questions about the new trig thing

  1. no exit. and i can’t see the timer. so the conclusion i’m coming to is you either win or die.
    -is this correct? or is there a way to exit?
    if you run out of time you die?

  2. will the actual trigs be as powerful as these drones? and as numerous?

  3. web drones seem bugged, they yellow boxed, but never actually red boxed until all other hostiles were dead

  4. …allies? blue drones…but these blue drones shoot me. and it gives me a warning if i try to shoot back. meanwhile my own drones have no issues shooting back on their own.

  5. do these items to enter expire?

  6. any idea how we’ll aquire them

  7. the GM on test server said “just tech 2 and pirates right now”. implying we could see other ships to enter?

  8. will there be this many small drones in the real thing? cause cruiser weapons with the exception of rapid lights suck on them. so it encourages drone boats…or rapid light cruisers

  • 6 runs so far, made it 3-4 gates each time. and i’ve only seen ONE battleship drone…total. every other thing has been non stop small drones. i feel like i should be flying a destroyer
  1. my drones keep changing targets on their own…before the one i assigned them to is dead.

Successfully completed tier 1-4 with a t2 fit phantasm. None of them were particularly easy. Got out in half structure on the 4. I like that I had to use a different strategy per room, and different strategies per tier. They really test a pilot’s skill, not his wallet (200m ship). I don’t see your run-of-the-mill nullsec ratter being able to do these. Well done CCP.

I’m not crazy about the idea of entering a system full of pilots in an “unreachable dimension”, but it’s definitely a fun side game. I feel it should be it’s own game, and not incorporated into the EVE universe… but that’s just me.

That is my main concern about this new PVE activity, I focus mostly on Tier 3 with intent to test both Eagle and Cerberus.

My impression so far:
Eagle are useless with Railgun and forced to depend on drones to clear room as all enemy target are 25m sig @1000-1500m/s

Blaster Eagle may be doable with excellent piloting to balance out tracking speed, but reality is that other ships are more effective.

Rapid Light Cerberus - I am simple speechless as how strong it perform in Tier 3 Abyssal deadspace. Only thing that is annoying about flying RLML Cerberus is waiting for Reloading on Rapid Launcher.

While I haven’t testing Gila, VNI and Ishtar, based on my experience with Eagle and Cerberus, I have no doubt that those 3 Drone boat will perform well in this activity. In fact it is possible that they will be best boats for this activity (bar for RLML Cerberus)

Last thing:
I am little disappointment about not allowing to bring Battlecruiser and/or Battleship.

I just did a tier 5 here’s my take on the experience.

Pocket 1 tier 5 drifter bs+6-7 cruisers 3 had neuts i was prepared brought cap injector cruisers were ok to dispatch I was flying an ishtar omnitanked pulsed ADCU when needed the fact cruisers switched to my heavy drones was helping me alot I managed to kill the cruisers the drifter bs tho was skirting along the edge of the arena doing some heavy damage to me even at max transversal i couldn’t get closer to it was afterburner fit had to overload my ancilary rep and normal rep a bit but again so much damage from one target astonished me another thing is the escorting cruisers 2 were suposed to web me and didnt that could’ve killed me probably,I managed to dispatch the battleship aswel and moved to 2nd pocket.

Pocket 2 some 20 odd small rogue drones 3 had webs and they pinned me down easily 1 had ewar there were also 2 of them actng as logi reping the others but not too much i deployed lights quickly killed the stasis ones to reduce dmg from others on me after pulsing adcu and overheating tank a bit i stabilised and reduced their damage again the entire swarm combined and added pinned down by webs was impressive and scary,I noticed the small drones have a bad optimal if you can move with an ab you can mitigate alot of incoming dmg as they have to keep trying to catch up to you.

Pocket 3 similar to pocket 1 but more cruisers some 9-10 or so all had neuts they closed in on me before i could make a plan again they had a tier 5 bs with them ,i deployed heavies they started slowly but surely grinding down the cruisers i also had a web to slow them down whenever i could the cap pressure from all their neuts was felt hard as they managed to dry me out however some adcu pulsing and heating reps and pulsing reps while pulsing injector at same time allowed me to rep altho not consistent,again lucky for me the cruisers went very quick after my heavies and werent able to kill them so the drones kept chewing them up,the drifter bs was another story tho for me it kept wailing away at me with consistent shots of 300-500 dmg no matter what i tried(transversal,moving away didnt help too much either),ADCU pulse bought me some i finished the cruisers off and was going to try to move in on the bs slightly when it happened-A WRECKING SHOT of 1600 dmg on an omnitank of 75%+ across took me down from 70-80% armor to nearly 0 reps were cycling tank was going to heat up next cycle but next shot blew me the ■■■■ up ADCU was cooling down NO CHANCE.

