At this point we’re going in circles, so I’m just going to digress, and leave you with a bit of advice: if you want to gain valuable perspective with regard to PvP, you need to start engaging in it. And by that I don’t mean showing up to some mandated fleet op twice a year because you have to, but actually with the intent to kill other players. This would involve such acts as piracy, wars, and even ganking. You’ll quickly come to learn what motivates PvP in this game, with the added benefit of becoming a better, more competent player to boot. Because right now, you have very little context, and are arguing from assumptions only.

And as such, we don’t seriously consider anything that you currently say. The choice is ultimately yours, and I have very little, if any, interest or investment in your progress as a player; you’re merely someone to argue against and defeat on the forums, which is easy to do, as you lack the experience necessary to present well-rounded viewpoints, and argue from emotion only (as is evident by what I’m quoting in this reply).
However, my advice is genuine, and I will sincerely help, if asked, by someone open to the prospect of learning.

You’re mistaking individual fights involving titans (in-between there’s not much happening) for big wars with a lot riding on them.

I said the game stagnated, and it did.
The very people involved in the fights you’re referring to frequently complain about stagnation and the blue donut.
On why CCP implemented blackout.
At the same time, major wars of late have, by many measures, been lesser things, not equalling the glorious brawls of old. Nobody fights anymore, we hear. Why doesn’t anyone do anything like an ‘Alamo’, or Thermopylae, courageously fighting to the last man, making every inch of space cost dearly in the victor’s blood and treasure? It all gives rise to a word we’ve heard a lot over the years: stagnation.

For what reason do you want me to fly a smaller ship rather than a bigger ship, and for what reason do you want me farming in high sec rather than null sec

Goons were not the wealthiest of folks when they took on the ‘greatest alliance’ in the game. They literally hurled swarms of frigates at them.
PVP is not limited by ISK because PVP players can always fly something cheaper. And if null ratting became that bad, they’d get their income elsewhere.
Well you do because you hate the idea of players earning lots of ISK.
You can’t fight in a big ship if you can only afford a small ship. Simple as that.
