Yea, previous events were easier, but still had better loot. For whom is this event? Bored vets? The sites are too hard for new players and vets can do much more lucrative activites.
I will probalby ignore this event and simply buy the few SKINs and accelerators i want when they have dropped in price.
when I logged on after dt yesterday, the agency wasn’t even running but yet there were sites every where
if the sites and droprates stay how they are, you’ll not see the accelerators dropping in price. maybe 1 out of every 5 cruisers carries one of the basic +6 boosters.
Do this mean ccp is lying? false advertisement? as on this page Operation: Conscious Interruption Is Here! | EVE Online , read the last section above the blue text.
Ccp said in the event description:
“With various challenges for pilots of all levels of experience”
which is wrong. I can’t complete it. I’m absolutely not good at pve, im so bad at pve that i can’t even do L4 missions yet, L3 is more my level when i do any. Despite my age in eve, i’m pretty much a new player with several years unsubscribed. I’m mostly into market and trade, i play eve to have something to do when alone, can go afk 10-90 minutes between checking the market, i’m not dedicated enough to make eve a lifestyle and primary meaning of life, but despite all my shortcomings as a pve’er i could at least complete the previous event and i could defeat that battleship just fine. This event, a cruiser is impossible to defeat. So HOW is this an event “for pilots of all levels of experience”?
Also in the event description:
“a number of different encounters that are tailored toward rookies, solo play,”
Tailored toward rookies, no way. This is much too difficult and only for some very few players, them with gilas and the skills+knowledge to fit and fly them properly, something i and thousands of other players don’t qualify for (yet).
What can a 3-5 day old player in a t1-fit cormorant or perhaps a caracal with some mix of t1 and civilian modules on it do here? It’s not for “rookies”, it’s not for everyone, as ccp says: “there’s something in this event for everyone.” which is obvioulsy a lie. Or?
Of those events i’ve seen, this is the #1 biggest fiasco so far and it shows that ccp should, for once, for the first time ever, try play their own game the way players play it, and not just go to bed with the big nullsec alliances like all the 15 years until today.
I’ld like to see more content for unskilled or below-average players like myself and for the thousands of new players who otherwise usually quit after 2-3 weeks, for all those who never leave highsec, for those without ambition to dedicate their life to a game, those who just play it for fun and relax instead of watching tv. Eve is a game with SO much potential, but all that potential is going to waste while ccp focus on just one narrow group of players in a game which could been so much more.
For all those who don’t leave highsec? OUUUUUT!
For all those who presume to tell others how they should play or what they should do… well, now, I’m not going to say, as that would be hypocritical, yes?
Remember, all those who want to drag people out of highsec are just jealous, and struggle with the fact that they are stuck ratting for their overlords in the arse end of the world.
Thanks for making me spill my coffee
Was me a pleasure
This.
And this.
So many things wrong with this event on so many levels.
This will be the first time I skip an event since I started playing. I’ll earn the ISK in better ways and then use that to buy the drops.
Haha. You win post of the month May 2018.
Don’t even need to see what’s posted for the rest of the month.
Biggest issue with the Drifter cruiser is that it moves fast and does a very good job of staying out of the way. Unless someone is flying ships bonused for web range that can reach out to 33-35KM, it will take a long time to kill one of these cruisers. As of before the patch (have not hit a site since the patch) the sleeper frigates do not shoot the drones so a ship with damage bonuses and mods to it can kill the cruiser… eventually.
I have a hard time seeing a newer player completing these sites solo without hints or proper skills. A group of Alpha or new players will be hard pressed to snare and kill the cruiser before the timer runs out (is that correct, it is 5 minutes?).
Few hours doing lvl 4 missions in high sec would probably cover all the expenses for what these sites can provide.
Whole spectrum of items including the rewards from completing everything is worth maybe 100, 120M ISK.
You’d have to finish that whole site and salvage it on 1 char in 45 min for it to be equivalent to low sec sites, nvm nullsec.
I’m not very happy with the event, but I think it is better to be specific about what you think is wrong.
There are a few things that are pretty nice about this one. The level of difficulty makes this much less of a senseless grindfest. It might also be not as easily bot-able, which makes the rewards for the active players more valueable (and you won’t be able to buy the drops as cheap as you were used to).
That being said, I think the Sigs should have different versions. An easier one with less loot for the Highsec population and harder sites for Low and Null. Otherwise it creates too much frustration for newer players.
Another big issue is, that it is another farmfest for the safe spaces in Nullsec. The Sigs should have been gated and not allow Caps to enter. Equally, the Agency rewards Bounties again, like last time. Another present for Null farmers, who don’t even actively participate in the event and just do the same Superratting in Anoms that they always do. I think it is okay to give players an unusual hard challenge, but freely giving away Genolution Implants to those who don’t even do one single Event site, is just a big fat “f*uck you” to all the players who try and run the event sites.
Finally, while the Sigs can yield Sunesis/Gnosis/Apotheosis BPCs, the worth of these drops for the people who don’t have Supers to quickly farm these Sigs, will be low. @CCP_Dragon mentioned in another Thread that SP Boosters are the single most important motivator for people to run these sites. Lowering the the droprate could be seen as a motivator for people to run more than just a few, but also lowering quality and making the sites a lot harder for the people who don’t own Supers, pretty much just frustrates. It doesn’t feel very sandboxy, to create content where you can exactly predict that a small part of EVEs population will easily profit without their modus operandi being challenged, while the majority of people will feel put at a disadvantage on purpose, by devs.
It’s not too late to gate the Sigs and/or change the droprate of SP boosters. I don’t think the sites need to be easier, but they need to be somewhat worth it for ALL players.
trust me i know the problem i am using a battleships that does 800 dps a sec. and all i am doing is chipping at it hp and if i stop to reload his shield back to full going to test missles for breaking shields this time and see
I meanwhile brought the completion time to about 1min for the Cruiser site. The good thing, it needs new tactics, though there are also negative points. Sniping is not possible, if you are not the first in the site, you lose, or can only go steal the loot. Also the drop rate for the SP accelerators is too low. Even basics are rare. The drop rates were too high with the last event, but a middle ground would be nice.
Well, I think beacon are crap, sigs are average, and escalations have the good loot.
Could not complete an escalation though.
I made enough ISK before event in one day to buy me a big skill injector. But it involved running one 6/10 ded site and few 5/10.
How long does it take to do a sig site?
Would you chill it’s not worth dragging caps or supers around to follow the escalating sites
