Yes, it doesnt. But use your brain.
Rewards are available and get reset at every downtime.
20th May 11:00 AM UTC is the downtime.
If it lasted beyond that, it would last till the next downtime.
When is the next downtime?
21st May 11:00 AM UTC.
Which would mean that the event actually lasted beyond the 20th. Which would make that statement by CCP wrong.
Therefore, the 20th at 11:00 AM UTC, is correct.
Sorry you couldnt figure that out on your own.
I’m a photographer and work odd and erratic hours, but why should I have to justify that to you?
No, it makes sense.
Event begins May 2nd, ends May 20th.
Event resets at downtime.
When is the downtime on May 2nd?
When is the downtime on May 20th?
Nonsense - it started after d/t on the 2nd - so if running 2-20, should end at d/t on 21st - because that is how the EVE day works - d/t -> d/t
But as these events are actually ‘between’ dates - it therefore runs from d/t 2nd - d/t 20th
Just a case of CCP being poor at consistent labelling - @Kezrai_Charzai post was on the nail
Again, this semantic ■■■■ does. not. matter. in the face of customer satisfaction.
I’m only 1 day behind. Give me a break. This is a customer service opportunity. An opportunity to make or break a customer. Thats all that matters. This ■■■■ about dates and reading fine print does NOT matter to me. I think I still deserve the reward.
I’ll just put this here again:
Because the event ran 2-20 may - so if it started after d/t on the 2nd, it should end at d/t on the 21st - otherwise it doesn’t follow a logical sequence:
May 2 - starts d/t May 2, finishes d/t May 3
May 3 - starts d/t May 3, finishes d/t May 4
May 4 - starts d/t May 4, finishes d/t May 5
May 5 - starts d/t May 5, finishes d/t May 6
May 6 - starts d/t May 6, finishes d/t May 7
May 7 - starts d/t May 7, finishes d/t May 8
May 8 - starts d/t May 8, finishes d/t May 9
etc, until
May 20 - starts d/t May 20, finishes d/t May 21

Is the 21st, the 20th?
Answer that question.
Event ends on the 20th.
Is the 21st, the 20th? Yes or no.
Guys it doesn’t matter. I’s ambiguous enough that you are debating about it? Doesn’t that prove my point?
the Eve day runs d/t -> d/t so any given ‘day’ runs across 2 actual days - its not that hard to understand.
The key word (and resulting confusion) is 'between’
Yeah, why cant the company be cool and give me free stuff? Why cant the hotel in the Bahamas be cool and give me free nights to stay? I visit their website every day!
You still havent answered the question.
Why would this matter?
Between the 2nd and the 20th? Okay.
So the question still remains.
Is the 21st, the 20th?
he’s just trolling - he knows he’s wrong. that doesn’t stop anyone
Between means d/t 2nd may to d/t 20 may
2nd - 20th May means d/t 2nd may to d/t 21 may
… better now?
CCP use both terms in their advertising
Some people are more concerned with being semantically correct than actually being “right”.
I was only 20 meters from jumping through the stargate and into hisec before my ship was destroyed. Give me a break.
I was only 100 meters away from docking into the station before my ship was destroyed. Give me a break.
I was only 2 seconds away from warping to a safe spot before my ship was tackled and destroyed. Give me a break.
WHERE IS MY CUSTOMER SATISFACTION?
Of course - because in this case, it makes a difference of one day - that said - either way its poor customer service - or poor customer service resulting from poor communications
but that’s nothing new
Interesting analogy…but not. A hotel room costs money (if sold out). 1MIL XP for the company itself, does not. What will cost them is when I wont sub my Omega. Yeah yeah I know “can I have your stuff.” Sure, all 17 days of it.
Customer is always right? Ever hear of that, especially if its this ambiguous. I am glad all the vets know what CCP “meant.” I have no idea what they meant, I assumed the 20th meant the 20th…and that’s why I subbed Omega as a noob. Bait and switch?
If you are worried about some noob getting an extra 1 MIL SP to get closer to your 100 MIL SP, don’t worry your 100 MIL SP won’t mean much when the game dies (and I know … its been “dying forever” as I gathered from my reading) because there is no new subscriber/ customer retention
Between X and Y, means between X and Y.
Between 2 and 20, means between 2 and 20.
2 and 21, is not between 2 and 20.
Do you seriously not understand this???
Lets use Mathematics.
20≧x≧2.
Can X be 21?
You learn this in elementary school BTW.
You are not coming off well in this - not well at all…
The Eve day (date) runs across 2 RL days (dates) - can you not understand that? it’s not difficult, really not difficult
For example (you need one): today being 20th May - the Eve 20th of May runs 11:15 after d/t on May 20th - until 11:00 on May 21st - it is both part of May 20 and 21 (real life)
