Chaos Era Continues - Cyno Update

No one are forced to buy skill injector or PLEX, just have to be patient like always before ■■■■ injector.

A lot of eve players had forggoten, you don’t have to skill inject to learn skill… Don’t do skill injector and you hit CCP right where it hurt, his wallet !

please contract your stuff to me

But there are, maybe you are ‘no one’ in that category but for people to train for proper logistics, they need to upgrade all of their pilots. A multi-cyno jump account will require multi training certificates for his 3 cyno alts to properly move. He can’t realistically get into Cyno V and Bombers without spending additional real life funds (or significant ISK) until September. It’s an unprecedented cash grab move for these types of players. If CCP doesn’t want to appear greedy, they need to give time for the change.

Not every vet has billions ready for CCP changes so they can insta buy injectors. Not every vet has the option to just “wait” – they have jobs, citadels, supplies, move ships, etc to ensure his corp or his alliance can sufficiently survive in end-game environments (null).

CCP’s aim maybe to nerf the 1% that has billions – it wont nerf them. It’s an inconvenient spend for those guys. But for the 99% that still needs logistics, that still needs cynos for defense fleets, etc it’s a real life expense just so they can play the game.

Be happy that the change is not taking effect by tomorrow but give you some time to adjust. Pretty sure CCP embraces the side effect on extractor / PLEX sales, which is a major revenue driver.

It’s CCP’s decision to either look greedy or not. I don’t disagree with making things difficult and adding more steps to proper escalation, but the timeline optically looks like a big cash grab.

CCP needs to give more time for normal members to train into this naturally, because they aren’t nerfing the 1% that can spend billions of injectors in a heart beat. Those guys are rich. But it impacts a far greater number of null and low sec members that’s needing to properly train. They are forced to spend real life money to adjust to a game – that should be a red flag to any game developer on already immersed subscribers that are loyal customers. You are forcing them to spend $$$ to play. There’s normal profits that a humane company can do, it’s capitalism, and then there’s just (optically) unethical cash grabs.

Thats one way to misrepresent information.

Neither CovOps nor bombers nor CFG I require Cyno level 5 to use. You DONT HAVE TO use covert cyno!

If people are paying for an account and it only has 3 cynos on it there doing it wrong… if they have been doing this tho what skills have they been training for months/years on these paid accounts were they are going to be nowhere near being able to use T2 frigs and Cyno 5?

No you have to jump to a cyno that is fitted on a ship that has much higher skill requirements.

It’s one scenario, JF pilots have cyno toons that have been nothing more than rookie ships and cyno skills on mid points. We need to give them time to train into bombers and covert cynos just for them to move logistics.

Once again, I’m not arguing against the change but the timeline. Let people adjust without having to pay into PLEX or injectors. Arguing with “they should have trained better” – who are we to dictate that when their expectations and subscriptions have been based on a logistical JF/freighter game play?

Whats the time line? Is this comming out next week?

Eh? Frigate 5 and Electronic upgrades 5 is now called MUCH higher?

More line mid-september.

you cannot use a normal cyno on anything but a recon of blops.

So loads of time then, I just changed all my alts over today and evemon said its like ~35 days so nbd

ah, true, but recons dont require to train that long either. Just a matter of choosing whichever is faster: covops+cyno 5 or recon.

Its more than 2x the time min…

Just looking at one cyno toon that already has Cyno V for JF purposes:

  • It takes 25 days to train into a Bomber. 11 or so days into Frigate V (whatever race) and 14d into Electronic Upgrades.
  • It takes 71 days to train into a Force Recon.

So for a JF service that is vitally needed in many corps and alliances, we have to ensure they spend this much time into each cyno character (either bomber route or force recon).

There is not much difference in making this change in late October, vs mid-September (original timeline). Give time for people to train. That’s all I ask.

yeah but you didn’t need to have a separate alt for your cyno on all the other ships they are being removed from which you do now

Who mentioned alpha characters they have been removed from all ships so if you want to use something besides a force recon to do anything in the game and also want a cyno online at the same time its 15 bucks a month

Jump Freighters will be allowed to use Covert Cynos which can be activated by cheaper hulls like Covert Ops Frigates. This may need further attention and we will be watching this area very closely.

Why do you need a force recon when you can just use a cov ops for the covert cyno which your JF can now use?