If i am to look back at this I think my aproach to the site was ok however few things albeit expensive may have increased my chances:the armor hp rep drug booster,asklepian implants,possibly losing my only dmg mod and adding an eanm instead,3-5% hardwirings for armor rep boosts.

I have another tier 5 on hand so as soon as possible and with some of the upgrades i mentioned above i’ll head into the void.

As far as my skills all V everything from HAC v tanking skills v damage riging drone specialisations even,thermodynamics etc. any skill that would benefit an ishtar i have to v.

This sounds like a real issue. CCP has to make sure the NPCs don’t leave that area.
In general thigns like towers spawning outside also is not a cool thing. Needs to be fixed.

Hello CCP, after testing of they sites I have not found a lot of new bugs,
which is really good work.

However there are some balance and tweak suggestions that I have.
I do not know which ones are planned, but this is feedback for the current sites.

  • Clouds don’t feel meaningful
    The current clouds, armor rep penalty, shield rep penalty and sig bloom. don’t really add that much
    You just avoid the tank penanlty ones. The sig bloom ones are fairly usefull for killing drones though

  • Automata Suppressors deal Pitiful damage
    With the current damage they deal I am able to kill all the drones myself before the automata supressor takes them out. It doesn’t really reward flying to them.

  • Only 5 object
    Currently there are 3 clouds and 2 triglavian pillars, some more variations might be able to provide more meaningfull gameplay.

  • Drifter Neut Cruisers
    In the t5 sites there is a chance to get a battleship along with 10 neut cruisers. The only thing i’ve found that beats this wave is a kiting deadspace rep fit Ishtar. It’s the only thing that can keep the range against the neuts, rep the battleship damage. and provide enough damage to complete the site in time.

  • Tedious Drones
    The current amount of drones and them being really hard to track make the sites quite tedious.
    I have found that light drones don’t really clear them that fast to beat the time limit in t5s even on an ishtar if you get 3 drones pockets.
    Any other weapon system doesn’t track them well, and double web, or vigilant web is needed.

  • Hitting the timer feels anticlimactic
    Just dying after 20 minutes doesn’t feel very good.
    Normally you get to see your ship go into hull and this kinda gets my heart racing every time, but now it’s just 3-2-1 dead.

If you try to activate the filament while still undock invulnerable, the dialog should automatically switch from the You Cannot Do This state to the Now You Can Activate state.

Another tier 5 another story:

Pocket 1 8 webing cruisers plus drifter bs killing everything took longer because i droped my dmg mod this time,however 1st room went better than first site

Pocket 2 1 drone bs with 10ish armor rep drones had to deal with the rep drones first which didnt take too long however when i started on the bs with heavy i was in for a shock:it’s EHP was disgustingly high and i ended up wasting my remaining time trying to chew it up when it reached low armor my time was up and i blew up crushed by abysal space.

Apart from the ishtar i don’t see any other ships capable of doing a tier 5 right now the EHP on the battleships is really high compared to what even the best fits could bring to bear further more time is lost ond dealing with swarms of drones or other dangers like large numbers of drifter cruisers .There is also enough dmg aplication and ewar in the rat groups to force you into needing a heavy tank which takes away potential slots for dmg so you end up dying crushed by abysal space.

3rd tier 5 site in a vagabond:

Pocket 1 lots of tiny drones mixed ewar drones in the group kiting around managed to clean them in ok time with quite little damage taken

Pocket 2 again large swarm of tiny drones again kiting around was ok this time they had more ewar drones in the mix and around 3-4 logi drones cleared the pocket

Pocket 3 10ish small drones all forms of combined ewar from damps and td to painters,no ecm and 1 drone battleship,the bs gets 2-3 good opening shots on me while i try to kite the tiny ones and blow them up their ewar optimal seems quite low which is good for me after i’m done with them i go in for the bs despite not being at the worst transversal a wrecking shot of 2770 from max shield down to 60% armor scares the hell out of me i continue shooting it giving it all i got as time is short as it just about to enter hull the pocket colapses and kills me.

