[EN][RU] Misleading Omega Offer in Russian Client – No SP Granted After Purchase

[EN] Misleading Omega Offer in Russian Client — No SP Granted After Purchase

Hello,

I’m writing this post because I’ve been trying to resolve this issue through the support system for more than two weeks with no success. I believe this problem affects not only me, but potentially other players using the Russian localization of the EVE client.

On May 27th, 2025, I purchased 12,000 PLEX for real money through the official in-game store. Shortly after, I used 6,600 PLEX to purchase a 24-month Omega subscription directly through the “Subscriptions and Omega Status” menu.

In the Russian-language client, the product description clearly stated:

“Receive 15,552,000 additional SP!”

This was shown as a guaranteed bonus, not as estimated skill gains from training. There was no mention of injectors, bundles, or projections — it was direct and specific.

However, after the purchase, I received only the subscription. The 15,552,000 SP were not granted. When I contacted support, I was told that I had misunderstood the offer, and that it was merely a reference to potential training gains from having Omega status. But that is not what the description said.

I’ve provided screenshots, translations, and detailed explanations to several GMs over the course of this discussion, but the replies have become repetitive and dismissive.

This was a real-money decision — I would not have spent $270+ without the clearly stated SP bonus. At this point, I am seeking one of the following:
• The promised 15,552,000 SP to be delivered to my character BedBooks Arthie,
OR
• For this case to be escalated to the product/localization team for correction and follow-up.

I am not seeking compensation beyond what was explicitly offered. I simply want the transaction honored based on how it was presented in the official CCP interface.

I urge CCP to take this case seriously, as misleading advertising — even via localization — has real-world consequences when real money is involved.
Since I’m a new forum user, I can’t attach screenshots

BedBooks Arthie,

Then you have certainly misunderstood.
The Omega Packet allows you to learn exactly this amount of skill points over the duration of the Omega Subsciption.

The picture you posted shows exactly that.

Thank you for your input. However, I must clarify — this is not a misunderstanding.

The Russian-language description in the client very clearly states:

“Получите 15 552 000 дополнительных СП!”
(Which literally means: “Get 15,552,000 additional SP!” — not “train”, not “potentially earn”, not “up to” — but “receive”)

There is no mention of training, injectors, or skill rates in the line — it’s phrased as a direct bonus granted with the purchase.

Several other offers were available in the same menu, but only this one had such a claim. This directly influenced my decision to spend 6,600 PLEX (purchased with real money).

I’ve already submitted a support ticket and escalated it to CCP Legal.

I’m not trying to stir drama — I just believe this is a clear case of misleading marketing in one language, and it should be corrected or compensated fairly.

Thank you for your comment and perspective — it’s always good to hear feedback from other players.

I just want to clarify an important detail:

In the examples linked earlier, the players received exactly what was described, even if the underlying intent or mechanics were different (e.g. 2-for-1 offers that didn’t behave as expected).

In my case, however, I did not receive what was clearly stated in the offer — the Russian client literally says:

“Get 15,552,000 additional SP” (not “can train”, not “up to”, not “over time”) — and this bonus was never granted.

So the core issue is not about interpretation, but about a discrepancy between what was promised in text and what was delivered.

Again, I appreciate your reply — this kind of community input helps clarify things and strengthens the discussion.

Very similar happened to me and CS is playing dumb.
The offer was to upgrade to Omega (after a lapse of about 6 months) and a number of incentives were offered. I would not have upgraded without the ‘bonus’.
Clearly stated as (just shy of) 2,000,000 skill points (the figure started at 1,600,00 and increased).
This is in Australia on the regular client.
CS claim no knowledge of the incident but clearly this was associated with the ‘patch notes’ for the Omega icon appearing in the Neocom menu.
I too would like to receive the bonus … otherwise this is just a scam!
