Yeah, we have both gone in circles about this, so I won’t spend much time repeating myself. I will say that I have never been ganked once in this game. I have been playing on and off since 2004. I tried to get my son to play this game. Never once has anyone tried to gank him since he started playing. He quit playing because EvE is boring and feels too much like a second job rather than a constant adrenaline rush like the games he likes to play.
Every time I quit playing EvE it is because I was bored with the game.
This claim that there are thousands of people who are intimidated by the gankers of EvE runs counter to all of my experience with the game, and just does not ring true. People I have tried to get to play EvE either don’t like nonconsensual PvP, and so don’t want to try EvE, or just didn’t like EvE because it was too slow paced and complicated.
Or it may be that MMO’s in general have finite life spans, and people get tired and walk away from them over time. EvE is one of the longest running MMO’s in history. I have played and walked away from at least half a dozen MMO’s myself. EvE is one of the few that I always return to because of its unique game play, and I hope we don’t dilute it to where EvE is no longer special.
Yes please. If anything it will be useful and I’m sure interesting.
But why just for “carebears”? Why do they matter so much?
What about the other players who aren’t carebears but are interested in reading about ways to avoid ganks? Ratters, Explorers, Mission runners, Haulers…
Anyway, I hope you do that thread and explain every steps like you’re talking to three-month-old EVE players who don’t know what the use of D-scan is for since you can’t use it to warp to anything listed in that window.
And thanks.
Because those tend to be the only ones who get caught, or at the very least rage about it. If a pvper gets ganked he probably goes “ah well that’s on me, you got me good”. Carebears have a habit of blaming everyone but their own lack of effort.
In that case T Elliot’s thread will be useless to the carebears since they refuse responsibility for their errors.
His thread would better serve anyone but carebears.
You can lead a horse to water etc etc. Thing is, not all PVE players are carebears and not everyone on this forum is a vet who (should) know better. So having the info out there is good, how much good it will do is up for debate but it might help some folks which makes it worth while.
First, I didn’t post the story until Gix pulled the race card. Second, the story nor the image are racist. It’s an actual news story. Third, the picture was drawing a simple comparison between gankers and gangs.
