I have no idea. This is why the whole thing took us aback. Itâs not like CCPâs financials are suddenly bad, or theyâre suddenly in dire need of new monetization strategies. They have multiple things they have been sitting on, especially new cosmetics (clothes, backgrounds for images, alliance skins, corporation skins, structure skins) to things like naming rights for NPC stations and stuff - all kinds of things they could monetize that no one would complain about and would eagerly buy. But instead of the popular stuff, we get this BS.

Players canât generate rats. CCP does.
CCP doesnât generate SP for people to inject. Players do.
CCP controls sources and sinks, including selling plex for cash. Players control industry, trade and conflict, including trading plex for isk.

Iâve played Eve since some good friends introduced me to the game in feb 2010âŚ
i started a line member and over the years rose to now having been the corp CEO of hundreds of wonderful humans that i am blessed to have had in my life at one time or another.
CCP has in the past made me angry and made me unsub SOME of my accounts and i have struggled a little with the " just keep going the guys need you to "
but this - selling functional items ingame for real money directly - you just took a dump on the one red line i made for myself back when monocle gate happend.
This violation of the trust between players and CCP - this one will get me to walk away i fear. because you took away the one thing i helped my guys create ⌠content.
itâs been twelve years, some of them were even good.
i will cancel my 15 accounts unless this p2w retriever its removed asap, if u dont make enought cash from plex. Make more skins, make more custom mining lassers or upwell skins. BUT DONT FâK UP WITH INDUSTRIALIST. ITS TIME TO MASS UNSUB AND BURN JITA.

I read the post. Itâs nonsense. There are 30k accounts in Goons. If even half of them buy one ship skin, for 10 bucks, theyâve made $150k. Thatâs for ONE SKIN for ONE SHIP.

Because of monetisation. It surely ainât being propped up by subscriptions like it once was.
I suppose there isnât much point in discussing here why CCP have chosen this method of monetisation over others. I guess you have that fun to look forward to with CCP themselves. But it seems pretty clear to me that CCP are becoming more reliant on these kinds of methods and will pursue them more and more aggressively as their attempts to change the games direction continue to go wrong.
We had the backtracking of SP and the selling of frigates and dessies already. I donât understand why this is such a leap.
Maybe Iâm just triggered by all the phoney âthis goes against eveâs core principlesâ comments. As if they werenât already compromised years ago.

I started this game in 2018 because the idea that every ship I see, every module on it, the weapons charges, the implants in the capsule, all of this was created by a player. Seeing that they are now selling ships for for real money is beyond disgusting. The lack of integrity you guys are showing for OUR game that WE create the stories in, WE create the content, WE fight the wars, is disturbing.
This is no longer a sandbox game. This is a game you swipe a card, receive a ship, lose it, then buy it again. This is a mobile game. Embarrassing display by CCP, you should all hang your heads in shame.
