Alpha clone suicide ganking need to stop!

Alpha players should be allowed to play with other players, its the best part of the game. Level 4 missions are almost never run by more then one person. PvP generally requires 2 players and isnt that what online gaming is about, having fun with fellow gamers.

Playing the game by the rules of the game is not meta gaming. Asking on the forums for changes in your favor however is.

They totally should be able to do that. Either alphas exist and they can do most of the stuff omegas can or they don’t. I highly doubt CCP will get rid of them though.

And what has that to do with anything? This was enabled by the wardec changes and has nothing to do with their alts at all. This would be exactly the same if their alts where omega, zero difference for the game. Maybe a difference for CCP’s wallet, but you are not in their finance department so you don’t get to use that as an argument at all.

Q: Won’t suicide ganking using free characters be a major problem?

A : We don’t think clone states will have much impact on suicide ganking or other harassment in high-sec.*

By CCP on Alpha. They shouldn’t be having much impact on suicide ganking or other harassment. Alliances using alt alliances of alphas to suicide gank and destroy structures means they are having much impact. Alphas were not intended to be abused in this way.

Did you ever answer the question about how you know these are alpha clones?

Yes and there is no sign of alphas being abused for ganking. The corp you mentioned looks like individual players and they may not even be alphas. You still forgot to tell us why you know they are alphas.

No no, i just don’t like the name of my alts after few days…legit biomass reason?

That corp has existed since September 2017, 2 months before Alpha state was given T2 small and medium weapons. There are no signs that the vast majority are omega.

This is the problem. Alphas can be abused, and unless CCP gives players a marker to allow anyone to identify they are alpha statatus, then it makes it much harder to call out the abuse.

You seem to be using a different version of the English language than I do.

“We don’t expect Alphas to have much impact” is not, in any way, saying that Alphas were not intended to gank. In fact, it implies the exact opposite: that CCP intends and expects Alphas to gank, but just doesn’t think they are going to be good enough at it to become an issue.

“Some alphas are ganking” is not, in any way, the same thing as saying “Alpha ganks are having a major impact”.

“This corp has existed since two months before Alphas unexpectedly received T2 weapon access” does not, in any way shape or fashion, imply that the corp in question is primarily composed of Alphas.

I mean, sure, the whole thread is based on an unproven and undemonstrated notion that Alpha ganking is even a noticeable activity. And there’s no shortage of people constructing straw-man arguments to make their ‘point’ on here, but yours don’t even qualify as straw-men. Your arguments are made out of delusions and brainfarts.

Surely you can come up with something a little more solid than complete fabrications, if it’s a real issue.

Imagine being such a sore loser that crying on the forums about a group of mechanically hamstrung characters with a lifetime aggregate kill count of <400 in close to 3 years seems reasonable.

When an alpha like in a catalyst with T2 guns looks exactly the same as an Omega pilot in the same fit, how are we supposed to know? Alpha pilots should be able to be identified by players.

You and the OP are apparently already able to do this. Obviously, if Alpha ganking is a problem, you’ve accurately identified the Alpha gankers. Obviously, if you’ve spotted that Alpha Ganker corp, you’re able to demonstrate that the corp is primarily composed of Alphas.

Or, neither of you have a shred of evidence to back up your claims, and are simply clamoring about a non-issue that you have no proof of.

We suspect it’s a problem. But how should we know since the game is designed in such a way to hide the problem if it exists. Make Alpha’s identifable and people will be able to see if there is an issue.

Just give omega pilots a small omega/premium sign on their public character show info window.

:open_mouth: how did we end up on the same side of the argument?

CCP already know whether or not Alphas are a problem with regards to ganking, they have all of the data; the current state of play indicates that they don’t believe that it is.

Just give omega pilots a small omega/premium sign on their public character show info window.

You’re not a student of human history are you?

That argument doesn’t work in this situation. No issue with letting people see who is subscribed. Then if there is alpha clone abuse taking place we can find it and report it. It’s rather odd how you expect developers to just magically know everything that is going on in the game.

I was resisting saying it so hard

So so hard

While you’re entitled to your opinion I disagree, alpha/omega status is between the player and CCP; it has nothing to do with you or I unless a player chooses to reveal it to us.

Then if there is alpha clone abuse taking place we can find it and report it. It’s rather odd how much faith you have in CCP to just magically know things.

CCP know who is alpha and who is omega; a simple database query would quickly point to a problem with alpha accounts being overly used to gank. As I said, they have the data, all you have is supposition.
