EVE Is Dangerous. Yeah Right

By ccp thanos

There is another game I play which is the epitome of ā€œmainstreamā€, and it has already lost more than 90% of all the players (by number of accounts, and by their own statistics). It’s also a PVE haven (especially after recent changes). I’m sure you know its name.

I played warhammer fantasy for almost 20 years. Then they killed the universe and made a newer, simpler, less adult themed and generally more accessible game aimed at the mainstream teen audience. I stopped playing. No rage quitting, just a complete drainage of enthusiasm.

Killing the hisec Pvp will do the same for me, I will probably have to try sexual slavery, poker enter politics or learn some other adult themed game.

The biggest game trend in China is competitive 5v5 or 3v3 Pvp. This is happening to eve. This will probably expand and maybe have a partially separate mini server similar to similar to host competitions, however without earnings or asset losses being transferred back into main server.

If you are sad at this and wish to leave the game. I would be happy to take responsibility over your isk and high value possessions.

How can people play this game for any period of time and not realise that everything in EvE is either direct PvP or fuelled by PvP.

Stop PvP in an area of the game and it will crumble to ash…

But… PvP is fuelled by PvE. :sunglasses:

Which is in turn pvp, because people compete to provide pvp’ers with things

And the purpose of PvE is to get isk to spend on expendable items to achieve some arbitrary goal you’ve set for yourself.

PvP’ers understand that we need to farm isk to spend on ships. So yes, PvE activities are one of the ways to gain ISK.

So why can’t PvE’ers understand that without PvP, there is no purpose to their grind? Without assets leaving the game, there is no demand. The markets would be over saturated and no one would be able to sell their stuff.

Eve relies on both PvP’ers and industrialists to work. But if you look at industry margins, you will see that not enough items leave the game fast enough, so many items out there are left with little to no profits. So we definitely do not need more safety.

Balos, seriously. Losing 90% of new players is exactly what EVE has always been about. We fecking LOVE the 1 out of 10 that stays. The other nine are dross to us, and more than welcome at other games.
It has never been for everyone, ever. I migrated here from the graceless death of Earth and Beyond at EA’s hands and found myself in something strange and different… and to be honest I had a hard time adapting at first.

I derped into low sec to do a mission and lost the ship that was pretty much my life savings… because I didn’t understand.

I tried null sec with a gang of wannabe pirates and got evicted, painfully losing half of my worldly possessions on the way out.

I ragequit twice.

I did high sec PVE bullshite for years after that until I was pretty much ready to pull a David Carradine in my closet and end it all when Jamwara offered me cookies and murder in exchange for joining up with their crew.

I took the chance, I got taught how to do violent harm to my fellow man and to love doing it.
I have never looked back since, and only grew to love the game more as I experienced more nuanced approaches to murder in high sec from there on out.

What you are preaching is rot and heresy and simply put vulgar in my eyes and the eyes of so many others who dwell under CONCORD’s watch while bathing in the blood of their enemies.

It wont make the game better, no matter how loudly you howl. If you do actually get your way you will be instrumental in killing the very thing that you claim to care so deeply about. I mean, I suppose you can enjoy the fact that you will have ruined the game for tens of thousands as you watch the thing shut down for the final time… but then there you will stand, alone and vindicated in that you were fecking RIGHT in the ashes of the world you once loved.

Stop being a twat and back off.

It’s totally stupid to nanny just one kind of gameplay at all costs and let the others suffer.

The game should have a global approach and should make ALL playstyles possible by actual PROTECTIG them from PVP…

That would be far more reraonable than the current situation.

None of your constant armageddon prophecies for a changed eve will effect this stupidity…

It’s just YOUR game that would change…not the game of ALL players…

And this is what you are constantly ignoring…

Yeah…must be hurting guys like you that people that see it coming miles away even DARE to be right…and this beside the fact that guys like you(and i’m generalizing deliberately) tried EVERYTHING to devalue their posts and called them idiots…

Really really sry about yourself you must be

Ironically, this is exactly what you’re asking for.

The game should have a global approach and should make ALL playstyles possible

The game is equally harsh on everybody and ALL playstyles ARE already possible; you just don’t like that your playstyle may conflict with that of others, or that to avoid that conflict you may have to engage your brain and plan ahead.

Which is the whole 'king point of a game like Eve.

It’s just YOUR game that would change…not the game of ALL players…

And this is what you are constantly ignoring…

Do you know what an oxymoron is, because this is an oxymoron.

If we were ignoring that you wish to see PvP kicked out of hisec, and that it would change the game for all hisec PvP players; we wouldn’t be posting.

BTW you didn’t acknowledge my reply to your ā€œlink it or it’s not trueā€ challenge, do you still stand behind your claim about manual and automatic transmissions?

Yeah…out of highsec, not out of the game…and this is where all your arguments begin to flaw…

PVP will not be killed…it will be moved…

You still can have your precious pvp ingame…but let PVE live their lives…this is not asked too much

We shall see. My unsubscribed status and activity purely as a PVE player as an alpha means that currently any damage your ilk will undoubtedly inflict upon this game will affect me minimally.

I’ve had lots of fun at the expense of guys like you (and i’m generalizing deliberately). So thanks, I guess.

You can take my game, but you can’t take my memories (or have your isk back).

Still an oxymoron.

How about you address the part where you say :

It’s totally stupid to nanny just one kind of gameplay at all costs and let the others suffer.

Yet your entire existence on the forums consists of asking CCP ā€œto nanny just one kind of gameplay at all costs and let the others suffer.ā€?

ā€œTake your gameā€ā€¦

This is not your game…

It’s the game of many and most of them are annoyed by PVP…

Simply get this at least…PVP is a minority and not the centre of the world not even in this game

Something you would do well to remember.

Utter twatwaffle.

my whole existence is about a safe spot for all those that DON’T WANT PVP…not about aming PVP in whole and make it impossible…

Bottom line is YOU(PVP) are just a tiny slice of the game and do not DESERVE the current status…it was a flaw from 2003 onward to make so much space for PVP…and now…slowly but surely CCP begins(under the agneda of the needs of PA) to realize how wrong they were…

Astounding, isn’t it? You couldn’t make this ā– ā– ā– ā–  up.

He doesn’t lift, bro. He’s PVE all the way.

Generalizing is for knobs m8.

What are you not getting? Have you tried listening and reading instead of typing? It really helps when debating.
