Overall, this nerf is a fantastic change. Capitals have been slowly forcing sub caps to be entirely useless for years. Especially considering that capital pvp is more about pure numbers than skill when on such a large scale.
However, there are a few things I’m curious about. The haw damage on dreads is staying the same, but carriers are receiving a nerf. That seems like a poor choice considering how few anti-subcap carriers I see. I’m not in lowsec often, but maybe carriers are being used there? In nullsec an anti-subcap carrier dies before it can kill the first ship, but dreads are able to take on 20-30 man battleship fleets. I would either not nerf carriers, or nerf dreads.
Also, I feel like the rorqual changes may be a bit extreme. A 20% nerf to the mining quantity with a 15% nerf to the mining time seems a bit excessive. Especially considering that any major alliances will be able to simply scale up operations, while smaller corporations will receive a major blow. This seems to go against the entire nerf, because it will inevitably influence the smaller corporations more than the larger mega-alliances. (BTW I’m in a key alliance, so won’t influence me TOO much lol)
If you want to limit a carrier distance like that, then you need to limit the fort in some way… so lets take away the reinforcement from forts… so that they can both be killed in one sitting…
I mean, you know -if you want to be ridiculous and turn a carrier into a mobile structure that anyone can fly without spending either the vast amount of time, or considerable amount of funds required currently from a carrier pilot - where anyone with basic skills and access permissions can jump in and use all the weapons, then yeah lets limit them to the same…
That’s exactly my point. You have to empty that ship into the Rorq anyway, so why not use the Rorq right away since you can just drop whatever number of alts your computer can handle across the entire field of roids. You do not have to worry about range, you do not have to worry about ore hold emptying, and with your super capital umbrella there is very little risk for you and your drones anyway. As long as you can use however many Rorqs you like on an asteroid field, the bonuses to exhumers mean nothing. Rorqs need to be limited to 1 per 1000 km around asteroid so that people have to use Hulks or Mackinaws and have to use actual people instead of 20 alts. Or risk 20 alts getting bombed to death like that Silver guy in Delve. That is my entire point. Got it?
My most max-tank rorqual with drugs is about 110keph incoming
it mines completely without the benefit of drone rigs… so it’s already 150m3/s
after the nerf it will be 60kehp incoming, which is not much really.
a max yield rorq will be about 41kehp incoming with very bling modules and drugs.
So post excavator nerf my max tank rorq is 120m3/s, which is about 3x a hulk… again. or max yield rorq is 4x hulk.
a max boosted hulk (my skills) will be 32m3/s * 1.62 = ~52m3/s + drones.
Hulk blinged out is 400mil
The rorq, 11 billion.
I might as well sell my ratting ships and my rorqual… I dont have the time to mine or rat long enough to be able to plex more chars so I can multibox… I also dont have the money irl to purchase game time on more than one account - so I may as well just pvp and hope that SRP brings me either balance or profit…
Why fly something smaller than a Rorqual when the Rorqual mines more than any other ship? This defeats its purpose of being a booster in the first place. CCPs “plan” to fix this involves continuously nerfing it’s yield in the hopes that it’s roll will change back to booster. As long as it mines enough of an amount more than a hulk, it is worth the risk, so people will keep flying it. And no one wants to fly a Rorqual worth 5 billion isk if it’s only purpose is to provide such a small boost(even with the bump).
Huge fleets composed of primarily Rorquals flood the market with minerals.
I purpose that we link a Rorqual’s excavator drones mining yield directly to the number of ships that the Rorqual is boosting. This would get rid of huge fleets of nothing but Rorquals, but still allow them to mine more than any other ship in the game while maintaining its roll of booster. A barge/exhumer can only apply this buff to a single Rorqual, and the effect only works if it’s a mining ship that isn’t afk(ore must be accrued). The only problem then would be fighting over who gets to fly the booster.
Allow him to produce it in HI-sec.
This will equalize economic opportunities for everyone.
But leave all the restrictions that you have on the test server (Do not use the gates in HI-Sec.)
