Conscious Interruption Problem

Until now the +10 two days accelerator was the low end, which is now the new +6 basic accelerator, reducing the drop rates for the +10 and +12 accordingly. So the +10 has now the drop rate of the +12 and the new +12 that of the +10 six days version from previous events.

Consistently the new +10 six days accelerator has a drop rate of zero.

EDIT:

Let me add, my “business model” for the sites so far was to consume the cheap +10 boosters and sell the +12 and extended for profit. This change breaks that, so I’m unhappy.

Yeah, you are right. Especially when new players can find SP Boosters, sell them and buy Injectors, they’ll make a better deal.

it’s ten minutes, and the clock starts the second the first player ship lands on grid.

Can NPCs use implants? Refit their ships? Use drones perhaps? Or maybe just dock up if they don’t feel like fighting while outgunned?

I know that when certain game systems prove ineffectual when they shouldn’t, or when some expected game mechanic is subverted without a good explanation we might feel cheated, breaks suspension of disbelief and seems like bad game design, but NPC and player character behaviors are two eminently different things which shouldn’t be equated to one another. That is to say, we don’t really play by the same rules as them.

NPC encounters are crafted in such a way to pose as a challenge to the players - a puzzle if you will -, and it’s not all bad that some of our preconceptions about them are proved wrong. Granted, best games will do so in such a way that you don’t feel cheated but, ultimately, solving the puzzle is the most important aspect of it.

Ah yeah, I see what you mean.

IMO the current NPCs are the best so far in the event history. They react on players, they pull range and try to kite/orbit you, and use defensive scrams if you come too close. Something a kiting player would do too. Same tactics apply, I once slingshot a BS which escaped my webs … run away full speed until it follows you full speed, and turn around …

Yes but when you scram a kiting player, his/hers MWD would turn off…

Considering the drop rate and material “list” those are gonna be dirt cheap soon :frowning:

You know that every alpha player gets it for free when they log in.
So infinite supplies of gnosis cruisers.

The funny thing, they are not. Somebody seems to buy them up today. The price is higher than yesterday, when I dumped most of the Gnosis (before all Omegas find one in their redeeming system). Didn’t expect that.

Today gifts were given. Lots of people sell theirs right away, others buy those to stocpile. I think thats the case. My bpc’s are cooking so I wouldn’t mind if the price would rise but experience says people value their time and effort really low …

What’s interesting, there was some outrage about Arms Race rewards (ships in boxes), yet there is no outrage on 1 trit bpc’s.

Presumably, people were upset because CCP was giving away ships that they made, which made the price crash and their investment much worse.

If I make hyperions to sell, and suddenly every third gallente player gets one for free, then the value of the hyperions I make goes way down. But if CCP gives away a praxis to everyone instead, that’s not quite as direct of an impact. It only matters IF some player who otherwise would have bought a hyperion now buys a praxis, which seems unlikely (different ships being better at different things).

Nobody made any of the SoCT ships, so nobody’s investment is specifically being affected as much. I would be quite surprised to see a dip in every BB and BC because of the SoCT ones. In fact, only a few people fly those ships and everyone prefers other ones, so it’s just excess instead of competition.

You’re right. Yet it normally takes certain amount of materials to build a battlecruiser and suddenly we have a 1 trit bc’s magically entering the game. I’m not complaining, it just feels a bit off. I’ll probably happily sell mine or just go to nearest lowsec and get them blown up (I think that was the whole idea).

On a side note - Vigilant/Vindicator combo works like a charm in BS sites. I’ve cut down running time to 1:45 and I think there’s still room for improvement.

Aren’t these ships unable to build from ‘normal’ BPCs?

The drop rate from the regular cruiser sites is really-really low. Most of the times i get only fireworks and a festival launcher. Not even a skin, not to mention a booster. To get a 6 points booster i have to do about 5 sites.

The loot was good on the first day when you had unlimited drone spawns and prices on boosters hadn’t completely tanked.

let me rephrase your sentence :

The loot was good when people had not farmed it yet.

EVERYTHING that people can farm will eventually crash.

Yes, the loot was (briefly) awesome before it got farmed to death. SKIN and accelerator drops have been practically non-existent, though.

The good part is not in the loot.

The good part of event has never been in the loot.

If you want money, you rather invest time in understanding how Eve work. If you do something boring and easy, you won’t make real money.

The sites are good for the fun, and that’ all. If you don’t enjoy shooting OP ships as a capsuleer, don’t run them.
run anoms, sigs, make missions for money.

Those events are meant as a refreshment in the fun of Eve. And I dare say, they are.
Just as resource wars is a refreshement and I enjoy doing one or two L1 sites, without reward, just because… well, it’s fun. And that’s all I want from a game.
Just like I enjoy doing crappy signatures from time to time. Their isk/h is VERY low, but still…

This whole “isk plz” tendency is crazy and leading to people who complain that the other people have access to the same tool they have.

It’s pure luck. Sometimes all I’ve gotten are agency boosters, two days ago I pulled something like 4 basic boosters, 2 whatever the +10 one was called and one +12 booster.

But the same thing happens with all these events - the first few days everything is expensive as heck, then more and more people begin to farm them and the prices crash. Still, I’ve made something like 500-700 mill off of this event so far so I’m not complaining.
