If CCP would have said “hey, times are tough. We lost a lot of subs from the sanctions, and inflation has been kicking in, and we don’t have a huge community of players here, so we’re going to need to ask you for more money, and we aren’t going to be able to do any major development,” I would have been willing to go along with that.
Instead, they pretended they had some huge new content update, and were apparently just flatly lying about that. So now it feels a whole lot dirtier to continue paying in.
Should we really be surprised at this point. The first clue should be the “doubling your isk” announcement in Jita 4-4, they actively encourage scamming, so why wouldnt they do so themselves.
yeah man i feel you when i was in harsh times ccp always cared for me and my welfare like every other company out there .But rly you are kinda ungrateful , you are w8 for new content but miss the hard work that ccp have put the last 2 years the industry changes the scarcity the fixing the economy staff the ess dps reserve banks …(honorable mentions black out , plex ads , dr who ) someone needs to pay for all that have been given to you alrdy , and since numbers are going down the cattle that stays around must pay the price .
Well I am shocked. I expected annoucement like whole new ship tree with dozen of ships or at least triglavian mining ships and new combat & mining drones, or new structures or at least a few drifter ships or something available to the capsuleers instead several times mentioned how old is this game and listenning what they archieved and boring irrelevant things from Devs lives, It looks like they were preparing for it few hours in advance. There is almost nothing valuable to old players. New hangars and some emblems ok, but that´s it ? Seriously ? And they have the arrogance to increase Omega price for no new content in last two years and not anything over the horizon .If I would do the same at my job I would be probably fired. I am glad that I did not go there after all. To be honest regular game development studio would do similar content update bi-monthly and free of charge.
Perhaps they run the numbers and found out that it is better to just find new players who will play&pay for at least 5-6 years until they find out that there is not enough content for the ridicculous month payment so luring new players might be cheaper than producing new content for older players ( new ships and races, factions or new weapon types you name it…)
Verdict : I pay for two Omegas each month and I wanted to start third but right now I am going to unsub on both and I will not buy omega again. I guess that I will not be only one- really good job CCP you just made first huge step towards financial suicide.
Fanfest day 2 UPDATE : CCP says that they wont show us new ships, modules and all other stuff because they want to surprise us in Q4 2022 so lets see where that goes
No, but CCP is probably subject to it (there are a bunch of factors the GDPR looks at, like whether you make the services available for purchase in EU currencies). You can only assert those rights, though, if you’re a resident of the European Economic Area.
The Art and visual effects guys are literally the only people on the dev team that earned thier paychecks and i for one have much love for those guys, but that still doesnt warrent a 34% price gauge. So CCP Ratatti hope you have a miricle to pull out of your ass tomorrow.
Nah. @CCP_Aurora’s earned trust. Despite Rattati taking credit for it, she’s the one who made sure the AT returned, and she’s been consistently working with the players to get things done.
For you maybe, though I was there listening and watching the livestream and from my angle where I was sitting I heard about new type of faction war which to me could be fun as I am mostly a solo player.
I also like skins and playing dress up so there’s that too!
