Wrong. Abyssal space mechanics have very possitive feedback. Rng spawns don’t become stale fast, but some of them at higher level are just impossible to kill.
Edit so if we need bling fit to beat the timer at L5 people expect to be rewarded properly. Problem is abyss loot is not that good for what people must bring into it. Every pve activity is ISK printing the way or another anyway. Without rewards pve don’t exists.
500M-1B per hour is not too bad. So 4h max. make up for a bling fit. As already said, from directly witnessing it, I know people running T4s back-to-back all day without loss inside.
These are few compared to the vast majority of ratters and mission runners, and they don’t speak up here in the forums, but like any other niche content, there are people living nicely in that niche.
Of course CCP can’t be happy with Abyss being niche content…
You act as if every successful Abyss runner would have to report in on their success. Name one good reason why they should come to the forum and tell you about it. We then know why the unsuccessful ones come to the forum and complain for not being successful.
All you can do is to check the market and watch the movement, and the movement is there. What’s actually interesting is how little the DDoS attacks, connection and login issues have influenced the volumes. You’d think it would scare people off, but it looks more like these issues are being ignored and players are continuing with it. Why do you think that is?
That is what I am saying all the time. The pve players don’t want the type of pve CCP thinks they want. Pve players just want isk printers. Apparently Abysmal space isn’t printing enough to be a success for the majority of pve players.
You don’t understand. IF abyssal space mechanics was introduced to the missions it would be huge success because the rewards are already there. IF trig hulls were success abyssal space will also be success because there will demand for hull which would create ISK.
It’s truism that pve in this game is supposed to bring in-game currency. Which part of that you don’t understand? Players in NS doing anoms because they like them? It’s no brainer, just isk printing. At the same time people bring an argument that missions and anoms are the best content because players always come back to them. Ofc they if they have nothing to choose from.
In the past there where numerous attempts to create entertaining pve content. CCP finaly learned that it’s solo activity mostly. No mining bull****, no focus on group etc.
PvE has hard connection to rewards, it in every game that was created, exists today, and will be introduced in the future. EvE is not different. What happen to RWs? No rewards and content was abadoned within a week.
They don’t (do the new) pve because it doesn’t generate enough isk for them. Contrary to what ccp seem to believe the pve player does NOT want fun and interesting new content but isk printers. So yes, pve players are their own worst enemies and continuously shoot themselves in the foot. Just look what happened to the last few attempts to introduce new and interesting pve concepts.
just because the rewards are not there doesn’t mean the mechanics are not succesful. Abyssal space has great mechanics but rewards are based on trig hulls (situational) and mutaplasmids (nobody know how to balance them) so income is discusional. You can’t say that CCP can’t introduce new types of pve because we already have missions and anoms and that’s it, because all they want is ISKs and how they gather doesn’t matter. It’s foul thinking. It matters. It’s more complex. Players do want entertaining pve, such as abyssal space, but CCP always listented to the people and the end of the food chain -> NS, and we had some stupid, unbalanced things like RW and FOBs.
CCP has done well with some of it’s group PVE, they are called Incursions and sleeper sites - they are rather popular. Had they continued that level of risk vs reward in FOB’s and RW I suspect they would be a lot more popular. Actually my biggest concern with Abyss sites is that they are solo content - promoting activities that push people into solo play isn’t something I believe is wise for the future of EvE. Nonetheless, the criminal flag was never a big deterrent in my eyes.
I have no idea what you are trying to say. EvE grew every year for it’s first 10 years, in the last 5 years or so, EvE has lost over 50% of it’s active players. You can’t honestly expect that CCP is happy with those numbers? If you look at their actions, it’s pretty obvious that CCP does not want this trend to continue. Do you think they would have let CCP Seagull leave if she was ‘god’s gift to MMOs’? Do you think they enjoyed laying off employees? I doubt this action (removing the criminal flag), is being taken because they are happy about how their new content has been received and/or utilized. Remember when CCP used to boast about how they had a significant number of long-time players?
Actually CCP has repeatedly said they want players sitting at their PC’s playing their game. That’s the customers they have stated they want. They have never stated they only want PvP players. Which leads to another point, most people I know who play EvE have multiple accounts, most have PvE characters who provide the iskies for the PvP characters. Most people aren’t one dimensional. Besides if you play EvE for any period of time, you have to like PvP because everything in EvE is PvP in one way or another. PvP isn’t just pressing f1, market PvP is just a vicious as ship PvP. You should have learned that by now.
while incursions are popular because they are the best pve ISK wise, 99,9% of players didn’t even hear about sleeper sites - if you talk about the WHs ones ofc. So no, generating ISK is mainly solo activity as past shown. Pushing people into that type of content don’t work. It doesn’t matter if EvE is MMO, some activies are just better doing solo.
and it prove what? That I’m wrong about how pve should work? CSM were pushing for group content for year and most of CSM are NS alliance players. CCP wanted to kill two birds with one stone. RW were introduced when Moon mining become active. NS would need miners for that, and they called that hisec expansion…
That happened once actually. Before my time. Only happened once and the server was rolled back afterwards. It was some weird event and they called it Armageddon Day or something.
Looks like this removal of suspect flag due to the upcoming event where you have to run Abyss sites to take part. After the event it will be turned back on I imagine :).
When you don’t understand what someone is writing then don’t reply to it. The vast majority of all players then sit somewhere and on something, genius, and you only don’t know who EVE’s target group is.
I don’t want your Triglavian ships as they are overpriced and not really worth flying anyways. I am sure not going to do content to “acquire” them.
I don’t want your multiplasmids because whenever zkills actually works no one will want them.
Shall I present a video of a corp ceo complaining about expensive things being fielded?
Btw when you remove the timer you have just made it instanced content with no risk of pvp involved.
Isnt that exactly what you said wouldn’t happen?
