Do problem players have any responsibility to change their own behavior?

Well, there you guys go! Don’t feel so bad! A neuro-atypical, non-native English speaking forum carebear thinks you guys are very articulate!

@discobot quote Ok last time, I wont troll will discobot anymore (hopefully) :spoon:

Yeah it was a dumb post

hmmm
not speaking English as a native language
and being neuro diverse are for you naturally
indicative of lesser worth and yet

for myself I only mentioned my autism in context to another poster,

the context itself you missed because as you said

‘Seems like that’s what these forums have become. A-typical people asking us to be nice to them in a way that is so long and tediously convoluted that by the end of it you wind up not liking them just for that.’

Why would I ask anyone to be nice to me, I have a disability, but I am not a victim.

Your prejudices are obvious, I wonder if you are as ‘typical’ as you think you are?

Given a non-english speaker would spend more time trying to get it right than a “native”, why wouldn’t he have a good appreciation for it delivered well?

Who are what told you you’re having autism? :crystal_ball:

Is it because you change your prices on the market by 0.01 ISK you automatically assume you have autism or something? :seedling:

OP, the bounds of EVE’s morality have been set by the game’s designers. There exists no compulsion on a player to modify hisher behaviour, as long as those bounds are not exceeded. The player may adopt the game’s morality or replace it with hisher own - within the rules.

What your thread heading posits, in a naïve way, is that ‘problem players’ should jolly well behave themselves, whatever the game’s designers’ intentions. That you disguise this as a question, supposedly for discussion, illustrates your own lack of forethought. You could have come to a conclusion yourself, without our help, and made this odd thread instantly redundant.

So, rewording your title, we get this: ‘Problem Players Should Change Their Behaviour’ - Discuss

I’m afraid most people will respond to that bald statement with an equally bald reply: Why?

Now you can see how empty it all is, I hope.

If you want an answer to the question ‘Why do you (problem player) behave badly in EVE Online?’

Here’s one:

‘Because I can.’

Can’t argue with that.

Interestingly enough, there was a much broader picture with the telemarketers. Alone, they’re merely annoying.

If anyone else remembers the 1990s, they weren’t alone. They were legion, and they were seriously obnoxious. That’s why we have the do-not-call list. They had to respect that list and the non-stop ringing of the phone while you were eating dinner went down. We quit bothering to pick up the phone because the typical value of a phone call at dinner time was less than zero.

We’re right back there again, because the new breed of mostly scammers (with a few idiot telemarketers who tend not to last long) has learned to lie to caller ID services. It’s actually advantageous to have a non-local phone number these days because you can filter all your “local” phone numbers. Until everyone uses that trick and they adapt again. Or everyone just cancels voice service because all the scammers made it worse than useless.

I worked as a telemarketer for a few months.
I wasnt very good at it (apparently) and the product was crap.
If its any consolation to those that hate them, I can tell you its utterly soul-destroying to hear “no” in myriad ways hundreds of times a day, weeks on end.

Even worse, pretty much the only time Id get an order was when I managed to sweet-talk/manipulate some elderly befuddled pensioner out of their small purse, that was either labile, desperate for some human attention or hoping to make some last contribution to the supposed betterment of mankind before their passing.

Id rather clean subway toilets than ever do that again.
Atleast thats good, honest work with meaning and usefulness.
Pity them, for their life is miserable.

No dude as well as being an eve meme its actually a real thing!

No assumptions here I’m afraid.

And sometimes I change orders by 632 isk, or even 315, it depends on circumstances.

You didn’t answer the question, does that mean it’s self proclaimed? :cheese:

No dude I’ve got a diagnosis, like I said, no assumptions here

315? 315! OMG…he is a James 315 accolyte! Burn her! Burn her!

I’m no one’s accolyte, but I couldn’t resist having a tickle, wondered if anyone would pick up on it

Most people on this forum here are only people pushing their agendas, and bullying others away from the forum to limit other voices.

Just look at this topic I made where nearly everyone here is telling me that it is my fault
Which is about a group of people doing a sort of population control in pandemic horde when our main fleet active numbers coincidentally reaches in 190 towards 200. :ok_man:

Im not really sure what you expected. As another pointed out GD isnt really the place for reporting that.

If its an issue with harrassment, you need to ticket support.

I have no idea what your affliations are, but having the word Pandemic in there gives me a clue and I can’t say Id be leaping to help, if I was of the mind to get involved in NullPol.

I’m confused. I’ve read most of this thread but I can’t seem to recall in any of the posts anyone asking you for help. Which post was this a response to?

(Morgan’s Snipe misses Ramona McCandless entirely)

Your transversal projection is sub-optimal.

No, seriously. What are you talking about? Can you link the post or something? I’ve completely lost the train of the thread.
