I would say their own only because CCP has done a lot to improve the npe. That being said, CCP is now on the road to pandering to the entitled new players.
It’s the player running back to mummy npc to be safe, makes me mad to, I loved how our non-combatants in the past would answer call to arms. But that was a long time ago.
Maybe it’s a problem of not enough reason to fight for something, back to wd, player corps, , resource gathering and how they work together
“The game grew to fast”.
Maybe this what they want after all. Low numbers of players with moms/dads cc. Keeps the lights on as the soul of game died a long time ago.
Edit;
Can’t do that on a chat ch. At least I can’t.
it was to address the horde of alpha cata fleet that can obliterate anything without problem
Were there enough players for each toon? Seems a little farfetched that one player would do that. Not impossible, I know. And does the game still have the numbers to still do that?
It seems like they can go a long, long way as long as DMC et all are willing to buy $600 skill point packs.
Oh. So we’re just lying out right now.
Cool. Cool
Lucas is probably counting all three slots as omega, so it is more like 65 (I think it was 200 omegas, not 100).
Is there anything that you can do with just one sub?
After giving up the subs on my 2 other accts, it turned out there was a lot.
Never forgot the stand off with 2 other ships while in a stratios but thinking I was still in my hac! Didn’t end well…
FYI, you should give up the idea of banning multiple accts. Vpn’s seem to take care of that.
That is fundamentally incorrect.
After exiting an abyssal site, you are invulnerable. If you time it right you can activate another at the same time the one you existed disappears.
I actually hunt abyssal running Gilas.
I was making clear that tethering was a un-necessary buff to ganking and that calling it a nerf to ganking is incorrect. Now that I have got that out of the way I will answer your questions.
The issue was always consequences, or the lack thereof, and tethering was one mechanic that enabled gankers to avoid consequences. Consequences must have a real affect or they are worthless, if you make those consequences have more effect then the cost of ganking increases. The inability to dock while in a ship as a character with low security status is a consequence that has an impact, the player concerned will have to work out how to get around it and in doing so have less time to gank, tags as a cost will in time make the ganker be more selective. Don’t forget that certain gankers are sitting on vast amounts of ISK donated by bitter vets which enables them to gank freely, so if the changes remove that pool of ISK faster then that helps.
The changes are not designed to end ganking, but they are trying to push the players into a more cost / benefit type attitude, and it will take time to filter through all those ISK reserves that certain gankers have.
As for new players if you gank them in starter systems you will get punished, removing the ability to use throwaway Alpha accounts by removing safety red from Alphas prevents gankers from doing that, if you want to use your Omega accounts to do that then you will find your accounts will be banned. It is also to stop ganker players to just churn Alpha alts.
The most important aspect that CCP have detailed is that they have defined griefing as blowing up a low value target with no loot or benefit. Which is going to be a really pitta to GM, I wish them luck…
I think that attacking miners to enable your own miners to get to ore close to the hubs is fine, but that is not what is happening is it?
I think the real issue is how subjective the policing will be on what is griefing.
I guess I could just attempt to survive in this Brave New World. I dont think itll be interesting though.
Until they make Alpha Orcas illegal too, at any rate.
There we have it.
Now all you whiners can dry your tears and carry on.
There’s plenty of reasons to shoot people in high sec. Still the same now as they were 10 years ago:
- mouthing off in local
- mining the same exact rocks I’m mining
- trying to build up a new local mini trade hub, but someone buying it all anyway and shipping it to jita
- someone mining your moon ore in high sec
- someone stealing your corp members
- etc
Again, it’s a problem with CCP removing the mechanics that allow creative expression, and the players that are left are either trying their hardest possible to stay using the limited mechanics, or the dull ones that avoid the mechanics entirely and aren’t entertaining: the latter being the people that you’re complaining about.
I’ll ask you again:
Hint: they’re gone and it’s not because there’s “not enough reason to fight for something”.
it was to address the horde of alpha cata fleet that can obliterate anything without problem
I’ve never seen hordes of cats that are all alphas gankers. 90 % of gankers are omega I know .
Only group I know that use fleets of alphas are null blocks and low/null groups yes they sometimes have a trip to high to gank.
We have a small fleet as I said before and will rethink how we can best use them.
But anyway, the point people seem to be missing is that a lot of the alpha change is to stop exploitation going forward. With sec status now mattering, CCP don’t want people stockpiling fresh alpha alts to get around sec status drops
That’s a good thing.
I’ve never seen hordes of cats that are all alphas gankers. 90 % of gankers are omega I know
Welp here we have it folks. An AGer said it
That should put that myth to rest.
Who spends more? DMC with his $600 or lucas with his 100 omegas?
First of all, I don’t spend $600 on skill point packs, most of my SP’s have been earned the old fashioned way, with training. For Omega status I usually just buy a 1 yr sub.
For game packs I only buy them if they include new apparel items. Granted those game packs also include a small amount of Omega time, SP’s, ship skins and PLEX but mainly they’re bought for new apparel items being released.
In the past I’ve bought PLEX packs so I could either get new apparel items listed in the NES or sell the PLEX for ISK to get new apparel items listed in the Market. In fact I recently did that to catch up on new apparel items implemented while I was ‘Lost In Space’ for over 6 months due to ‘ISP-Connection’ issues.
Secondly, I gauge my spending amount for Eve on a 1 yr basis and to that fact I’ve never spent $600 or more within a 1 yr period. Most I’ve spent is maybe half that amount.
Third, I don’t understand why Xeux is fixated on me, constantly trying to publicly demean or compare me to others in some sort of sarcastic degrading manner. In my opinion it’s an unprovoked personal attack intended to incite a forum flame war. It’s been a long time since I’ve reported someone for personal attacks / harassment and that’s something I don’t really want to start doing again.
