Oh how the tables have turned!
List updated with some very big additions.
The Ardishapur Champion from the last Amarr succession trials (helping Trigs in the Empire no less) as well as a member of ARC.
Here, lemme 'splain why I found that funnyâŚ
Trii, stop flirting with my girlfriend.
I pulled an all nighter to flip aldick and I was there to flip ravross, why my name isnât on the list?, this favouritism isnât acceptable!
The detriment of mankind is was drives market forces.
Sigh.
All I have to say is Tucker DID IT!
Hm.
Iâll make some inquiries.
Yes. Thatâs why weâve been successful: because we make the effort to take care of our less capable people, so they can continue to contribute in their own ways. And even at our most crass and self-serving, we donât do it in the name of those who got us into any mess. We do it because that is how we ensure that we , not some other group who will do what we will not, benefit from their industry.
Is that sacrifice though? To leverage what we have in exchange for what we do not is more of a form of barter, trade. If they have something worthy to offer in exchange, they are not âless capableâ.
Both sides in this conflict have something to offer for our various involvement. One offers status quo - the other a disruption of it that is more in line with the goals of many pilots.
I love this list so far, @Arsia_Elkin.
Iâm not here to refute my involvement, but rather to elaborate on it.
However, Iâd first like to make it clear that I am no loyalist of this invading faction; to declare allegiance to a force whose goals we do not yet understand as a way to throw reject the âoppressionâ of CONCORD and the Empires is, in my opinion, foolhardy.
We simply do not know what will happen.
Iâve been processing in the system of Raravoss, observing and, yes, participating in efforts to advance Triglavian influence over the system and its Blue star. I seek to accurately understand the final aim of the Invasions: the attainment of a state of "Final Liminality", which involves the manipulation and penetration of Glory-Immanence stars for an as-yet unknown purpose.
Ravaross is a relatively outlying system in Amarr space with nary a single temperate world or station (save for a few Capsuleer citadels) to its name - instead encompassing only sterile, barren worlds and gaseous spheres. Compared to other targets, it is in essence empty. It is my intention to aid in progressing Ravaross alone into Final Liminality as a way to identify the end result of a Triglavian Invasion, in order to illuminate the branches of the path that spreads out ahead of us and to unveil the goals of the Triglavian Collective.
The Triglav seek to re-establish themselves in the Ancient Domains, in part in an effort to fight their âAncient Enemyâ in the Drifters and to quite literally erase Sanshaâs Nation. The Drifters pilfered Nullsec and absconded with BILLIONS of baseliner mortals, doomed to be used to bolster the Tyrannos military machine - either as people, or as biomass; and Nation is the only group in the history of New Eden to have incurred the unprecedented wrath of all five Yulai Conference signatories in united, unanimous opposition of their way of life, for reasons that are very apparent.
Should the successful Dazh-claiming of Ravaross by the Triglav turn be worse than the Drifters and Sansha, Iâll do whatever I can to block the Flow of Vyraj from proceeding through Liminalities in any other system.
Should they instead turn out to be less a threat than the proclaimed paramount enemies of the united Triglav civilization, however, then a road on which we might work in parallel with them becomes a bit brighter.
The Arataka Research Consortium was founded as a collaborative environment for those who seek to uncover the mysteries of New Eden, and from the beginning has striven to foster the same inquisitive spirit that once fueled the ArekâJaalan Initiative.
To unilaterally support EDENCOM, with no allowance for the ascertaintion of the true nature and goals of the Triglav, a living extension of the mysteries of our past and precursors, would be an utter betrayal of that spirit.
I plan to continue seeking out and sharing whatever knowledge I can obtain.
My honest, sincere apologies to those who see this as irredeemable.
To sum up all that nonsense:
âI think itâs perfectly okay for me to decide to sacrifice a system I donât personally care about because thereâs not âenoughâ people that live there. I donât know whatâs going to happen and ultimately what effect it will have, but because I want to find out, I donât care about any terrible possibilities that may come out of my support.â
Itâs my prediction that Final Liminality will inevitably be achieved somewhere.
Iâd prefer the first incidence to be in a system thatâs as sparsely populated as possible, so its full effect can be observed, understood, reacted to, and prevented (or perhaps - should its effects somehow be a good thing, heaven forbid - encouraged) elsewhere, with a far stronger base of knowledge to work off of.
