanics via something intended to be a bonus.

Just got some random dude in the same abyssal pocket as me for the last room. CCPlease
yesterday my ship disappeared completely and I had to pod myself. Yay beta testing! wheeeeee!
So from what i see
- tier 1 abyssal deads are just go straight and dont worry
- tier 2 little more enemies, occasionally tower close enought to that path so you need to take it into consideration
- tier 3 a lot harder, towers even in pair on important places so you need to manuver (thats ok and i think its cool) but enemies are the problem, drifter battleship sniping hard and those cruisers with scram are pain in the arse
Feedback:
- tier 1 one should be a little easier so even alpha can do them in not so great skills and fit (too much drones which are orbiting too fast) but also more interesting (which path should also be for higher tiers), get silo not always on path into gate, why always silo? Maybe drop from ship, maybe shoot some suspicious looking rock or trigger some two things (just very obvious puzzle), or just approach something for research and this will spawn enemies or activate gate
- tier 2 feels good
- tier 3 i was in ishtar and on second pocket with drifter bs and 5 cruisers i fail, now i think that probably fitting oversized AB or some ded repper would make the job, or sniping bs from wardens (also would take ages). Letās say itās in some way hard but doable with proper fit, gimmick on grid (which is super cool) and knowing what to expect more or less. Or just get shiny fit and should be no problem. But overall i would tone it a just a little down so t2 fitted ishtar wont be so masacrated on way, i like that drifter cruisers ware hitting my medium drones but not so hardly that they pop them or i was unable to concentrate on manuvering etc
Maybe overall heavy missile cruiser would be the way on this one hmm, if thats the case then ok itās cool to not have one ship to run all tiers
Overall i think that pattern of difficulty level by far is good, need some slightly adjustments, probably 4 and 5 will require gimmick and shiny fit which is also good, but pls CCP add more variety of gameplay to all sites especially tier 1 and 2
Hi all ! I have tested today this update and I have a couple quastions, would be greate to have some answer from DEV`s. So:
- Is it final version of what we will got in release ?
- Are you sure about restrictions for those new ships and modules. As far as I can see there is no access to any new futures except making this sites, for Alpha Clones ? (And, surprise, but alpha clones are also part of community, wich means that this update in 90% only for Omegas)
- You can make from faction module module wich will have stats more then Officer ones.
- Will be there any future content for Alpha clones with this update ?
- If those ships and modules are not available for Alpha clones, can you move them to T2
s or T3
s, because now they are in Faction slot. Which basically doesnāt make a sense, ship which have stats almost the same as other faction ships, but alphas just donāt have access to them for no reason. - Maybe you can make this skill available for alphas, but with restrictions (like you can learn it to maximum 2 lvl) ?
My position why im worried so much about alpha clones is that I have friends, who came to game around 1 month ago, and it looks like there is no content for alphas in this update, because at least you need to have Omega skill set to be able successful pass those sites. So, what I will say to them, like, āHey dude, itās a cool game, but in next update there will be no content for you until you buy bunch of plex/skill injectors/etc.ā

With close combat fits NPC battleships fly out of grid and out of boundry. Npcs donāt die to boundry but you do and I keep dying to it because Npc battleships fly out of the arena and I have to follow to apply dps ā¦
Has anyone tried the tier 5 abyssal sites? or tier 4? completely different compared to the originals. FIrst the automata suppressor towers are spawning out of bounds, so it is almost impossible to rely on them. Second the hit to the resistance is quite high, so It seems that youāll have to build a ship, maybe buffer tanked for these higher end ones. The drones are nasty because they take awhile to pop, probably gonna need smart bombs or something to kill them.
Some thoughts here, Iād like to see a timer that lets me know how long I have to be in there, its easy to lose track of time which results in the loss of your ship. I donāt like how it is 20 minutes for the entire run, I would prefer the timer to reset when you move to a new area in the pocket.
