[Discussion] PLEX and Omega price changes feedback thread

except it isn’t a raise, how did you figure out it is a raise?

They are selling a product and that product needs to be price pointed. Its got nothing to do with the idea of a raise.

Significant is the key word here. $5 a month more for this game? You can’t possibly be serious.

“This change allows us to adapt to global trends

And I thought “Wow, they’re going to offer regional prices, like FFXIV and many others MMO’s do, so my country’s shitty economy won’t stop me anymore from subbing!”.

But no, it just goes from hard to pay, to impossible. A monthly subscription to EVE now costs more than 3x an FFXIV or WoW sub does here. I like space, but f*** me, I guess I’ll go back to playing with elves and sh*t.

Well, I’ve been wondering if I should go alpha for a long time. I don’t really play enough to justify the money I spend for a yearly subscription, so CCP has finally made up my mind for me. So long Omega. I’ll miss you. Probably won’t really bother with the Alpha, either.
A shame. I’ve had some good times.

Skill farmers won’t be too badly affected, I think. Only relatively new players will end up doing more.

I reckon the ISK price of skill injectors will simply rise together with the PLEX price. Omega is up, so the skill injectors won’t seem worse by comparison.

Well thats an unsub from me

They want more money for the same product. A product they have made no improvements on over the last 3 years—only varying degrees of self-inflicted damage, and a very slight bit of damage mitigation, but no actual improvement.

This isn’t a change they felt they needed a month ago, or two months ago, and according to the quarterly investor call reports, CCP’s been posting profits for PA, meaning the current price point was giving them the money they need. Which means this is more money they want, but do not need.

They want more money for nothing. Yeah, I’m’a call that a raise.

Wow, this game is officially too expensive to play . . thanks alot.

20 bucks per month… its nothing.

please tell me this is sarcasm

Oh … And you’re just damn bastards. You first turned this game into ■■■■ when the changes started 3-4 years ago. And now they have raised the price))) Hello players, let’s go on strike and not play for many months!
Glory to Ukraine!

So after being a loyal eve player for many years, with the changes you have made, good and bad. i have stuck it out. I have tried my best to enjoy the game. spending many many hours doing things all over the place. sadly… this is the final straw. for a game i am barely enjoying anymore. I will be unsubbing my accounts and moving on to other things.

@CCP thank you for the many great memories, but time to find something new.

It’s like… you want us to stop playing EVE.

First off, let’s not for one moment confuse the ability to code with adroit business sense. If conflating the two is your idea of ‘smart people’, then I think that says a lot about just who the smart people in the room really are.

Like, the people who’ve accurately predicted the results of every change CCP’s made, over and over again, for a decade or so, while CCP’s ‘smart people’ have consistently gotten it wrong? Yeah, they might have more of a clue.

Yes, you should. And so should CCP.

20 Bucks *10 for the needed Alts = 200 a Month … thats nothing.

than everyone cancels the Alts and were just 3k Player left xP even less in summer.

CCP: Worth it!

no I am being completely serious with you.

I do not want to support the game by being coached to the market and flogged discount spam.

I do want to support the game with a simple subscription price that is honoured and not discounted every other fortnight.

So this change is perfect for me in all honestly.

Brilliant idea. Price increase for nothing. My alts will be first to go unfortunately.

The current sub-price is the industry standard at this point. CCP’s customers are also feeling the pinch of inflation and everything else. Monetization has ALWAYS been billed as a way to keep sub prices static to keep more players in the game (not everyone has a lot of liquid cash for hobbies like me) by providing value adds that were optional.

CCP wants it both ways, while making a mess of the game.

No. People are already looking for ways to deal with the increase in day to day living costs.

Worst. Timing. Ever

dude, its $5 dollars more per month, if you have such rationoned and scarce liquidity that you cannot suffer the price of a coffee per month, I don’t think you should be on the computer in the first place.