Has there been any evacuations of non-combatant residents in Raravoss? It would seem a prudent choice given the situation. I see only Citadels there.
One offers status quo - the other a disruption of it that is more in line with the goals of many pilots.
One offers the chance to preserve the things we value. The other makes no concrete offers that we can verify, nor do we know what ends we would be aiming. For all we know, their ultimate goal is the elimination of non-Triglavian life, and theyâve just obfuscated it well.
Better the monster you know than the one whose hunger and capabilities remain a mystery.
The Drifters pilfered Nullsec and absconded with BILLIONS of baseliner mortals
FFS, no, they did not. I donât know what CONCORD-flavored hallucinogens youâre smoking, but no. Iâve been out here since before they showed up. They have only once engaged in the scale of operation that youâre talking about, and all they did then was shoot at a few structures without ever making any serious headway. They did not abscond with billions of baseliners, regardless of CONCORDâs fear-mongering.
I seem to have misremembered - but itâs well-established that many, many Baseliners facilities were hit by the Drifters and were utterly stripped of resources - be those resources inert, or alive.
Regardless, the revised estimate places loss of life as just over ONE BILLION.
Yulai, Genesis â CONCORD has formally revised downward estimates of overall casualties in the outer regions due to widespread Drifter assaults in nullsec, declaring that âconfirmed and reliably reported fatalitiesâ amount to just over one billion lost. While this figure reduces the estimated death toll by a factor of ten, it would still mean that the recent Drifter attacks represent the deadliest series of events in the New Eden cluster since the Seyllin Incident and connected stellar events of YC111.
CONCORD has revised the figures downwards considerably after carrying out extensive search and rescue missions in nullsec regions. While a large number of nullsec colonies were attacked by Drifters, particularly those on asteroids, moons and in low orbit of gas and ice giants, many that had dropped out of contact had been âtoo hastily assumed to be lostâ. CONCORD reconaissance and SAR missions have established that in most cases outer region colonies survived unscathed, despite having been cut off from access to the civilian layers of the fluid router network due to attacks on FTL communication hubs by Drifter forces.
Drifter attacks on non-capsuleer installations appear to have preferentially targeted resource extraction colonies and facilities of various types, while secondarily mounting attacks on communications and logistics infrastructure. CONCORD has noted that it appears Drifter assaults on nullsec colonies generally stripped all resources from the target before entirely destroying the associated installations. In most cases, fatalities were total, resulting in the high numbers of dead. CONCORD has not confirmed or denied reports that in some cases there is a near total absence of corpses or biomass residue remaining amidst the destroyed infrastructure.
While there will be some relief that the death toll was not so high as first thought, the grim reality is that there has been a vast loss of life due to the Drifter attacks. While CONCORD refuses to comment or speculate beyond the facts, it has not been lost on some commentators, the Scopeâs Galactic Hour with Ret Gloriaxx among them, that the Triglavians have been comparatively restrained in contrast to the inhuman ruthlessness displayed by the Drifters.
Eve Online is the world's largest MMO RPG universe rich in adventure, as player corporations compete in a massively multiplayer online space game.
Yeah, still gonna say CONCORDâs numbers are a bunch of fearmongering hogwash. They may keep us from tracking baseliner vessels, but they donât keep us from tracking Drifter ships, and the Drifters werenât doing anything of the sort.
Kinda funny, though, isnât it? All those resources suddenly going missing while CONCORD was busy blanking out communications systems throughout null. Meanwhile, the Drifter attacks took place on five days over two weeks, and then were done. But during those days they made off with a billion baseliners! Or, you know, they didnât, because CONCORD hasnât actually confirmed any âabsence of biomassâ at the âdestroyed infrastructureâ. Still, all those baseliners, right? Wait⌠what baseliners? CONCORD keeps telling us thereâs nobody out here but us, our planetary colonies, and the various criminal orgs. Did the Drifters âabscondâ (or, you know, not abscond) with people only from pirate-controlled systems?
Cuz they didnât get them from the two capsuleer structures that exploded. Those werenât finished anchoring. They didnât have their crews aboard yet. Maybe they absconded with the nanoassemblers.
Personal standings updated. The IGS is significantly more orange than it was 48 hours ago. Good that we understand one another.
I see your point and can somewhat sympathize with it from a scientific perspective. But letting an unknown entity that is actively attacking us complet any objective is a bad idea. Even more so when that objective involves harnessing the power of an entire star.
