Nothing I said was untrue, and no, you can’t have my stuff.
I think the point is he didn’t actually commit the offence therefore the unban was justified, but that wouldn’t fit your gr gon hat gon narrative, would it now? So cry away.
lol salty much QQ
I’m new to Eve and I want to just say this really is disappointing. To think you had acted on accusations stemming from and around senior community members and DID NOT perform due diligence is completely without reproach. I really hope for everyone’s sakes that this event sinks to the depths of everyone’s consciousness but I know for a fact that I and many many others will not forget this series of amatur hour events. Every single game administrator action now can be called into question.
To be perfectly honest now you owe the community an explanation as to what controls and steps are being put into your process for review and initiation of ALL bans, no matter the status of the player involved.
Very very disappointing.
I believe CCP also need to be absolutely transparent on precisely how this PR catastrophe occurred.
Especially in terms of claims made in the initial blog post (CSM whistleblowing, Market manipulation etc.).
I sincerely hope this does not simply blow over, as it is an enormously critical core pillar of any company to not “black box” their customers, regardless of EULA/ToS.
Without instigating a witch hunt, but a simple 2 paragraph apology is just not good enough. There must be community and company wide consequences, that will be communicated transparently and humbly.
The damage was not just done to one individual, this is a collective injury, which must be remedied with the highest possible urgency.
-
Explain, IN DETAIL, what happened (obviously no need to reveal NDA details, just the process of the fiasco).
-
Acknowledge that there will be MAJOR changes to bans, warnings and strikes investigations and internal processes. DETAIL WHICH ONES.
-
RE-REVIEW and/or REVERT previous bans. We understand you have full EULA control over who gets to play and who does not, but you MUST always be correct and proper when smiting people down. Botting and RMT are a scourge on this game, but this does not mean that you can blindly and broadly banhammer anything and assume the worst in every scenario.
As a paying customer, not a plexing one, I would expect that. This is just too big to ignore.
You made your bed CCP, now have nightmares in it.
Never been banned and the only guys I know that caught temp bans was from that stupid warp hack years ago (told them not to use it!).
Having been on the enforcement side of thing IRL I know how easy it is to make mistakes, how easy it is to get into an “us vs. them” mentality where everyone who is guilty.
Of course, we don’t make things easy on CCP, our community is full of slippery sneaky rogues as well as some truly bad people. It can be hard to show empathy after getting burned a few times by duplicitous players; everyone says they are innocent of course.
However, this is the job they are paid to do. Apparently they are being lazy and not even investigating. Changes need to be made in leadership and possibly Decisions like banning need some form of oversight and/or an appeals process.
I told you CCP will suck it up
No he didn’t, he didn’t give a ■■■■ unless you were logging in every day and “playing”.
I’m still waiting for his definition of “playing”.
So first there is a big announcement presenting completely unsubstanciated accusations as facts with cherry on top in the form of “illicit assets gained from the incident have been confiscated” (= physical evidence for wrongdoing was found)
And only after a lawyer gets involved because breaking an NDA would ruin Briscs rl carrear CCP does the actual investigation and finds NOTHING AT ALL!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I am not shure i should be spending money on this company anymore since obviously any sort of hickup could get my accounts banned and i would not be in a position to force CCP to set the record streight if that happens.
Are there any plans to implement an appeal and rewiev process available to everyone who feels they were banned for unfounded reasons???
I was there as well and I did not get banned.
On topic… yeah. Not surprised as stated in each CCP thread about this.
So, I can assume CCP will now be reviewing every ban they’ve ever made for similar unsubstantiated assumptions? You know in fairness for all of those who don’t have any RL political clout to leverage to force an investigation?
We should have a show of hands.
Admitting to your mistakes, okay that was a tactful decision CCP, wtg! And I believe the Brisc Rubal case will be remembered for a long time (because it has already negatively impacted his personal life).
Incidently, in the essence of repairing the game’s and the victims image, I therefore propose the CCP Team to create and set in place; a new ship design, or a set of unique skin, or a monument named after Brisc Rubal, erected in Jita (or wherever Initiatives members would seem fit) - as a beacon to remind us all, of the various ramifications of ‘shooting first, ask questions later’.
Free rogue venom
The exact same thing happen to me a year ago. A real life friend owed me a relatively small amount of ISK. in the way of 13bill.
And 5 days after receiving my isk. CCP decided to remove this from my wallet. Saying it was from a hacked account. And even had the cheek to tell me i purchased the isk using RMT.
As you can imagine i was outraged by this and put in a ticket.
I dont really care how/where my friend got the isk from to repay me. But to punish me because of another players wrong doing is very wrong.
After a couple of days (proving with evidence) i did receive my isk back. But i also had a strike put on my account. Even tho i had proven i received it from a friend.
CCP make it so clear and easy for new players to come join EVE. FOR FREE (rubbish) and they are very happy to receive your money. Then you make a mistake and ban you after no real exsplination.
CCP Devs need a real shake up and putting in there place. They would not be there if it wasn’t for the players. But yet the players are constantly on very thin ice.
Nobody was threatened with lawsuits or any of that ■■■■. Brisc has been working with CCP for a while and knows they probably just made a major mistake. So everyone involved was just trying to get this done professionally and fix the situation as good as possible. No need for wild theories.
Thanks CCP for doing your best job and for clearing the things out.
1 Post removed for Off Topic.
I heard aliens conducted experiments on brisc and he used mind control on you and shines… i suspect he may still be using it…
tru storie
After the things that occurred with T20/Sharkbait? I really don’t blame them for jumping the gun. they could have done things behind doors true, but the last go around nearly screwed them. Glad they got it sorted.
