I could care less. Don’t have one, don’t benefit from one. It would be screwing over collectors rather than the original beneficiaries at this point, but whatever. Clearly only someone’s pain will sate your needs.
To be clear, you’re talking about the prints that were given out to friends of employees, not the ones created as part of the research raffle system? Because if you’re this mad about the latter… seek help.
It is pretty clear I am peeved about sandbox integrity, if you look at eve and just see spaceships then we are playing different games, they just happen to be in the same universe. As to the Imperium, easily one of the most influential internet community to ever have existed, great stuff, Eve would be a shadow of a game without some of its key members, I’d go as far to say maybe even dead as a game.
The reality is that it isn’t. There are dozens of monetization ideas we’ve pitched that will sell far more than this pack, and that players will not only purchase but welcome and thank the company for selling.
Jesus, cat ears alone - despite being a meme at this point - would make hundreds of thousands of dollars if they sold them. They don’t need to sell fitted ships.
CSM talks to the player base all the time. CSM also don’t develop the game. They are a control group for CCP when CCP sees fit to actually use them.
Don’t hark on them as this is not their problem. They suffer the same ■■■■ we do, plus more as they actually get to see CCPs thought process (hopefully).
As reference I have talked to Kenneth numerous times, have seen Brisc talk a decent amount as well and the others occasionally. I am also good friends with Arsia who was placed there when one of the CSM stepped down. So I don’t blame them. Not at all.
the CCP logic is clear. make industry so painful that no one wants to build, then fill the gap by selling ships themselves. perfect solution, monetization and alienation of long term players. the CSN post is a wake up call that CCP should heed.
If this sideshow interview with Hilmar is anything to go by, then the fate of the game has already been decided. CCP/PA are not interested in being responsible stewards of EVE for decades to come, they want to turn it into a passive income generator, and they want to do it with cryptocurrency.
I’ve only been playing since December, but I’m glad I started when I did. The writing is on the wall and this might be everyone’s last chance to experience the game in a way that remotely resembles what it once was, before it is transformed into something else entirely.
Look at the picture again. It has both the information and inventory windows open. The information shows the current fitting (survery scanner, afterburner, 3 mining Upgrade 1s). In the high slots are one ice harvester and one strip miner. In the inventory are one ice harvester and one strip miner.
And let’s ask ourselves, what in this world lasts forever? EVE was created by people. Peoples’ passions drift and wane over time. EVE is nearly 20 years old. The original creators have moved on by now, and their replacements are just “doing a job”.
Hilmar has been CEO since 2004, he probably wants to move on with his life and take a hands-off approach. This is evidenced by the fact that the company was sold to Pearl Abyss. That’s usually why independent private companies get sold; because their owners lose interest.
Human attention spans do not last forever, and companies rise and fall with their people. What would you do if you had been working on the same game for 20 years? Would you still approach working on it with the same enthusiasm and love?
It’s likely that it would become a burden, and all you’d want to do is move on. Maybe you’d compromise and sell it to someone else, knowing they don’t care about it like you once did, and won’t treat it with the respect it deserves, but at least it won’t be your problem anymore.
Hilmar : How about the players themselves design/create cosmetic items of the EVE-Universe and sell those items to others players in real money, with a little amount of commissions for CCP ?"
Cosmetic items would be great! Player-generated cosmetic items have some challenges, but also great in theory as long as it’s not costing CCP too much to police the content.
Doing it all directly for cash sounds like a bad idea… is CCP going to report my cat-ear ramjag skin revenues to the IRS or do I have to do that myself? Wouldn’t it make more sense to trade things for plex? It’s a unique nontaxable currency wholly controlled by CCP, tradeable by players and its creation generates revenue for CCP.
(Sæmi) : To be honest, I feel player base has accepted this experiment without much objections,
and then their common sense ran out, unfortunately.
Bruh I dont think you understand how CSM works. I assume from the way you target Brisc you are not a fan of him, but CSM don’t control what gets put into eve. They have very little to no say. Quit targeting the CSM. This is all CCP.
