An Open Letter to CCP from Current and Former CSM Members on the "Prospector Pack"

This path leads to the dark side, the dark side has no cookies nor an invested player base.

I’m very sure some people at CCP said “No, this is dumb. Don’t do it”, you should have listened to those people.

Thank you Brisc.

CCP, how can y’all be this stupid?

Signed, another serious breach of trust

“This is the first time (user) has posted…” is the most posted comment in this topic, holy alt army Brisc & Merk. ISD should close this topic, delete it for brigading.

Honestly CCP ignore them, the CSM is not worth a single ISK. I’d say disband the CSM but even that is not worth the effort just ignore them, into oblivion.

The CSM failed at its single purpose to keep game corruption in check. Instead it chased their own self appointed & self centred agendas often bringing further corruption to the game.

They’ve made an Eve-O cry post brigading a bunch of F1 smooth brains and alts over retrievers being sold for $ cost with over 200% mark up while ignoring actual in game corruption, shame on them.

CCP ought to reprimand them, ignoring them indefinitely would be best.

CSM had to publicly reinforce posterior for survival.
CCP does not have to answer to anyone for its creation and or the destruction thereof.

I think CCP has the right to create packs for cash out of their own pixels from their own game. CCP/PA are first and foremost businesses.
I long for a return to the days where games were $5 and came with floppies and CDs but times they are a-changing and the clock cannot be turned back.
Monetization is here to stay and it’s up to the players to stay away from it if they choose to. No Monetization scheme will ever put a gun to a player’s head to buy anything.
As for the players who complain they have grinded years for something that is now sold for $10, it is the nature of reality that often latecomers will have advantages to gain ground. It happens in many spheres of life but can’t be helped. It’s a take-it-or-leave-it proposition very few of us have control over. It’s called “when money talks, bs walks”.

That depends on where you sit.
As a vet, a corporation head or an industrial sure it makes perfect sense for the game, but as a new player who is thrown head-first into a universe of greed, vilainy and violence a $10 mining ship that would help with income, a month’s worth of subscription and some SP may sound like a very good deal for $24.99. CCP sells then subscriptions in exchange for pixels and SP that cost them nothing. New player happy  lol

Here is Aiko Danuja, Princess :princess: who proposes that the pack in question opens up opportunities for content. I like that idea.
The new player who gets ganked in his $10 ship will quickly learn the ways of EVE and will be the better for it. For 10 bucks he gets to learn how to avoid getting blown up. How much more frustrated would he have been to have spent a month grinding only to lose his ship in a matter of a few seconds without understanding how his ship didn’t withstand the attack long enough for him to even think of the next best step?
@Brisc_Rubal You do agree that a new player who gets his ship blown up will not automatically quit for that much, don’t you? CCP doesn’t believe so either.
This pack has the potential to be a good training tool and can encourage new players - those who choose to buy it only - to stick with the game and continue subbing plus get a useful ship.

As for to the argument that this pack hurts industrialists, not all indies produce that specific ship and there are plenty of other ships to produce and just because a new player cannot buy this ship from the pack doesn’t mean he will automatically buy it from the Market, many would simply continue to mine in a Venture.
I think the impact that this pack is liable to have is greatly exaggerated.

I support CCP on this one.

CCP QC Fail

Anyone else notice it?

Where’s the QA/QC? How about actually checking the attributes before pushing a patch with so much fail.

I fully support Brisc and the other CSM’s on this, and I am signing on to the open letter.

And who the ■■■■ are you to me exactly ?

No.

Brisc has stated that “real money” is at risk in this enterprise.
Yet fiat is no more real than Inter-Stellar Kredit.

I do appreciate CSM stepping up to represent their base tho. So, good feelings I guess.
