Sad part is, even if they were more engaging, I probably still wouldn’t bother because of the “disconnect = death” thing. EVE servers are down to DDOS or socket closes practically every day. I know, socket closes aren’t technically on CCP’s end, but they’re super common and only in this game because CCP is too vulnerable to network issues for whatever reason.
Almost a 4-hour outage today.
You know what “buffing” means? It means increasing the value of the loot drop … how do you achieve that? Make the sites harder, reduce the loot drop quantity, make more people die at entrance, …
Fair enough. It just doesn’t seem like much of a buff. With the drop rate lowered as it is, it isn’t worth attempting now. I’ll give it another shot in a couple months.
The problem is the nature of the loot itself. The drops are pretty much 100% mutaplasmids or parts to build crappy niche ships. Since mutaplasmids are random and usually just brick your expensive mod, they aren’t loot that will hold high value, since you need a bunch of them to maybe get something good. If these things don’t drop more raw isk or mods that are worth farming for, the value will just go further and further down.
When nearly every other PVE activity gives raw ISK or set, high-quality mods, the risk involved in these makes them absolutely terrible.
Or you know, add more loot that gets sold to NPC’s ala Red loot.
Which lets them set an effective ‘minimum’ income per site, with RNG possibly giving the cherry on top sometimes.
Yeah, forgot about the red loot. Maybe this is a solution here, but CCP must be carefull with introducing more ISK faucets.
No disagreement from me on care being needed. However I don’t think it will turn into an incredible faucet since even if the content is popular, the limitation on filaments would throttle the amount of isk which can be made from it, much like incursions get throttled because beyond a certain popularity you get contests which result in some people earning 0.
Add onto that it being physical, and you also have to get it to market, sites become lucrative enough it becomes worth it to gank even F1 runners, let alone the F4/5 runners. Which then again puts a natural throttle on it by the loot fairy.
CCP Rise stated somewhere that they don’t want more pure ISKs injectors in game, like NPC bounties.
Which I full heartedly agree with, so red loot (that can be stolen, or lost) is much better than bounties. I didn’t remember that statement, but I’m glad CCP sees it that way.
Nevertheless a minimum kind of payment like you get from the DED sites (overseer effects) could help with the acceptance. Maybe 10M for T1, 20M for T2, 30M for T3 … and 100M for T4, and 250M for T5.
As much as that’s a goal to shoot for, unless there is a tangible reward that ensures these things are going to be worth the risk (spoiler: there’s not right now) people are just going to continue to multibox the 3482089482034 activities in game that inject raw isk.
In mind that those will be like OPE boxes that can be looted from wrecks.
20 minutes limit is too hard, increase the time limit
Why not kill 2 birds with 1 stone then, abyss needs to diversify loot and at the same time t2 ships are too expensive because moon goo is too expensive, why not let refined moon goo that was gathered by npc’s drop? Then the loot will have the added side effect of reducing the cost to run them :].
Option 2: Drop resistance booster’s that only work on t1 ship’s, then the loot from them will bring down the cost to run them ^_^.
Option 3: Change the drop table’s so that each tier has something unique that drop’s, so if people mass spam 1’s then only 1’s get too cheap to run and so on, right now they all drop the same crap just in different quantities.
Option 4: Bring pvp into it so that its 1v1 + npc’s while Lowering npc difficulty. This way there will be a guaranteed loss per site which up’s the cost of the reward :]. because right now 1-3 is easy enough to mass spam and bring all prices down with the gila almost afk, 4’s people die like 50% of the time in but they don’t need to run 4’s because they can run 3’s and do a lot more with the same drops bringing all those prices down anyways.
Then you will have people dual boxxing them. People will use cheap t1 ships to remote rep or or help with doing the sites.
thats asuming they can get into their own alts site if its completely random then gl to them they will have to duel box pvp against 2 players in 2 different sites at once, sounds quite a bit harder in my opinion XD
So what are they going to do about the existing ones? Nothing. So it only penalizes high-sec and low-sec. Meanwhile in null-sec, ratting bot fleets continue en masse…
They nerfed nullsec bounties a while back when they introduced the ESS.
Then they buffed them massively with carrier changes.
It was5% tho lol
