Dream Ships

I’d love a hello Kitty skinned Rhea for myself, minus the ganking part.:heart_eyes::heart_eyes:

Who’d Gank a… (I’mma stop myself there)…

I do love the Liberator from Blake’s Seven for what it’s worth @Cristl, but I’d also have to say that I also love the retro industrial styling that has been applied to the design for the Space Battleship Yamato (that’s the first picture in my original post that you referred to in yours).

Fair enough, but my comment that:

I still stand by. It just doesn’t look anything like a spaceship to me. Each to his own, I guess.

I would like a Marauder class ship that follows along the ship design of a Gallente drone ship line, i.e. along the line of an escort class carrier of WW2. This would allow players who focused on drones to have a class of ships beyond BS. This would also allow for those of us who would love to try out carrier-like mechanics, but do not belong to any null or losec corporation. These Jeep-class carriers would,of course, be comparable in power to the existing Marauder class ships. All other weapon systems have a Marauder that complements their T2 BS main weapon class progression, why not drones?

I might try to make a mashup from the existing SoE hulls to build an destroyer - when I have the time, which is not before August… err, make that September, I’m on holidays in August. :dealwithitparrot:

But if you like to look at pictures here are two spaceships out of the X3-Series by Egosoft, which I personally like to look at:

Boron M7M Krake

Pirate M2 Brigantine

There might be lore in the way… but you could solve that by adding other lore saying it’s cool.
And actually I like the idea to fly a “mini-carrier” a lot. :+1:

Babylon 5 ship fan I take it?

Personally I’d like to see some more aggressive wedge shaped destroyers make it into game.

Or just you know, some more destroyers in general. Navy Issue actually appearing for that ship class would be nice.

Gonna move this to Out of Pod since it’s got a lot of non-eve related content in it.

In EVE, I always wanted the Megathron Federate Issue, but Entity would never sell it to me back when I was a player :frowning:

Outside of EVE without a doubt the Millennium Falcon*

*No, that’s not where my dev name comes from!

Possibly because it’s a stylized version of the original Yamato’s bow?

More Space Cruiser Yamato goodness here …

Yes, it’s a style that I personally think is ridiculous. The original warship had a much less pronounced bulbous bow, and now we have a spaceship which is displacing what? The luminiferous aether?

I personally think it’s a bit crap. Sorry about having an opinion. Flag my post if you think I’m out of line. It’s available from the ellipsis menu (…)

Haha. Okay, if that car-park erection is anything to go by then we are not going to see (jap’s) eye-to-eye.

The space Yamato discussion will have to end here.

Have fun everyone, I’ll see you in space

Uhhhm… gettin’ a little defensive, aren’t you?

Q: Why would they do that?
A: It might be artistic license from the real thing.

Response: ‘Well it’s dumb. Now lemme get passive-aggressive about saying it’s dumb.’

Cuz, you know, you got an opinion. Ok? Seriously, if having an opinion is ‘out of line’ 2/3 of the forums need to just never accept posts. Just, you know… chill, maybe?

Star Blazers was awesome in it’s time. Yes, the design of Space Battleship Yamato was more than a little odd, but it was the Japanese (not “japs”…c’mon, what kind of garbage is that?..and who’s this “we” you refer too?..speak for yourself) and they tend to design things that seem a bit odd sometimes. Not a big deal, imo.

Offence is taken, not given. The word “jap” is not, in general, taken as a slur, especially not here in Hong Kong (nor in Britain, at least not up until I left in the early nineties). Besides, “jap’s eye” is a specific phrase, I’ve literally never heard anyone make remarks on it being a racial slur.

“We” …well, I’ll leave you to figure out how pronouns are used. It’s too big a topic for an Internet spaceship forum. You can check out the difference between to and too while you’re there.
