I’m not a ganker nor a pirate, but i really love changes in the game. Because it is the traders, miners and carebears who make EVE boring. Someone have to ruin your little fragile afk-bot-ratting world at last.

might more a case of TRig’s settling a planet and the capture of the local sun with their sun energy trap structure CCP released concept art of a while ago.
the crystal structure in the video clearly shows it forming a protective dome over an existing constructed city.
and the gates shutting down is most likely due to the lose of energy from the sun due the the Trig energy trap structure being built around the sun.
to me it looks like CCP is about to release the Trig NPC corps with missioning agents and make the Trig have actual standings, that players can gain or loose like all other standings.
what will be interesting is if LP stores will be available as part of that and what would they offer to players.
the video leaves alot of unanswered questions.

Because when they launch it it’s always still so buggy that it takes them a few days to fix it and anything else they break in the process so that it’s actually working almost as intended come the weekends when the weekend warriors log in

Current online numbers are similar to early 2008.

Numbers are about the same level as 2008 it seems.
Tho way down compared to 2010 thru to 2013 and the trend seems to be slowly downwards with the odd bump up - prob where past players log back in or new players sign up to see what new hyped thing has done to the game … and then leave (again) disappointed and disillusioned.

I contest this. I think people just see what they want to see. Numbers have been stable for 5+ years, with the exception of blackout (or the bot purge, depending on what you believe) and the introduction of alpha clones.
