I will vote if any worthwhile candidates apply, but usually they are just vanity candidates and not worth the time to think about.
Why you cares about whs?
Only if Princess Aiko generates a list for her top CSM candidates then we will cast our vote using such information.
The list can be pre-purchased for 1 billion isk
Considering the extent of the Frostpacker entity that’s thousands of votes. ![]()
Last year it was posted for free on her website
Make Eve-online Great Again?
.. let put some politics on this..
Does the “against all” candidate participate in the voting?
I’m for disbanding the CSM so it would be hypocritical to vote on something I believe should be removed. The CSM was a knee jerk reaction to the T20 incident & BoB that led to a lot of trust issues between the players and CCP but it has long since outlived its usefulness.
CSM is just for null blocks. Nothing they do applies to anyone else.
Even if one or two do wish to represent the average player their recommendations fall on deaf ears. 99% of CSM voters are null bloc members who vote for their guy.
And the two posters above show why Highsec gets left behind.
This whole thing of "oh well nothing we can do so do not even try’. Attitude is self defeating is a self fulfilling prophecy. High sec which at most times either rivals or is has more players than null or even lowsec.
Now here is the part that pisses people off. If highsec were to decide on a slate of candidates. It matters not whom those candidates would be. Voted as a whole or at least a vast majority would. Much like Null or even low sec do as a matter of fact. Why by golly highsec candidates would start to get elected a lot easier. You know organize and be willing to agree on a slate of candidates.
Before you know it Nullsec and lowsec candidates would be trying that much harder to show that they do represent all three secs including WH space. But I get it. Easier to sit back and throw up your arms and say, ‘It has been tried and never works’ or the biggie, ‘why even bother cause ccp does not care anyways’.
Well, this game is for those that are willing to be a self starter. That are willing to play the long odds. So why not try. Maybe we do not succeed this time or maybe we get close the next.
Eventually though with a little will and a whole lot moxie. I am willing to bet highsec candidates would start getting elected. And regularly too. Remember this game is a marathon and not sprint. You have to plan and work that plan to even get close to your eventual goals.
Or.. or we can all sit back and complain and not vote. As the Nulsec and lowsec candidates get elected. Because it is just easier to do that. Then take on the challenge of causing change to happen. Even if it would in all probability take a couple of election cycles.
But what do I know. I am an old man that started to play this game a little over a year and a half ago. That working towards a goal. With no assurances of it being successful. It is much like RL in that. You can either stand up and take a chance. Or sit on your hands and bitterly complain. Not doing anything to change it. Because reasons.
HiSec isn’t a unified bloc. You act as if it is or ever could be. There is no consensus. It’s just a bunch of folks doing their own thing, going in a thousand different directions. That is something fundamental to the very nature of HiSec. Take your head out of the clouds.
Saying CSM is for null blocs is not a complaint. It’s just the simple reality of what it is and what it was conceived for. The typical HiSec denizen doesn’t even care about any of this. It means absolutely nothing to them. They aren’t getting “left behind.” They aren’t in competition with null. Null is in competition with itself. That’s why it matters to them.
All HiSec wants is common sense things like, “This is bugged. Fix it.” or “This feature isn’t working out. Here is the problem and these are some solutions.” Mostly quality of life improvements that are not HiSec specific. If I need a representative for that, the game and its developers are already beyond cooked. At the extreme you have people who want HiSec 100% safe. No CSM rep is ever going to make that happen.
Some of us have been here a lot longer and know the CSM is a waste of time, and has in the past been corrupt.
Apart from Mike very few have heard of any of the other “HS” candidates, and with the stupid block voting rules it’s always going to be very difficult to get one elected.
As for those (apart from Mike), who get elected they disappear into the black the day after they get on the CSM, then they appear when the voting comes around again.
Go check who was on the CSM for the last few years, then search for their posts in these forums and you’ll see what I mean.
Do a search of all the candidates and see how many times they actually bother posting in here.
I don’t care who they are, I refuse to vote for anyone who refuses to use the official forums.
But when CCP is a waste of space and don’t use these what can we expect.
I”ve voted with two of my accounts already.
To what end? Do you think CSM matters? Even if CSM was suddenly filled with High Sec candidates, what would the end goal be? More profit in High Sec? More limits on PvP? Fewer limits on PvP? An end to War Decs (which only exist because of High Sec as a bribe to Concord)? None of that would happen. High Sec doesn’t get improvements because that would not align with CCP’s goals. They want to develop the other regions of space. CSM doesn’t make decisions. CCP does. The CSM is nothing but a token group of people there to give the players a semblance of representation. It’s an illusion though. They only listen to CSM about cases already being considered by CCP. That’s how it works. There are no scheduled improvements for HS thus not even a team of HS CSM members would be able to discuss anything related to HS.
I think I’ve changed my mind. It isn’t like this vote will affect anything on the world stage anyway so I’m going to vote for @Mike_Azariah He’s the only one who posts blogs on this EVE official forum anyway.
If you decide that you do want to vote?
and please remember that order matters. I would appreciate being near the top of the ballot for that reason.

You’re number 1 on my ballot sheet Mike.
Good luck.
I’m sure you remember ‘Brisc Rubal’, he also posted regularly… In my opinion he was a bit antagonistic but at least he posted, especially when compared to most of the other CSM members…
I wonder what happened to him…
