EVE Is Dangerous. Yeah Right

Even if they all were PvP-ers and gankers the numbers show that those who supposed to replace them are nowhere to be found.

I do not have any answers i’m just a Noctis pilot sucking up the detritus thats floating in space. Most people I know in Eve keep themselves to themselves and a lot of the shouting is done by players wanting to keep pvp alive. But don’t quote me on that I’m just a wreck sucker after all.

Me neither, but i know that the population decline is not a hisec pvp issue, it’s wider than that.

It’s a tricky game to balance, a lot of factions to appease.

This new activity tracker should give us an idea of what may be happening, and for what reasons people are quitting over. A nice feature glad its here.

And a cultural issue also, that’s not the kind of game people really enjoy nowadays.

Christ Veers, I’m kinda glad you’re back. But… seriously, switch to fecking decaf already.

Today is no different from yesterday. It’s all the same day. By your reasoning EVE should have already died a long time ago. It didn’t because it didn’t cater the mewling masses spewing forth their nonsense about being safe in ā€˜high security’ space. CCP has on more than one occasion flatly stated that even though high sec is ā€˜safer’ than other sectors of space it was never intended to be completely ā€˜safe’.

ā– ā– ā– ā–  the majority. That has been the way of life for EVE for fifteen bloody years. It is NOT a game for the majority, the majority can go wank off in WoW and STO and SWG… oh wait that one choked to death on it’s own carebeariness… ignore that bit. EVE is and always has been a niche game, and that niche has kept it alive where others would fail. It’s never going to be the most popular game out there, and yes… it sheds new players like no other. It fails to retain 90% of those who try it, because it’s not the game for them.

Now, here’s the hard pill to swallow, you insufferable little scrotal tumor… THIS IS WORKING AS INTENDED.
We do not want players here who will not enjoy the game as it is. We love this game, and YES we do want to see it improve… HOWEVER, we do not consider compromising the soul of this game in order to see it retain more players as a form of improvement. That is ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  heresy and merits a jolly good burning at the stake.
Color within the lines if at all possible, and for the love of all that is unholy, please PLEASE stop eating the goddamned crayons.

That was the problem.

The only thing thats going to keep the game going, the only thing engaging enough to keep players interested, the only thing self sustaining and the very thing that drives a real market in a sandbox is the pvp playerbase.

But nerf pvp in the hope that loads of new players flood the game, just resulted in pvp players leaving or not being replaced by new pvp players. Meanwhile the carebears that were supposed to come instead, never did in anything near the numbers anyone hoped. And those that did, never stayed for long (like they never stay in any game for long. Even wow players don’t play longer than a couple years. Where as eve’s pvp players last 5-10 years, or even longer for some)

Anyways, that’s my rant. Alienate the core playerbase, sold the golden goose.

Those ā€œrhis game is not for youā€ states are pure nonsense if your dogmatic opinion let’s you loose 90% of all possible players.

This is not reasonable…

More mainstreams means more players staying and less pvp in high means the same simply because pvp stays the MINORITY of players and your buisness goal has to be the MAJORITY.

So facing the mainstream wind is not bad at all it just will lift EVE out of the niche and this is in no way bad…

Yes…some PVP’er will ragequit but they are dispensable, the gain will be big enough to compensate the dogmatic people who simply do not want to see that a change is indispensable.

A change will come and this is good news…

…곧 ā„¢

History shows different.

If anyone who has ever played a game is a ā€˜potential player’, then i cannot think of any game that has captured anywhere near 90% of potential players.

What you expect is unrealistic of any game. And you’re solution that all games should be the same or similar by copying eachother is retarded at best.

You should go tell Gordon Ramsey he would be more successful by copying the mcdonalds menu.

That’s what they said about wardec nerfs in 2012. About ganking nerfs. About removing friendly fire in corps. About the suspect flag. About making eve free to play. About removing the watch list. About nerfing ninja-salvaging.

And yet here we are still waiting on the influx of players that are going to replace the pvp’rs.

You mean the history in which an approach like this was never tried beside some half-hearted minimal attempts that could not work that way and that were tried to shut down by the loudmouthed pvp minority from the first second because of the inconvinience it caused to them?

Well that’s an interesting way to look at ā€œthe historyā€ā€¦
I would rather call it history falsification…

In fact it was NEVER tried…but it has to be now and the big mouths have to be ignored completly…should they ragequit no pity about them.

Another example would be telling Morgan to make lots of modern cars instead of limited numbers of glorious anachronisms from the past.

From what I can see he doesn’t understand the term niche, if it’s not mainstream it’s not worth it as far as he’s concerned.

Beeing right is beeing right…

Ir’s no risk in stating the right thing even if you have the world against you…the world is not right just because it’s the world…

Pa/CCP’s actions will show you how right i am…maybe you will not like it but one thing you cannot say : that nobody told you it would happen

You know what else was never tried?

Going back to a more pvp focused game.

You go on and on about how what you want will save the game. And this isn’t the first time you’ve done it if what another just said is true. And if it is, you got what you wanted back then too, but did you stick around to enjoy getting what you wanted? No…none of you cretins did.

Same old ā– ā– ā– ā– . Same result.

But let’s do it some more. It’ll work this time, right?

Are you as certain of yourself in real life?

Do you know what the differences between opinion and fact are?

Do you consistently blame others for your failings in real life too?

Do you have a moustache and live somewhere that’s close to the arctic circle?

Because your whole spiel smacks of Salvos.

Either way, egotistical, uninformed, close minded, lowest common denominator, nitwit confirmed.

People who want mcdonalds goto mcdonalds. People who like ford mondeos buy ford mondeos.

Right…
More PVP instead of less as it has to be in an already 99% PVP focused game is THE solution…