Again max skill vaga ab fit cap injected triple gyro 220mm xl booster,what can i do better?there’s just too much ehp/stuff to grind through for time allowed

I have done several different sites from T1-4 in a passive regen gila, only came close to dying once when I decided to sit in the middle of strong drones for a minute or so but then easy kited them once I got low. Also sites general take 4-12 mins so plenty of time, need to see T5/6 to see if that is still reasonable

Positives

  • The structures make a difference
  • The clouds make a difference

Negatives

  • They are all very easy, kite the stuff, drag them into a cloud and let drones destroy them with ease or if anti-drone/missile structure just go sit next to that for a min (no need to kite in T1-2 and only when I am sitting in the middle of a large swarm of strong damage NPCs for a long time do I need to do anything in T3/4)

  • T3 is harder than T4 from my experience

  • NPCs do respond to turrets by spiralling in but otherwise don’t seem too smart (they know we have to kill them why aren’t they dragging us into harm/dragging missile boats next to the anti-missile structures, while staying out of range themselves)

  • The ease makes it very boring very quickly

Other stuff not abyss deadspace

  • DPS of traglavian ships is impressive for T1 ships but pirate versions get better dps without the need to spool up and better tank

  • Mutaplasmids are over powered massively

Hello dear CCP, and DEVs. So I have tested this update for 3 days so far, and I have a little feedback about it.
So lets start from good sides:

  1. Those Abyss sites have a very nice atmosphere, as was shown on Concept arts and in Fanfest.
  2. They are possible and interesting to do.
  3. Modules modifications using mutaplasmids are not so horrible, as it was told (on reddit for example). I have made around 50+ Mutations on modules, and each time I got some advantage and disadvantage on this module, but it was in normal borders. Like I get a maximum +20 % to some attribute, but at the same time I got – 10% to some other attribute (it was my best result what I had).
    Now, lets get to bad sides:
  4. Technical problems, when I enter this Abyss site, there is already some people there in local chat.
  5. To much small drones, even in level 4 sites.
  6. Small time that gives to you to complete this pocket, so you don’t even have a time to look at all this beauties around (once I explode for no reason after around 15-20 min just being there and looking around)
  7. BIGGEST problem its huge restrictions for Alpha Clones. Alpha clones basically cannot use Triglavian ships and modules, even frigates. But those ships not even T2, they just faction ships.
    I am propose solvation for this problem: Give Alpha clones ability to use those ships and modules, but with restrictions. So for example Alpha Clones will be able to learn skills (“Precursor…”) to a maximum lvl 2. Becouse, those ships more like Faction ships, and as far as I remember, nothing bad happened when you give alphas option to fly on Faction ships.
    Why I think that you still need to give option for Alpha Clones those Triglavian ships and modules (with restrictions, for example they will be able to learn this skills max to 2 or 3 lvl)- is that they are also part of community, and also play this game, and makes content for other peoples.

If i mutate a T1 item and then try to reprocess the item there are T2 components in the reprocess window. So i can create T2 Components with T1 Modules which i mutate. Is this as intended?

Where do i get Crystalline Isogen-10 ?

Getting killed by running out of time gives no Kill Report notifications and is not shown in kills and losses.
It would be nice to have that to be able to refit and adjust fitting instead of trying to remember what might have been fitted on the ship.

Also the battleship NPCs I have been running into today has been just sitting on zero of the out gate doing noting and just letting you kill them and drones without aggressing.

Cleared out about 20 some od posts that had nothing to do with testing the new sites on singularity.

Found a bug!

When you fly out of the boundary of abyssal deadspace, a red damage indicator frames your screen. This persists even after you die and are transferred back to your medical clone in station. Logging off and back on again removes this condition.

I was running a fierce gamma site, and just as I entered it, I had instant 10% TIDI like in a big fleet battle, so I was unable to test anything there, had to move back to K-space by moveme

Not necessarily a bug. With the DDoS attack against TQ, a lot more people were logging into Singularity to test the new features. They had Tidi on Thursday when the feature was first deployed to the test server. Currently over 600 people logged into Singularity and it doesn’t have the horsepower of the TQ cluster.
