Alpha clone suicide ganking - plague of EVE

Well this thread has taken an unpleasant turn.

Are you saying that EVE gankers are criminals and felons in real life?

No. That’s silly. They do “act” that way while playing a video game. Another simple conclusion.

They are the HS police when playing the game. A very multi ethnic HS police.

I deleted the 2 posts about Elm Street. Gankers hate to be compared to gangs for some reason.

As always, its actually the “friendly” “won’t you think of the newbies” people who are the real terrible people with questionable morale who can’t express themselves without going apeshit.

Really? Because I would agree with you if you did. I’m playing EVE out of Rikers.

Yes. That’s what I wrote.

It isn’t the story that is racist, the possibility comes in your actions to post it, not in the story itself.

I agree.

Congrats!

Um. Why you lying? My comment was to you posting the pic then you dbled down

Ain’t my fault you told on yourself bruv.

But remember, the ebil gwankers are the bad people

Actually you made a comparison of a vidya game to real life that had no correlation.

It’s ok. I know you get confused between New Eden and real life.

It was the specific issue I was discussing. Sheesh…do you practice being contrary and evasive or does it just come naturally ?

And no, you have never answered that specific issue.

You trip yourself up…for if a kill is a kill then in what sense is a ganker kill any different to a NPC kill ? Most kills of noobs are by NPCs. If CCP are sooooo concerned about noob losses…why are there still NPC pirates out there killing noobs ? You never ever mention losses to NPCs, even though they are the largest source of noob kills. That makes it clear you don’t really give a damn about noobs but are just using noob deaths as an excuse to nerf ganking.

Oh…you mean like I did ? Never been ganked while mining. What’s the problem ? If I can manage that…why can’t others ?

I have also never once been AFK. Could be a clue there.

Absolute rubbish. You don’t know what you are talking about. I have been ( still am ) a ganker and a miner and a hauler. I know all the sides. It is extremely easy to avoid being ganked…both mining and hauling.

Heck…I have transported well over 1.5bn worth of implants out of Jita right under the nose of some of the gankers on this forum. I’ve also transported hundreds of millions worth of clone tags. A very simple method that I use prevents me being ganked. I’m sure some of the gankers have sussed it by now, but its more trouble than it’s worth for them to get round it.

As for mining, simply adding gankers to bad standing and watching out for sudden increases in the count in Local more than adequately protects me. I also do a few other simple things like mining some distance from the landing point, and in a belt some way from entry gates…etc, etc. If one stays alert…there is no way the gankers are going to get you. I have even mined safely right in the heart of ganker territory in Uedama, in a Venture called ‘Gank This !’

Perhaps THE single largest effective method is corp intel…so I know where gankers are from several systems away.

Most people get ganked because they are either AFK or not paying attention.

You argue like a 12-year-old child.

I have been asked to post a thread of my tactics for not being ganked. I started typing out the text for a new thread, but I think that is unnecessary. Altara summed up the heart of what I have to recommend. I have been asked if I could save my barge from a 30 catalyst fleet. In a different thread I have been asked how I could survive a 200 catalyst fleet. It does not matter how large the fleet is. It doesn’t matter to a chipmunk if one cat is stalking it, or it one hundred cats are stalking it. What matters to the chipmunk is it sees the cat and gets away to safety before the cat can pounce.

Be aware of your neighborhood. Are you mining in a system that is known to be populated by gankers? Does the map show ganking activity on the route you are taking? Is it close to a large trade hub? Are you mining with friends that are watching out for you? Don’t mine in places where ganking is common. Don’t mine in belts close to gates that can be easily scanned. If you are a hauler, scout ahead. Have an alt to scout, or swap between two characters if you don’t like dual boxing. Park your hauler in a station and scout with an alt.

Make yourself the hardest target possible. Yes, this means not fitting cargo expanders or mining upgrades, but fit your ship to have a tank, to align as quickly as possible, and use the cloak mwd trick if possible. I am not suggesting that you are going to stand and some how fight off a ganking fleet. But you want to stay alive for as long as possible, and you want to be able to warp out of a bad situation as quickly as possible. If you are on a very ponderous ship use the higs rig trick. Fly aligned. If you are an easy target in a system of hard targets, who is going to be the first target?

Watch local. As Altara Zemara mentioned, set know ganking alliances/individuals to red, or what ever bright color you want so they stand out in local. If local is filling up with a big fleet unexpectedly, dock up.

Watch the grid. Are there suspicious people hanging around your belt? If so move.

D-scan. If you have followed the advice of not mining close to gates, d-scan regularly. If something does not look right GTFO.

Don’t be AFK/Auto Pilot if you are a target at all. I hope this is common sense, but I am afraid it is not.

Travel with friends. If I am flying an amount of goods that I nervous about, I bring a battle ship with me set up to web, repair, and counter bump. Even just being in a fleet with friends will increase the eyes and ears that you have, and give you places that you can quickly warp to if you are panicking and misclicking.

Fight back! If the worse has come to worse, fight back if you can. If you can kill just one catalyst you may by yourself time to live while concord is coming.

I know these are boring, obvious common sense things. Stay alert, watch d-scan, fit your ship appropriately and dock up the minute you see a fight coming. Warp to zero, use the cloak microwarp trick, and scout ahead if you are hauling.

It is really not hard to avoid a gank, as long as you are paying attention.

I noticed you dodged everything else.

I know why

Also imagine not knowing British slang LOL.

Bring up something valid and I’ll get back to you.

He doesn’t type like Drac.

Due to the ideologies he’s spouting, I think he’s Razorback.

They were.

That’s why you dodged

@T_Elliot All great advice. In before ‘someone’ pops in to say “Nope” and “those aren’t counters”

Well, no…if Alphas are not allowed to have ganking impact by doing ganking, then they should equally not be allowed to have ganking impact if ganked themselves. Otherwise the equation is imbalanced. There should be no penalty for ganking an Alpha. It does not make sense to remove one side of the equation yet keep the other.
