Abyssal Deadspace now live on Singularity for testing

so far I’ve been unable to activate these within 100km of any celestial, and I’m pretty sure the devs said you can’t activate them within tether range for this very reason.

As CCP Paradox mentioned in the opening post, “Restrictions on the use of Filaments have not been finalized”, so what you are seeing in on Singularity right now is still WIP

I did some sites.
In a t2 filament i got a drifter bs inside. It was already damaged ( 1/4 shield armor and hull remaining) but the damages on the hull appeared only after i killed his shields. IDK if it’s working as intended

Is there going to be a limit. to how many people can enter abyssal deadspace in a certain area? because otherwise it can be centralized to a single grid by nullsec alliances, and how precisely do you kill a passive gila under fax reps on grid with a couple of HAW titans?

Do you know what the plan is for seeding filaments to hacking sites? It would make more sense to seed them to data sites (which CCP has been trying to make more attractive to players for years with limited success), which would also open up seeding them to ghost sites and Sleeper Caches (seither of which really need to be more lucrative, but which make sense lore-wise (?).

Putting them in Monuments and Temples and the like that players already use a lot, rather than research outposts that players don’t use much, seems … suboptimal.

As mentioned earlier in this thread by myself, the Tier 1 filaments are in Data Sites right now on Singularity.

Fit a web, it will greatly improve the drones damage application.
Do you run active tank? I was flying a random Ishtar fit, everything was smooth until i met 4 neut Battleships and a Drifter. By the time i killed the neut BS i was already in structure with no cap and the Drifter killed me. :smiley:

hello there, I have 2 questions:
We know the multiplasmide are droping a way to much actualy on sisi.
Does anyone know what the loot will be? maybe the lowest multiplasmide will begin to drop from tier 3 or higher for exemple.

And anyone did a tier 3 pocket? I did several tier 1 and 2 but never find the item to entrer into tier 3

For me, it doesn’t seem possible to orbit the battleship rats. when I try to orbit the, my ship just flies off in a random direction.

Nothing is known except that the loot is not final.

I had no problems orbiting enemy ships and getting under the guns of battleships I encountered. But I was flying in a vigilant with a web, so the battleship was not moving fast at all. Usually when within the ideal range of npcs, t hey will try to get distance, so that behaviour makes sense. Ideally they wouldn’t enter the dead zones, but it might be a viable tactic for them if they can put more strain on your tank than is added to theirs this way.

I’m in a Deimos, but it’s very weird, when I give the command to Orbit, even if they are under a web; my ship just flies off in a random direction. I double checked my orbit distance, and it is only 2k; so my ships behavior is very odd. it’s happened every time I’ve tried to orbit one of the battleships.

I would like to suggest that the choice of bonus for the ‘dark’ abyss pockets be revisited, as the velocity bonus interacts with drones in a rather broken way.

With the 50% velocity bonus, light drone MWD speeds on a bonused hull like a VNI can become so high that they continually slingshot way past their destination and are incapable of ever reaching it. This means that they become essentially incapable of attacking targets, as they never get close enough for their MWDs to shut down and start actually tracking - this is especially problematic as light drones are pretty much the only way to kill the tiny enemy rogue drones if the pocket doesn’t spawn a point defense tower. Even more brokenly, however, this also applies to trying to recall them - they often end up circling your ship in an endless MWD racetrack unable to actually get close enough to despawn back into the drone bay!

I don’t think it makes sense for something intended as a bonus to essentially break a weapon system this way, so I’d suggest that either something other than velocity be used for these pockets, or that the bonus be made to not apply to drones.

What I’ve gathered so far:

  • The sites still feel incredibly empty. If there is only 1 ship, make the initial spawn be closer to that ship
  • Having a fixed timer that is non-interactive feels bad too. Because at one point you just have no chance to do anything anymore - Maybe make it so that killing enemies extends the timer by a few seconds (less signatures slow down the collapse) - This would make having a DC less punishing because if you perform well you could save yourself still.
  • The way loot works feels… boring - I don’t want to shoot a structure, I want to shoot Triglavians and Drifters. - Why not allow every Drifter, Triglavian ship to drop something appropriate to their size - and reward players for actually destroying the Structures like the buff tower or drone killers. They have a lot of HP - so reward those players that perform well and have extra time.
  • More enemies but not like the rogue drone pockets - Instead of having 1 BS with lots and lots of HP, why not 3 or 4 Cruisers/Battlecruisers - Makes it harder to evade damage because there are multiple targets but also is way more interesting than orbiting and waiting for 2 minutes.

That’s basically the issues I have with those sites. I also don’t think that merely upping damage/hp numbers makes for more interesting encounters and hope that the high level sites will be very interesting to fly

Is this from tier 1? or is the experience the same in all tiers? because at fanfest they said there will be situations where drifters are fighting trigs and there is the potential for a 3 way battle. I’d have to assume we may not see the real good stuff until you get to the higher tiers.

That being said. I have had an encounter where the camera shake was so out of control when entering the abyssal dead space that the work around for me was to turn it off. I am not sure how to reproduce the bug. has anyone else run into this?

I’d also like to point out that Heavy assault ships just rofl stomp these places, but only tier 1 and tier 2 have been attempted from me. I wasn’t expecting them to be that difficult so I"m not too surprised they are easy.

Us older players are going to have an easy time with this stuff, you have to admit, having a 120mill + pilot vs a 5 mill pilot is hard to balance in terms of difficulty and accessibility for something that is designed around solo play. looking forward to trying more later on. I personally have been enjoying this so far. I only wish that some of these environments will eventually come to the rest of the game in a non-instanced fashion.

I would also like to see weaker version of the Tier 1 Effects to become static in various systems. The Plasma Firestorm for example. Having a system in which armor ships will always have increased raw HP and everyone has reduced thermal resists. I like the idea.
But those system must also put severe limitations on citadels, so that people can’t simply put in a keepstar and defend it with unkilable armor fleets.

It should make for interesting spots where people fly different ships, but can’t permanently live in there so they have to travel outside of it. where their fits become easy to counter.

that would be neat. Not to tread too far off topic but i personally like the idea of some of these as weather events that could happen randomly in any given system. Electrical and fire storms from some kind of coronal mass ejection from a star or something. Just me.

Anyway. Are higher tier sites available or do they drop? I do wonder if maybe ship restrictions should depend on the tier that they go in, like tier 1 have tighter restrictions than 2 and so on. Because if you can fly a hac, like say the ishtar. prepare to be amazed at how easy it is to farm these.

Did anyone get anything better than lvl 2 yet all I get droped is 1 and 2 keys
