This would mean that Rorqual pilots are borked, seeing as the Rorqual can only fit mining ships/industrials in their ship hangar (and none of them can light a cyno).

Rorqual pilots, at it turns out, can fit a cyno. What’s more, they can fit that cyno to be completely immune to cyno inhibts.

It’s called a Falcon alt cloaked 200k off so the faxes can warp into rep range.

as a part time jf logistician, here are my options with this change to continue running my service:

• buy 4 injectors per cyno in my chain (6 total characters) to train frigate 5/cyno 5/covert ops
• MCT 6 characters and train for 94 days to train those same skills
• train for 118 days to get those cyno alts into a force recon, or 107 days for a prospect, or 234 days for a black ops
• jUsT uSe OnE cYnO cHaRaCtEr AnD mOvE iT fOr EvErY jUmP, also tripling (or more) the amount of time it takes to complete a jf run
• not run my jf service until rise/fozzie/whoever’s dumb idea this is, figures out what the word consequences means

Ok, no cyno on caps is good change. It force players to work together.
But limiting it to 2 classes, which requires long training is bad thing. Imagine asking 20mil sp rookie to light you a cyno. Many corporations have low sp members. Restricting cyno to high sp ships additionally boosts nullsec empires as they do not have this problem and there is always someone around with proper skills. I bet he will not have cruiser 5.
In my opinion any t2 cruiser, t2 bc and t2 bs should be able to light cyno. I would also consider stratios and nestor. Maybe also t1 bs as they have shorter training time, but still cost quite a lot of isk.

I came back to EVE for being on the big fleets. As a subcap pilot in NS. Less PvE Caps - less targets. I dont think a 200 bomber fleet will go out for hunting some barges and a ratting RS.

JFs can jump to covert cynos now. They stay up a very short amount of time, and being a little clever about it should make it rather difficult to lose the Cheetah or whatever else they decide to use. It’s not even like they’re that expensive, and if you’re a JF pilot you’re already a double digit billionaire.

Yep. That’s all true. And you and I both know they’re still going to light them on stations in lowsec and they’re going to get blown up by anyone who happens by, and the JF pilots, despite being rich mofos, will be incredibly angry about losing 60 whole million ISK. After all:

basically the point of this post is, if you make a change that makes eve more difficult for logisticians, everyone suffers, not just the jf pilots. either the jf pilots pass the increased costs on to their customers, or they simply quit the game in frustration - i’ve seen both happen, particularly with the change where topes were halved in size and jump fuel costs were doubled with one completely stupid, completely thoughtless, “oh it’ll be harmless” change

i’m a 9-account player and i’ll unsub them all without hesitation if this change goes live. if you’re reading this, hilmar, thoughtless change for the sake of change is a great way to accelerate as you drive this game into the ground

and that’s to say nothing of the effects this will have on capital pvp (literally no one will do it during this change because your capital models are way too big), subcapital pvp using bridges (grats you just killed battleship fleets forever, as if their godawful slow warp speeds weren’t enough), sov pve activity (clearly no one on the balance team actually plays eve online or you’d know how dead sov space already is, and you want to make it worse) and any other area of the game i’ve forgotten

tl;dr: do this and you get to watch the pcu dip below 20k omegalul

Honestly this isn’t even Chaos, its pretty much the worst idea ever. 10 ships can light cynos, those ships are going to be ridiculously expensive. Not only will this drive the players away from capitals, but it will make the risk of flying a capital too much. You won’t get more and bigger sub cap fleets you will get less fleets overall. There will be no drive to progress, no isk to buy the expensive ships, and overall null will be dead.
