Dev blog: Login, Database & Chat Issues - The War Continues!

I’m not sure why this happens, but I made some changes and for now I’ve been playing for hours without problems. Before I was disconnected every 10 minutes and it was unbearable.

  • Changes I made to have fewer problems:
  • When the Loglite start, I close the launcher and Loglite.
  • Something that occurred to me was to put it in developer mode, but after some updates stopped working, I downloaded the launcher again but unzipped it with 7zip and copied the folder, then the launcher worked normally.
  • After those changes he asks me if I want to update the launcher and I answer “NO” because it would produce the previous error.

I have spent hours straight without disconnection and I do not know if any of those changes have had to do, but I mention them in case someone else suffers from those errors and wants to try one of these solutions that have worked for me.

5 new nodes eh? I think what you need is a downgrade in citadel strength. Don’t design in-game structures that require thousands of people to destroy/defend if the game can’t actually handle that big of an engagement. You should be designing a game that works with the capabilities of your current hardware. Instead you’re trying to play catch up with your dev team and dragging your playerbase through the lag-fest that is EVE Online.

Even if the structure did not require thousands of people to attack or defend, thousands would show up anyway because the more people you bring the bigger advantage you have. This would happen even if keepstars were easy to kill.

Small tip to those who haven’t yet applied their free skill points:

When you use attribute remapping and won’t be remapping any time soon, then maybe don’t put the free skill points just onto a skill, which you have queued for training anyway, but put them onto a skill, which doesn’t match your attribute focus. Especially Charisma-based skills are handy for spending free skill points.

They are defending a huge investment in time and resources. Of course they’ll bring thousands. If the structures were smaller and less costly the engagements would be smaller.

So lets say your attacking an astra, you dont need many people to kill it. So do you only bring a 50man mach fleet? Or do you bring as big of a fleet as you can, so if the enemy shows up to defend you have a better chance of winning the fight?

So when you lose the fight because the enemy brought as many as they could what do you do the next time?

So do you turn away people from fleet once you reach your max needed for astra number?

you won’t put hundreds of titans and carriers on the line for a cheap structure. you might use a small group of capitals to counter an attacking fleet, and it may escalate from there, but the initial attack won’t require a node stomping force of thousands.

The killing of Shadow Cartel’s keepstar did not require the gigantic amount of titans and supers that these fights have had. The reason that many titans and supers are there is not because they are necessary to kill the keep, its because they are there to fight the other fleet, to win the fight.

The compensation looks disproportionate to the mistakes made. This attitude towards players makes the product not attractive, but unreasonable payment for it.

You’re ignoring that a Keep Star isn’t just another structure, but it’s a home to the players and most of their assets.

No its not some of us use it to troll blues and DD corpie supers for laughs

I haven’t had any SP gift on characters that CERTAINLY logged in in that time. 2 accounts, 3 toons on those 2 accounts have certainly been logged in, no skill gift on either toon. I think that problem is separate from the one stated here

I mean really… i’d pay double if this ■■■■ would actually work. Shame CCP your unable to run your game.
