Edencom and Trig factions are a problem

its a lot easier to get the standings up without running for days on end to barely get a dent in the standings.

unfortunately USIA can’t help on this, but i can give you some advice

fit up a rail cormorant as cheaply as possible, targeting range to about 80km, use a filament to enter pochven and look for Cosmic Anomaly “Incipient Drone Swarm”, warp to 80km and shoot the drones that are present there (leave if a big drone, battleship or larger, spawns). Shooting these drones will award you positive standing to both trigs and edencom.

Standings ticks are awarded based on the “largest” thing you shoot every 15mins. So killing 5 drones or 1 drone does not matter. The best method is shoot 1 drone in the swarm, then find a different system (with its own 15min timer) and shoot a drone there, and repeat until your standings to both trig and edencom are positive.

No, I don’t know what you are whining about. It is very easy to manipulate the Edencom and Trig standings, frankly, in my opinion it’s too easy.

Here are my standings:

As you can see, I recently made peace with Edencom. A long time ago, in my zeal to address the bot crisis, I ganked an Edencom bot cruiser. Unfortunately, they seem to have a long memory, and I accepted a generous offer from Edencom High Command. I agreed to go into the Pochven hellscape, on a secret quest to probe the rogue drone defenses. I have been rewarded richly for my efforts, with millions of isk. Amazing content. I even caught a runaway miner!

I personally think the mechanics of EvE should remain complicated and esoteric, as that forces people into divergent niches. If you want to adjust your standings, you will have to go out there and do it, instead of whining in the forums.

Cool story bro.

You didn’t get it in a matter of hours, and you apparently had far, far less of a rep grind to eek out than I do. I spent 4 days grinding for a few hours at a time, and all I got was from -.25 to -.19. I’m not willing to spend 13 days grinding in pochven, and I shouldn’t have to. Nobody should be KOS with anything less than a -2.0, as has been the standard in EVE Online since 2006.

It’s bad. It’s dumb. Your “F you, got mine” mentality does not lend any credibility to anything you say. If anything, it makes my points of how dumb this entire rep system is all the more valid.

Happy that you got that kill and ruined someone’s week

Your actions in outer space have eternal consequences.

You need to take a little responsibility. Remember, you betrayed all of your Highsec mining friends, and chose to side with the Triglavian botlords. Edencom remembers your crimes, even if you have long forgotten about your terrible deeds. A capsuleer like you should stop crying so much. Aren’t you a graduate of the Republic Military School? Pull yourself together!

You think I went to REPUBLIC?!

Please, I went to Science and Trade. A prestigious university that requires more than pulse for admission :hugs:

Roleplaying aside, it’s still stupid.

You know what else is stupid and non-sensical? Faction warfare enlistment timers.

Why am I being penalized from joining another militia by 24 hours? Why, when I left one player corporation, and joined another player corporation (which also too 24 hours before I could quit. Why???) was I kicked out of Cal Mil arbitrarily? It makes no sense. Here I am, actively trying to engage in what little enjoyable content this game has to offer, and CCP thinks hey, let’s make it as arduous and tedious as is possible! Brilliant!

Not only that, but I have to travel to one of their dumb systems to enlist. In the age of interplanetary, galaxy spanning space travel, where I can harness the power of literal anti-matter and clone my consciousness from one meat bag to another in cryo-sleep 900,000,000 light years away, I can’t enlist with the Angel Cartel unless I’m in Doril, 49 jumps away because I have to avoid EDENCOM space because this game is dumb and bad.

Looks like I need to sign a physical paper enlistment contract with wet ink from a literal pen

I’m going to get beer this game is so GD stupid.

Well, you certainly are a liar.

This is an alt. I didn’t realize.

Anyway, my previous post is still a very good question.

Well, just imagine what EDENCOM has to say about you.

I imagine it’s like this.

“Gateflash.”

“Who is it?”

“Dunno. Wait for decloak”

“OMG IT’S KORRVIK TORGADDON! SCANNER INDICATES HE HAS -0.19 REPUTATION WITH
EDENCOM!!! HE MUST HAVE… SCRATCHED THE PAINT ON ONE OF OUR SHIPS BACKING OUT OF PAYE 3 YEARS AGO!!!”

Adjusts Goggles

“Kill him.”

This is a bad game.

Are you seriously pretending you never shot at EDENCOM?

I’m nearly certain, yea. I know I joined a Triglavian player corp who did PVP in Trig ships, but no, we didn’t roam around or engage against Edencom.

You know who I’ve shot at a lot? Pirate factions. My lowest pirate faction rep is -3, and I’ve shot Guristas for more than a decade. It’s taken thousands of destroyed guristas rats and I’m only at -3.

I don’t remember ever engaging with EDENCOM once, and yet, having less than a quarter of a point of negative rep with them is enough to get them to instakill me in less than a second.

Because this is a bad, stupid, not fun at all game, full of braindead mechanics

You said you did ‘stuff’ for Triglavian.

What did you do?

By chance, did you happen to help them steal a star system?

Nearly certain I didn’t.

I didn’t stick around long enough for that patch to deploy. All I did was train for Trig ships, fly in a Trig RP corp, and do pvp. We didn’t fight edencom, I’m nearly certain.

Even if we did (which I’m nearly certain I did not,) being at -0.19 should NOT be enough to be KOS by overtuned, god-tier ships that blap armor tanked cruisers in less than a second.

I see, but I wonder sometimes if maybe that involved Edencom?

I’m not sure you a credible witness.

However, you did confess to being part of a “Trig RP corp”, which makes it hard to believe you never tried to steal a star system. Indeed, your own standings indicate that you are a war criminal. I fully confess that without reason or merit I deliberately and intentionally attacked an Edencom cruiser, mercilessly slaughtering the crew for no reason other than my own curiosity about whether I could kill them… what you did though, trying to steal a star system, was much worse.

:police_car: :oncoming_police_car:

I think this is a case of “roleplay around, and roleplay it out”.

Remember, Korrvik here is an alt barely a month old.

This isn’t my main.

I can say with certainty that I wasn’t ever involved in stealing a star system.

says the guy who was

All that means is we wore the trig clothes for our PFPs and flew trig ships and put an AWESOME ASCII triglavian icon in our bios

Ah, but why are your EDENCOM standings so low?

I wonder if it has anything to do with the missing star systems?

:crystal_ball:

A real mystery!

You put them on, now you gotta wear them!

Cost the less players then suicide ganking in HS.
Due to ganking, Eve has lost more players than it has ever had.
Dont get me wrong , i dont care about the ganking stuff, but many others dont.

ccp says otherwise. at least for newbies anyway… i do know a few that quit over ganking however.
