Capsuleer DAY XXI the worst in hystory event!

Calm down miner.

The grind is real with this event.

Years ago, the rewards were fifty points per item through the Agency. But now, the rewards have been stretched to seventy-five points. Previous events had three different career paths to follow: combat, exploration, and / or mining. This current event removed the mining and changed it to a combination of manufacturing and marketing. And previous events had a repeatability within the career path you taken for the rewards. Almost 400 points into this event and my current three advancement goals / rewards are combat, exploration, and manufacturing. If I attempt to stay strictly with one career, the advancement rewards drift towards the other two paths. That is, after scanning fifteen battleship wrecks, I am “forced” to buy, create, and / or sell components and filaments or I can damage a battleship for 20, 30, or 50 thousand damage. Then once one of those paths are completed, then I might get another exploration path. Of course, instead of “Use a filament and scan another fifteen battleship wrecks, go find another Desolate site somewhere in the universe first!”

Perhaps it is the weekend or the event is winding down, but the very first site I ran - an exploration site, had an Edencom wreck with fireworks and a hat! Now 375+ reward points later and loot cache sites are non-existent. I am not asking for the Loot Fairy to sprinkle me with “phat lewt” each and every time. But come on CCP - for every event, these constant day one mistakes towards the event, “Oh, we overdid the loot - we need to tune it down!” is tiresome. A good quarter of the way across the Agency reward system with one cache site of secondary rewards is not much incentive to continue grinding away.

While others noted being against the Abyssal area, being “timed” is a good way to keep you moving. But requiring certain doctrines over others to succeed versus fail is another point against this event.

Just my thoughts.

How strange… that is almost word for word of what the critics said about the Hindenburg landing in New Jersey. Get use to being disappointed, I have been to a lot of milestone game events that were more than underwhelming. One game celebrated their 8th year online by giving the players wondrous prizes for 8 days in a row. Everyone got everything and the kitchen sink too! When the 9th rolled around people were expecting the same treasure trove, but when the 10th came up even less than the 9th, players were irate.

I am not one who expects something for my birthday, let alone getting gifts for someone else’s. Place as many X’s as you like on those roman numerals, it will never mean anything to me. Maybe we should be giving gifts to CCP? Have you ever pondered it in this fashion? Imagine you log into the game on it’s 25th anniversary and they demand a tribute.

Capsule skin is great tho…

To me it feels more like there is a total number of items that can drop over a time period (let’s say 24 hrs). In the beginning there are more players running the event, loot gets depleted. As the event progresses, and fewer people are participating, the loot picks up again. I’ve noticed this multiple times before, but I could still be wrong.

P.S. still no S-107 and S-133 in tier 2 combat sites, lol. But plenty of old T-shirts, and one (1) cerebral booster (basic capsuleer), yay

I Agree 100% It was absolute ■■■■. The whole loot table was so feeble, You could do anything and make more isk for your time. Anybody done a Calamitous Firestorm Filament, and not lost everything. This was the worst event i have ever played, complete ■■■■■■■■. and waste of time. I want to See CCP do a Calamitous event in a single, ship that has not cost them over 1 bill.

Not a lot of point , when you have completed the event, And you are way, and i mean way better off, never to got involved with it.

this event has 75% loot drop, which makes it the second best event only after the 90% loot drop one.

Oh it had a 75 % loot drop but , If its a 75% loot drop of stuff, that has a few months sell by date , that is basically is worthless The Dr Who event was awesome. and brought players in. This event make me never want to waste my time ever again.

This is hands down, without any doubt, the best event in the history of the game. Hopefully, the next one will be just as good.

not the best, but the second for sure. It made me rich again.

Just out of interest what sec of space do you live in, For this to be so profitable for you.?

@Talic He doesn’t live anywhere, except in Doomheim. Why that char still has access to the forums, perhaps a slight oversight by ccp.

Agreed, but just an observation: pretty much everything CCP has done since around 2019 and the Triglavian invasion has been focused on getting players to spend more and more time in the game on more accounts/alts, for less reward. Verbal confirmation from CCP isn’t really needed.

As usual CCP has trouble imagining or designing actually interesting and engaging content for EVE, so their solution to “more time in the game” has been “let’s make everything take longer, be more complicated, and require more sources”.

CCP tends to work from the mindset that EVE is a necessity for many players, and therefore those players will jump through whatever hoops and run whatever hamster wheels CCP can put in place.

This has been CCP’s design goal for over a decade, apparently. In this “play it your way!” sandbox, the only goal they’re concerned about is funneling everyone into the larger alliances.

Yes, it’s partly about pushing certain directions too hard. But it’s also about CCP forgetting that people play games for fun and entertainment. It’s not our second job, we don’t have to be here, and when the content becomes more trouble than it’s worth, yes people quit.

Events in EVE used to be fun and interesting and encourage participation by many players, eg. the events around the Coronation of Empress Catiz back in 2016, the original Crimson Harvest events back in 2016/2017 etc.

Since they went for the “long grind with reward ladder” design changes, events have become less and less worthwhile, at least for me. Gave this one a pass as soon as I read the progress design.

CCP have good players they could do it for sure, but even then yea its not worth running.

You are a ganker or gate camper by any chance?

I finished the event a bit early on 7 May using this fit. I found the Disastrous to be more time efficient for the reward track, but chained the Calamitous for the loot.

Not complaining, I don’t mine anymore. Speaking the truth. I thought we trying to keep players and get new players in Eve. Some just have time to unwind after work hit some rocks. Not everyone pvp ,incursions or whatever. When you force players to do something they dont wanna do they quit go to another game

I agree with ya. Less rewards too much time to do them. Yes this is not my 2nd job. Where was the 1/2 off omega, they always do it for this event? I know a few of my corpmates was waiting for the sale. I think they going alpha and not resubbing and some thinking of quitting eve all together. We will see

Just do the event for your Monitor skin

Nothing else matters!

It’s great to see you using something other than the cockroach
