That is the kind of dumb feedback CCP seems to be drawn to like moths towards fire and that seems to be tbe basis for their contemporary development practices. I can’t wait for them to introduce this either. It is only a matter of time before they will turn the soft shut down of order modification of now into a full ban on modifications.

That was the answer to the comment that relist fees would be the main ones hurting profits. The fact is, you won’t relist that much. Turning it to the extreme (4x the relist fees, effectively making deleting and creating an order a better strategy), people would not relist at all, so relist fee won’t reduce their profits.
Then … relist 3 times, then cancel the order !!!

Just off to Jita to witness the carnage
They changed the default behaviour of selling:
now when you right click sell, it make you make a sell order 0 001 above the highest buy order, NOT just sell to the highest buy order.
To sell to a buy order you have to CHANGE THE PRICE.

Yes! I’m glad that someone else gets it. The reality is there aren’t that many high frequency traders just like there aren’t that many station traders. But they play an important role. Because they trade frequently and in large volumes a few traders can ensure liquidity, fast trades, and small spreads for the rest of the market. In order to fix a non-existent problem, CCP has made the market lousy for the vast majority of their players.

Yep. Said all that in my original post. They can still place a new SO for a lower price, but they won’t because they still have a SO up. They can relist their own, but they won’t because it will either take too much or negate their profit margin.
What is there to think about placing a SO? You either list it right below the next or you cut it down to bare minimums to hold the spot since nobody will want to compete, but then guess what? There’s no real profits to be made. If my margins go from say 5m per item to 100k per item, well I might as well just go run missions at that point since my profit margins are no longer profitable in any reasonable sense.
Well sure, since they wanted to remove the 0.01iskers.
I wouldn’t even be surprised that CCP would do that, using the incoming fact that nobody relist anymore so maintaining an unused feature costs too much development time and money.
I just hope that CCP will shut the f*** ** and stop saying that they are proud to mirror IRL economy. Because they do the absolute contrary.

As I see plex price has gone up ~6% already, nice. Plus many, many SOs around Jita :). When ■■■■ hit the fan people always choose to have gold.

There is one thing from this that can be studied, and that’s the effect of putting a brick wall against financial liquidity in a market. We’ll see how long CCP survives this accidental experiment.
Among all the genuine differences of opinion and discussion, I see we still have one troll that’s just feeding off of and trying to generate as much ill will as possible. I’d avoid directly replying to it. I scroll past when I see the name, as there won’t be much of value to be read there.

As expected it’s now too complicated to managed correction selling orders to calculate and check if the marging amount is still positive or negative.

So instead of having 0.01 iskers, are we going to have people just listing quantity of 1 item for 0.01isk less on sell orders or more on buy orders? Like 100,000 sell orders of 1 Antimatter M charge with a 0.01isk difference?

Nah, thats just wrong, there are products were you have to adjust orders all the time to sell it and theres products were you rarely have to do it. But maybe the change is not as bad for me, since i never sell stuff in Jita anyways
