You do you boo. If you like it that’s all that matters.
FWIW I never said your fit was bad. I only questioned why you’d go buffer fit when you can get a solid tank without all the bling, if saving isk was one of the reasons it seemed you were going this route.
One of the best things about EVE is the crazy fitting options.
I didn’t mean you at , lol. Your fit is almost identical to my old one.
I used PYFA for all 4 of my Marauder fits. Before Eve had the simulate tool to be sure. I just dont think a lot of people that play eve who “min/max” know wtf they are doing.
If we are debating semantics, shields inherently regen. I’m not sure if there’s a module that cancels that out for the “purest of buffer” fanatics? I just said Buffer instead of passive buffer regeneration, sorry for the abbreviation sans disambiguation.
Its biggest strength by far is its DPS. Its ability to self heal is largely irrelevant in most level 4’s now. It didn’t decrease mission times. I went from 20M bounty ticks to 20M bounty ticks when I converted it. I gained a billion ISK from selling my old Tank. I could have changed it to T2 and got the exact same results.
I tested on SIngularity just in case I was wrong. I never lost the ship. With the tank I had. I could full agro any l4. With the tank I have now, I cant tank any mission if I follow the trigger order on the couple hardest missions. BUT… a standard t2 fit cant tank full agro in those rooms either, so I haven’t lost anything but a few DPS.
TLDR; you cant take advantage of every Marauder strength in every scenario no matter what. I chose to take advantage of the overkill DPS.
OR, you could have used less tank than a B and still have better overall stats, so tank the mission even more with more DPS. That is, be better. THAT would be smart.
That’s what I was telling you before but then you went full sperg mode and decided to focus on the detail of cap stability instead of my actual point.
Those stats are irrelevant to mission completion times, tested on singularity and tranquility; verified each time. That’s what YOU are failing to grasp. You can have your opinion on it all you want.
Anyone that runs missions knows that DPS to mission completion times is not linear.
Your mission completion times did not halve when your DPS was doubled. Your theorycrafting does not account for that. That’s why I even bother replying to you. I know I will never change your mind. But anybody that understands diminishing returns will take a look at it.
Out of the missions you can complete without DPS only one makes sense to run in the marauder itself. It would be shitfitting to run cargo delivery in a Maruader, yes. To run AE and the Blockade and a couple others and get those 20M ticks, not so much. Not at all in fact.
If you are not assuming the returns are linear why are you still here? It completely destroys the argument that the fit is “■■■■”. It would mean that at best/worst it was a few percent less efficient.
OMFG he gave up 2362 DPS for 2122. That must translate to one hell of an ISK loss.
Actual shitfit. If you had gone pure buffer, you could at least argue that you were aiming to blitz missions before you had to worry about running boosters and worrying about cap in certain missions.
An active tanked Vargur will demolish this in L4s simply because you can optimize it better and play to it’s strengths. You’re trying to turn a Ford F150 into a street racer and it won’t work.
