Yes indeed the vigilant will do better as seen on the videos but it is in the same time dependent on good cap and heat management, cap booster and the tank is much more flimsier (that’s why there’s so much failed runs on Youtube). So way more risky that’s why I used the cerberus in the first place as my first attempt now that I can do it faster and just as safe in a Muninn, I will take this opportunity.
Also one Muninn using this fit costs like 7-8 Vigilants using Chainsaw’s fit but for the common mortal who can’t manage all parameters, it’s safer and almost as good (just a little slower than the vigilant).
Based on video they were using T2 fit for the best time however the video chainsaw did 4 months ago was pimped and lasted 13-14min. While some video showcasing the vigilant fit could last to 1H while not pimped and I saw some very pimped Vigilant destroyed by dragonfly on zkillboard (like this one https://zkillboard.com/kill/70304461/ for 2 of these I could afford 1 Muninn) so ymmv…
But whatever who I am kidding to propose a fit to a guide so you may as well forget this fit, It was a nice thought experiment though and I did get some data to an undocumented mission (haven’t found a thing on the df and mantis)
As I said before, I totally understand that if you have ISP issues it’s mandatory to be able to handle a DC (the cerberus was very good at that, I was writing notes all the ttime while switching ammo)

You however only deal 95 ehp/s so with the 70 rep it’s not much … maybe if you approcah you actually deal more ? dunno. the rat should be going 26 m/s, and you around 35m/s with 10mn off, meaning you should deal around 100 edps.
get null , use void below 6km
I tried to fit a 10mn vigilant for DPS, but actually

the reason is, I want to chain the burners, so I need to have a fit that does not rely on very specific implants. otherwise the time to change clone would be too much.
My cap stable fits are effective enough I’m pretty sure you will make more with them than just about anything else when DC prone. The agents should all be DC safe, the teams you have that few second window when warping in, but once you hit orbit+mwd you should be safe, and the bases you can make safe if you go shiny, I just don’t want to recommend fitting a bil+ in mods on a cruiser in general.
Also I started modifying the cap stable fits to be more gank orientated for people not worried about DCs, Like the sansha DD you can drop the energized plating for another mag stab, just need to heat the hardener. The dram goes down super easy vs 500 dps full gank DD, that fit is in my post. Have a rage rocket hawk build for the serpentis daredevil, wasn’t 100% happy with it so I never got around to posting it.
And on implants, that’s why I suggest the general implants that buff a majority of the ships I use. Warp speed helps everywhere, general turret tracking + damage implants buff almost all my ships, zor’s boosts prop mod speed which again helps most ships, and then a missile rate of fire implant that buffs the rest of the ships.
I’ve been tempted to look at a genolution clone as those give a bunch of good all around buffs that should help with the cap stable fits. Was hoping the extra cap regen and fitting room would let me upgrade a mod here or there but just ran out of interest (another reason some of those earlier fits never got posted), although now that this thread is getting activity again maybe it’s time to post some of those.
If you’re using a Claymore to run the Guristas base burner and you want web range, make sure your Claymore is dealing out max web-range skirmish bursting. True Sansha web + web-range skirmish burst + 7% web range implant = ~21 km web. Can probably get away with Fed Navy web’s shorter range and higher strength with that setup if you only need to web out to 18-19ish.
I don’t believe you can use command ships for bases, so claymore isn’t really an option.
heated fed navy web should be enough to grab a mantis at 18km, also that’s why I used rails on my fit, can hit the mantis wave at 18km no problem with antimatter, and javelin is perfect at 9km for the DF waves. I started with blasters but rails did it better.
