[Discussion] PLEX and Omega price changes feedback thread

They sort-of did while they were drooling over their MacOS release. There was a short episode in that part where they talked about how they make EVE platform agnostic and that that would enable them to release it on other platforms and OS.

REDNES

But did they say the “Linux” word?

That word is like “holy water” to companies.

They just cannot say it

Hello everyone,

So I took the time to watch each of the conferences of this Fanfest 22 - XIX…

Note n°1: the majority of the speakers are young people who did not even know Eve Online in its infancy; they are essentially young analysts of the dynamic data of the Tranquility server; they are disciplined and are at the sole service of CCP, but in no way that of the players…

Note n°2: the statistical analyzes presented to us are all oriented in the direction of the returns of Eve Online for the sole benefit of CCP; a few eloquent examples: increase in the average number of accounts per player, increase in the average destruction of player assets within New Eden, increase in playing time spent by a minority of players located completely above ground compared to the player base, etc.

Note n°3: even the so-called AIR expert systems are oriented in the direction of more profits for CCP, they are perfect tools for conditioning new players so that they become perfect cash cows for the benefit of CCP, but all these tools, which require no less than 70 hours of personal investment, are in no way tools aimed at encouraging free and natural social links within the game, and finally

Note n°4: nothing within these conferences addresses the questions that all of us here have been raising for weeks following the unexpected announcement of inflation of +33%…

Contrary to appearances, Eve Online is therefore well and truly on the verge of becoming a veritable cash machine on the backs of consenting pigeons (naive players), and this to the detriment of the technological evolution of the game itself, since even on this level, the announcements relating to the future evolutions of the game are absolutely not: we will undoubtedly change and as always cosmetics (example: towards new visuals of docking of the ships), but in no case of game play (example: no new ship maneuverability)…

Greed is therefore indeed a value in its own right of CCP, located alas! far beyond the original promises of the founding fathers of Eve Online: Stephen Ganade, please come back!

Moreover, all these Fanfests still do not finally give us a faithful image of the claims of the players themselves; they are nothing more than personal self-gratification sessions on the part of CCP Staff pretending to make the game more agnostic than ever; It’s just budding pseudo-scientific ■■■■■■■■…

New Eden has literally lost its child’s soul! It is now up to us alone to know if we are really ready to fight together to allow him to find her!

See my points 1-, 2- or 3- already mentioned under this thread…

Personally, faced with the contemptuous, even condescending attitude of CCP, I definitely opt for point 2-: turn your back on OMEGA as I have just done, because the time for the ALPHA revolution has indeed arrived ! Also, form the horde and join the revolution!

Try To Fly Safe Again.

Perhaps Eve (CCP) needs an existential threat to change.

Has Steam peaked also for Eve? See EVE Online - Steam Charts

Figure 1: Steam Eve charts

The thing i find soooo ■■■■■■■ annoying about all of this is the complete and utter ■■■■ CCP keeps spouting, the lack of transparency and the contradictions every single time a different moron from this company speaks up. CCP sends a complete retard onto the discord to do a shitty interview, and he makes massive promises on behalf of the company “wait for fanfest…largest content update weve ever done” and then they announce ZERO fuckin content at all. So why is your dev either completely inept at his job and has no fuckin clue what hes talking about, or hes a liar which is it CCP? why dont you ■■■■■■■ clarify all of these ■■■■■■■■ contradictions and vague responses. We as your PAYING customers deserve a fuckin answer if you want us to eat this 33% hike…

For each one of us this will come to an individual choice.
For me it is a matter of mathematics: Do I love Eve more than the extra money it will cost me to continue playing Eve?
After watching the fanfest content and not logging in the last three days, I have decided the answer is “Yes”.
I’m going to add six months of time using the current “pre-price hike” sale and reevaluate in November.
I find Eve satisfying in a way no other game has been able to match. Eve makes me feel things no other game has, so I stay. I stay even if Eve sometimes treats me badly (little to no new content, price increase).
Eve is a lot like my spouse. Leaving Eve is cheaper than a divorce however, so CCP gets another six months to prove they still love me.

Hint, they dont. They absolutely love you wallet but not you.

Very true. That’s the same with any for profit enterprise.
To be successful (keep me as a paying customer) they just need to make me feel like they do.

Why dont you comment with your ccp/isd main. Because youre probably just one of their alts. Pathetic worm

Yes i do agree but they didnt give me that feeling after ruining everything i like to do in the game. They ask me more for a broken game that has nothing left of what i used to love.

For me it is a matter of economics: Do I love playing Eve in Omega status more than the money I will spend, the time I will waste, and more than I hate being treated with contempt by CCP?

The answer is no. I’m unsubbing my main. I’ll play in Alpha mode whenever I get the bug to play Eve.

Alpha sucks.

True. But, it’s better than wasting time and money on a boring game by a company that treats its customers with contempt.

This is the place to voice your disgust at the way CCP has ruined a great game.

Yes, that too.

For the record, I’ve been told that Paragon apparently came in from his vacation time to do that Q&A. If that’s the case, then I suspect that the information he gave us was the information he had, but that it was likely outdated. I also suspect that, given the relatively recent ‘Not For Tranquility’ announcement, that the massive amount of content that was supposed to be coming was built at least in part around crypto / NFTs, and when that was scrapped, CCP was left scrambling for actual content to announce.

As a result, most of what was ‘announced’ was hastily-attached to the ‘IBc’ InterBux, when it had been planned as part of the crypto integration, and then a lot of the ‘here’s what we’re trying to do’, like Aurora’s FW presentation.

Personally, I think @CCP_Aurora did a fine job with the presentation, and her approach of ‘here’s what we’re looking at. This is all in the conceptual stages and PLEASE come to the round table Saturday Afternoon so we can get your ideas about this and integrate them into the design’ is exactly the right approach. She’s proven in the past that she is listening, and she is making an effort to deliver what the customers are actually interested in receiving.

If you can’t afford cigarets or alcohol or watching sports is it the problem of the business providing said goods/service or is it yours?

It’s the tax added to bump the price. Since you used that example.

Wait until they slap a digital online services tax for gaming once they start looking for more tax revenues having wasted the last bunch.
