I tried to sneak that one in, busted.

Many mining corps have rules in place that actually discourage chatting in local to try and prevent diplomatic incidents from hurting their business interests.

Is there a mining channel that Frostpacker is not banned from?

How do you communicate with other mining Corps?

Generally speaking, most mining fleets will DM non-corp miners in the belt if they want to invite them to fleet and then use fleet channel. Intercorp coordination is usually done through 3rd party comm programs.

Thanks for pointing that out, Davidius. Local was a far more chatty place in times gone by than it is these days. I think people have generally become less inclined to use the feature.

I used to frequent the Tekaima system, in Highsec. There were then several very active mining corps. I presume they used their Corp Chat for some stuff, but they often interacted in Local. All gone, now.

I recall a couple of instances where, following a gank, the miner went bananas in Local and made threats which were certainly reportable. We did report them; not to CCP, but to their CEO, who took appropriate action.

Unreliable Corp members can be a problem for a well-run organisation. You don’t want them around, if you can help it!

There are 8 years of documented amendments to The Code you can read here: http://www.minerbumping.com/

Make sure to read them all, and embrace the spirit of The Code.

Also if in doubt you can always ask your local New Order Agent for advice. We are here to help.

It is obviously possible that there are still miners out there who do not know about The Code and their obligations when operating in New Order territory. But fear not, we are a compassionate people and reach out to this lost souls.

Years of research in the field has shown that it is not the verbal communication but a fair dose of anti-matter applied directly to the mining vessel that yields the greatest success in bringing attention to the reality of The Code and spark the curiosity of the miner to investigate about their duty to the land (and acquiring a mining permit).

So all is well. What you perceive as unjust violence is in fact compassion and efficiency. We do not expect the common miner like you to understand all the details, we know your reasoning skills are limited, hence we offer our leadership services, as you are clearly in dire need of them.

Just comply for a better Highsec for all of us. Thank you.

Praise James 315, Saviour and democratically elected ruler of Highsec, Supreme leader of the New Order.

Currently the spokesman for Frostpacker and would like to mention that I’ve taken the HALAIMA CODE of Conduct very seriously and will also take action against any New Order Safety Agent who falls to follow the rules etc.

Frostpacker had paid in full on many occasions before conducting large scale mining operations in New Eden.

We have a right to start claiming citizenship within the boundaries of their control.

We also have a right to pull them aside when the Safety Officer steps out of line.

He’s just salty that both Aiko and Zaera blocked him for misbehavior despite he pumped like a trillion total ISK to mining permit purchases (and some other odd items like bath water and corpses for example). :face_with_monocle:

He could have been a great Agent.

What a waste.

He’s been blocked by more than that…

And nothing of value was lost.

I agree. Some of the gankers here are just not worth speaking to anymore. Although, I did meet some pleasant ones tonight. I’ll have to patch up a few bullet holes in my Skiff, but that’s okay. They were very polite and there to have fun.

They made my night exciting

Except that it doesn’t always go the way of the Ganker, does it? The only truth is that someone has to lose. It’s the nature of the business. It’s the Smuggler’s Blues.

It’s a standard T2 fit. There is sometimes variation in the rigs (I mostly use a Small Hybrid Collision Accelerator I with just the Burst Aerator) but it’s not terribly expensive. If you’re ganking for fun (as your encounter seems to indicate), then the cost is immaterial.

You can get away with a T1 fit if you have enough hulls to bring to the gank, but solo players like me with few Omega accounts rather rely on T2. As I wrote, it’s all factored in and, of course, sometimes you get lucky with the drops and recover some of your modules, in addition to whatever the target drops!

Ganks fail. It’s not the end of the world. I hope I’m as polite as the folks you met, though understandably not every target will respond with a virtual shrug of the shoulders and a ‘That’s Life!’.

Yeah. I did laugh and gloat a bit, but then, they did try and cost me money. I then thanked the leader for the fun.

Of course, I did head out there for that. I knew what was going on in local- it’s why I grabbed my Skiff and headed over to them. Though, now I suppose it’s time to use a jump clone and relocate. Safety isn’t a group to let slights go and I’m sure they’ll return in greater numbers just to make a point. I’ve got a new destination in mind and thanks to jump clones, there will be no trail to follow.
