CCP plans to remove PvP from HS

There was also a 50k avg player base and growing till they messed with it. The numbers never recovered.

This is just an illusion. While recent charts show a slight uptick in null population over the past decade (like a 1-3% bump to slightly over 20%-ish), the data that’s missing is the one that shows null-sec population being over 30% during the first decade of the game, when it was an aspiration for most players to progress through space tiers to find their fame and riches, instead of choosing whatever flavor-of-the-month krabbing method is employed, whether in null or high.

While I have to agree on this point. We did not play that way when I started. (now down to I :anguished:) Our goal was to trip up/destroy as much null players as we could find in high sec through WD’s. The theory was you might be safe in null but try to get your products to market. Meh, that was the 1st happy times for me. I keep hanging around hoping for a 2 happy time!

Yup. I was in the same alliances as you.

Those happy times are never coming back. The meek and the feeble caw-cawed to mother, and are now hawking up frothy spittle at us as they cower behind her legs for protection.

It took CCP years to fix the first “dec shield” exploit, and the one we have today has existed for almost half a decade. All you have to do to avoid a war, and that is if you want to own a structure which is a requirement for declaration, is offload the structure to a holding corporation, set up standings, and then derive full utility from it (along with protection from the 11% NPC tax) while your members are perfectly safe.

If you watch recruitment chat, they even advertise themselves as being “dec-immune” or “griefer-immune,” which is quite obviously intended to be a spit in the face.

At this point, suicide-ganking is the only vestige of piracy that actually remains in the game. I hope CODE. triples their efforts so that CCP “does something about that” too, and then we can finally write this whole thing off as a 20-year-long failed project.

I ve never been in an Alliance.

Was it good?

Frankly, not for me the both times I tried it. To much “background noise” for me. I enjoyed the apx 20/30 man corp size I was in. Large enough to do some damage but small enough to be able to chat during breaks.

Yeah, I mean I had some good times in certain cops 2009-2012 or so, but never saw where the supposed trap-door with carrot into Null was.

Mosty seemed to be angry people who didnt want to know anyone.

Seems no different now.

Sorry Im probably off topic.

Even more off topic, I told myself I would not resub until you did, but they sucker punched me with the last ditch yearly 48 hr deal. Sorry but it did work out well! 255 days to lvl 5 all the subcap skills I wanted. I don’t even play anymore?

What prompts people to do such things with anything in life?

Nooo

Hang on, what deal?

 I’m glad you missed it or you would have been suckered into it as well. What was that “other” thd about misleading CCP game time deals? You probably missed it during the bs that followed. I do not think we will see another deal like that till next new yr in the attempt to drive up numbers again.

I would have pointed it out to you but you said the t2 salvage were not enough to resub. Sorry to let you down and not bring it up.

No no you were just right. If it was part of any of the recent slew Id have probably passed it up anyway. And yeah Id have buyers remorse now I think!

I can honestly say I don’t have buyers remorse??? It will lvl 5 all sub cap combat skills for this toon. Plus the cap skills that I have if CCP can ever get rid of tdi? maybe by the time I retire in 5 yrs…

Boy, who am I kidding now!

And all you used to have to do to avoid a war was jump into the next holding corp,
And you could pull the POS down in minutes.
You are crying here about something that didn’t exist originally either.

Sounds like you’re a real expert on wars.

Educate me about the copious amounts of people who owned POSes in high-sec, and how they were the focal points of high-sec wars. Maybe tell me some stories about how easy POSes were to attack with a small group, because they couldn’t defend themselves, just like citadels can’t today. And remind me about how players who did own POSes didn’t have to commit to production and research cycles, because all of their structure contents would go to asset safety.

Ignorant as frittata.

You mean all that research that was done from the Corp office in the same station?
As for the rest of it, I’m not sure why you are blathering on about things that were never discussed by me, but you do you and be salty I guess.

Amazing. It’s almost as if you read my post, didn’t understand a word of it, and then decided to spew some random drivel in response anyway.

Almost. You are, of course, too good to do something silly like that, as your history on these forums makes it very clear to all of us.

Translation, “Nah, I got nothing to support my point”

They wont remove PvP from highsec. Highsec player versus player confilct is the highest form of Elite-Emergent Gameplay-sandbox-interaction that this universe has to offer! Killing this form of interaction between the player base will kill EvE Online.

That may be true, but the point still holds. Low sec has been all but abandoned. Before, there was steady traffic between the regions of high sec and null sec, and low sec was the road. Now people just stick to their side of the pond and the pond itself is empty. I don’t know what change is going to make people start actually moving throughout the game again, but it ain’t ESS or DBS. I remember a time where hot dropping carriers on a low sec gate fight was considered insane, because there was so much risk to the caps themselves involved, so the event itself was rare and traumatic. Now there isn’t a fight where people are just waiting for the cyno to go up and titans to roll in.
