Yes and while the courier can be shot. The instant skill injecting magic cant. And theres a huge difference.
Not really. Travel ceptors make the risk negligible.
Travel ceptors can still be shot. Smartbombed. They can make mistakes. Space magic is space magic. There no room for error in it. This alone takes away a great deal of gameplay.
You can jsut sit in ur ship and do missions while injecting the next skill without the need to move anywhere. Removing you from any risk in the process. And it denies content for anyone who would try to hunt you for venturing into their playground.
Travel ceptors canât be shot, they can only be smart bombed or bosoned. Itâs a chore, moving around and finding stuff, and itâs not meaningful gameplay at all to run around picking up skillbooks. Itâs the EVE equivalent or being forced to go to the store for milk.
This isnât going to have a meaningful impact on gameplay, it just reduces the number of boring chores in the game by one.
Nope. Talk to ITL or one of the Frogs.
You forget the fact that human error exists. And you base ur opinion of what is fun or not for you. I had a great deal of fun going after my skills in my early days. Im sure a lot of other players had fun searching for the skill they needed. This is not âhelpingâ new players. It just makes is less interactive for them to find out how this game works. We used to ask questions when we didnt know something. And there were always players willing to help. No one is lost in this game. And if you mean to tell me a button to instantly get the needed skills is what was holding back new players from getting more into this game. Then i dont know what else to say. This change is abolutely unecessary. It wont make more players stay. But it will greatly change how 0.0 and WH space gets their skills. Not to talk about how you ruing a group of ppls income whos been selling theese skillbooks. âBut the price will increase a bitâ no one actually cares if the prices goes from 1m to 1,5m for instant acess.
Which you can still doâŚ
Yes, when we started you had to walk barefoot in the snow, both ways, to get to a university station to get your skill books. And it was fun, because we were still flying around in frigates because battleships were too expensive and hard to come by.
The gameâs moved beyond that point. Today, getting skills for a new character is not fun. Itâs a chore. And trying to explain it to a new player who is used to literally every other MMO not requiring things like this or the drudgery to do it is difficult and adds to the unnecessary complexity that turns people off from the game before they even start it.
If your idea of fun is moving skill books around, this change still lets you do that. So go for it. For the rest of us, itâs one less chore getting in the way of doing something actually interesting.
I cant really. As of now you can inject every skill in the game if you want. And i kind of did pre inject every skill. ^^
Like smashing the same mission in HS over and over and over again. And after this you wont even need to leave for skills anymore. Okay.
PS: Majority of MMOS need you to meet a âTrainerâ and get ur skills there.
If youâre in HS mission running, youâre never that far from a university station. If youâre in null or a WH, itâs a chore.
Most MMOs donât bother with the trainers anymore. WOW got rid of them 7 years ago, if I recall correctly.
How are you far from skills if you are in 0.0? Almost every region got its âTradehubâ citadel with skillbooks seeded from players. On which they make profit. Jump Bridges allow you to move faster in 0.0 than you do in HS and JF services that move items on a daily basis. And Wormhole Space is a hars environment without local or Rules. Why would you be able to get skills from space magic in such conditions? How things work as of now they are perfectly fine.
I have no idea whats going on except there are a lot of unhappy people and it has something to do with skills. As I understand at - Skills will be for sale, not just skill books anymore? As an example, instead of training Mechanics to level 5, I can buy Mechanics 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5?
Let me know where the trade hub is in Omist or Cobalt Edge. Or in a WH.
Like I said before, if I can download a book on my Kindle from the middle of the ocean in 2019, itâs not insane to think I can download one in a WH in 239048230402.
So, you canât do it because you already did all of them?
Wouldnât that be true without this change, too? That seems like the thing youâre complaining about has nothing to do with this change.
No. Skill books will still exist.
Just if you didnât have mechanics you could fly somewhere and buy the skill book at say⌠1 million. And then inject it once you get to itâs location.
Or remotely buy it instantly into your skill queue at 2 million.
Either way you will still have to train it.
Yup. LotRO got rid of them about the same time in 2012-2013, and I donât know any of the newer games that really use them. Maybe DDO, but that hasnât really gotten any core mechanics shifts in a long time.
Can you download that book in the middle of a magnetic anomaly in the bermuda triangle 6000m under the ocean? Because thats what a wormhole is. Im pretty sure you cant. But you can get ur special submarine to dive down and get it for you.
If you feel like anything is chore for you in this game perhaps its time for you to change. Or man up and buy ur skills.
No, the training mechanics work just the same. The difference will be that instead of going to a place, buying the book, and right-click->inject skill⌠youâll have the option of âpay more to just purchase and inject the skill automaticallyâ. Youâll still train it the same way.
There are a large number of things in this game that are chores. Some are more chore like than others. This is one that almost nobody is going to miss.