People botting? no worries nerf lvl 4 and 5 missions…
People botting? no worries, nerf anomalies spawns…
People botting? no worries, nerf rorqual mining…
People botting? no worries, make so that rorquals are more easy to kill, and when they die they lose all the drones too
People botting? no worries nerf capitals to hell…
People botting? WHY THE HELL DON’T YOU ADDRESS THE REAL ISSUE???
CHECK ACCOUNTS, IP’s, PC’s, people with vastly super incredible exaggerated ridiculous incomes with tens of accounts and do something about that! Buy those freaking bots and LEARN how they work so you can identify patterns! GET A REAL CONTRACT WITH COMPANIES THAT DO ANTI-Botting for a LIVING!
If you remove botting, at least a part of it you solve a lot of issues for the whole game.
Your solution to nerf everything to the ground is only only doing harm over and over.
Rorqual mining incomes are lower and lower anyway because there are people that control 30+ rorquals or 50+ subcap retrievers (can’t belive that is humanly possible) THOSE ARE THE REAL PROBLEMS!
P.S Besides the HUGE train time and proper 8-10 bil fit a rorqual averages around 100m-120m/2 with t2 core and max skills (traveling time/moving/cycles) and 1 single drone costs 9-10 hours of mining while the whole ship with drones included is around 80-90 hours of mining to recover it if you lose it. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT? Check rorqual and excavator deaths all over the EVE universe they are already high and decent targets for normal fleets, not to mention a T3 that cloaks all day can kill an excavator in less than 10-15 seconds.
Rorquals are already balanced by the way booshers can strip you out of your drones or a small t3 fleet can kill them all before you can scoop them, or 3-4 bombers can one shot them, after then its it’s gonna take an absurd amount of time to get them back.
So you want a normal rorqual player to easily lose up to 100 hours of mining just like that? What is in your head when you come up with this kind of solutions?
TARGET THE REAL TROUBLES AND THE ONES WITH RIDICULOUS UNHUMAN NUMBER OF ACCOUNTS THAT RUIN THIS GAME!!! MAKE THAT REPORT TOOL USEFUL and add a way to COMMENT in it so those looking into it knows what to look at.
If you keep on hitting left and right on single/few account users it’s gonna cost you on the long run.
Everything that got nerfed needed it not becuase it was used by bot’s but becuase they where overpowered, level 4 and 5 missions are a different story and is a tragedy for alpha’s but needed to be done becuase of abuse of omega people with alpha alt’s.
This doesn’t really affect any big groups at all. Goons, Test, etc will just continue with exactly the same just getting more multiboxing (i.e. more subscriptions for CCP). NSA nerf also just ruins the smaller/more vulnerable group in any conflict - a single cloaky camper can cyno up and dreadbomb a super or bridge in a load of bombers onto a carrier the moment it starts running its NSA. Yes, supers are currently hard to catch if they know what they’re doing, but they’re flying 20-30bil worth of investment. Similarly rorqs have panic for fleet assistance to reach them - the bigger the group the faster they can form and the less time is needed for panic.
It’d be better to limit the number of rorqs able to mine a single anomaly/belt at once - maybe make industrial core not able to be activated within say 50km of another rorq in industrial core. Then people would have to spread out more to claim more anomalies, make use of more space and drive more conflict that way rather than turtling up. This would also push more rorqs outside of umbrella range, meaning that they’d have to spread their defensive fleets around - subcaps and regular caps could still ansiblex around but supercapital fleets would have to be more carefully deployed.
Actually, I don’t know why we bother giving feedback because CCP never actually listens… which is made apparent by this upcoming patch… just do what you want CCP, I don’t even care anymore. I wouldn’t even be playing this game anymore if my corp didn’t have such a good community.
How about, instead of messing with us you do something good for a change like opening up the station interiors, giving us a real home in our citadels instead of these hollow objects we just dock in. How about custom skins for alliances and corporations? How about citadel skins? Like, come on dudes.
Also this makes a single hulk properly mine more than a single excavator, at half the isk on field.
so Rorqs without drones are going to be a real thing.
