EVE Online: Invasion - General Feedback

The other two replies already addressed the fact that the built-in bonuses of the faction+ weapons compensates for not benefiting from the T2 skill; however, I wanted to further add that you can see the changes for yourself in a fitting manager like Pyfa. Some faction variants can hold more ammo, so their DPS is less affected by reload time than those with lower capacity; in Pyfa, you can right-click the dps to toggle it showing with or without reload time taken into account.

Also: perhaps an even bigger benefit is that faction+ variants are typically easier to fit, thereby freeing up PG/CPU for use elsewhere, allowing for more aggressive fits. I think this is more substantial than the net increase in DPS.

Hey thereā€¦

Yes cos we all want to travel 50 jumps to take part in something that is one big wardec magnet , and if buy features u mean nerfs then yes we have had plenty.
Also it will remain in highsec I suspect for 1 simple reason CCP wont put them into play in a non NPC region due to the impact they could have and overall influence on the Sov holder that is in place . If they did they would be accusations left and right of manipulation and we lost our region cos we couldnā€™t defend against the combined X alliance plus the Trig s.

Sounds like a very reasoned suggestion for NOT putting them in Null.
So why you crying about it?

I did indeed use PYFA to test the dps increase from faction/officer launchersā€¦ and found that the Barghest and Golem will kick out over 2100dps if fitted with Estamelā€™s Torp Launchers and Tech 2 Rage Torpedoes, with Abyssal BCUs of course. I donā€™t own these, just the Caldari Navy Torp Launchers and some ā€˜otherā€™ Launchers, but there is still a RoF increase, higher clip size, easier fitting requirements, etc.

The Agency 3.0 :
Disappointing to be honestā€¦ I had a small hope that easily accessing escalations would be possible, like in the Journal, before they did away with that. Instead we have to click through a clunky interface. Bookmarking helps, but itā€™s still not as ā€˜neatā€™ as it was back in the day. Pinning the escalation or what ever your interested in to the main UI, similar to your way-point path would be nice.

No tears here friend.

Its pretty simple really CCP designed it this way . They didnā€™t have to do that but they did and thus they are responsible for denying a large portion of Eve the content they have been beating there drum about both directly and indirectly.
I mean lets look at other events where locations are spread liberally throughout Eve , say CCP removed that content and placed it solely in null how would your cold empire heart feel then may I ask ?

Yeah, really annoying. However, market tree wonā€™t refresh, if the Quickbar tab is active. So, Quickbar will be my new ā€œhome pageā€ while updating 100ā€™s of market orders.

after all the buffs you deserve some nerfs. Rorqual changes? that benefitted you. Now they got nerfed - after years of use. Infinitely spawning anoms? Ore anoms? and moreā€¦ donā€™t complain about not having one thing

Titans and Supers? cyno inhibitors? ansiblex gates?

Its refreshing to see iteration on a feature; for players who say that CCP doesnā€™t: the mostly-restored agent finder in the overhauled Agency, is proof that they do.

+1: Choosing a mission agent near the same NPC corpā€™s storyline agent, is essential info for maximizing standings gains. Please restore Storyline Agent to the Agent Type list.

I would pop out of a wormhole on my main account and enjoy said content in null.
See I enjoy many different parts of the game.
If you choose to limit yourself to one area of space it stands to reason your going to miss some content.

Darkā€¦

This is relevant how to content generated by CCP get a grip. As to your other comment I could imagine if they said 10 missions a day you dirty risk adverse mob , the screams . You need to up your Troll game maybe take some lessons from Scarlett ??

The agency looks pretty, and generally it looks like a nice change.

HOWEVER

Being able to see all cosmic signatures from anywhere in New Eden seems like it takes the whole ā€œexplorationā€ out of exploration. It is terribly broken. As a paying subscriber I would love to see this ā€œfeatureā€ removed.

Okay, so for the game devs who apparently never grind standings in order to run missions, hereā€™s an explanation of what we actually need from the Agent Finder:

You need at least 5.0 standings in order to run lvl 4 missions with any given corporation. Letā€™s say I want to run lvl 4 security missions for the Federation Navy LP store, and/or lower my fees at Dodixie, but can currently only access lvl 2 agents. This grind will necessarily involve running dozens of missions. I want to get to lvl 4 security missions with Federation Navy as quickly as possible, so naturally I look for the most efficient path.

The ideal mission base for this standings grind has the following qualities:

  1. a cluster of Federation Navy distribution agents of the same level, preferably of a lower level, not just so I can access them but also because lvl 1 or lvl 2 distro missions involve fewer jumps and are therefore completed faster.
  2. a Federation Navy Storyline agent in the same constellation
  3. since I can fly an interceptor and/or blockade runner, I am looking for the lowest security space that meets these conditions, since the gains will be higher there and that is worth the operational risk to me.

It is important to note that I do not care whether this mission base is found two jumps or twenty jumps away. If itā€™s on the other side of known space, then so be it. Iā€™m planning on being there a minute, Iā€™m happy to travel to it and set up my base. The same goes for finding the lvl 4 security mission base I will eventually set up; Iā€™m looking for the right cluster of agent(s), for the right corporation(s), in the right security space, with a Storyline agent from the same corporation(s) in the same constellation.

After researching on Dotlan, I conclude that this Federation Navy mission base doesnā€™t really exist. There is a cluster of four Federation Navy lvl 1 distro agents in the Ancbeu constellation of Verge Vendor, but the Storyline agent there is with Federation Navy Academy. Those storyline missions will give me a nice boost in Faction standing, but it wonā€™t give me anything but the normal boost for completing any other mission toward my corporation standing. Grinding standings without a Storyline agent for that corporation literally adds hours to the process of getting to 5.0 standings.

However, I do a little more research, and I discover that fourteen jumps away there is another Federation Navy lvl 1 distro agent in Barleguet, with a Federation Navy Storyline agent next door in Aulbres. The efficiency of blitzing four lvl 1 distro missions at a time might make that worth it. So, I decide to do the missions in Ancbeu until the fifteenth mission, head over to Barleguet, turn in the 16th mission, do the Storyline mission next door, then go back to Ancbeu to repeat the process. It takes about seven round trips before I have the standings I need for lvl 4 security missions.

Some corporations have better bases for standings grinds than others. Some are downright easy to grind, whereas others verge on impossible. Some mission bases look really good on paper, but then you start working there and realize that the delivery paths are unusually long, etc., and you choose somewhere else. Players tend to complain about the homogeneous nature of EVE missions, but Iā€™m actually rather surprised by how different an experience you can get depending on where you choose to mission.

However, the one deal breaker for me is always access to the storyline agent. I do not even attempt a standings grind with a corporation unless that corporation has a storyline agent in the same constellation, or one nearby that I can access in the above manner. I am still using Dotlan and my own spreadsheets to figure out where these ideal missions bases are located, because the game provides no adequate tools to glean this intelligence.

This is all ā€˜veteranā€™ info of course. Please, nobody hate me for bringing it up. There is also the circle missions which you cannot find in game, by normal means anyway, someone has to tell you. Lots of agents simply cannot be found in ā€˜The Agencyā€™. I thought that it would be a good time to bring this up, at least the storyline agents, since they are working on the agency now. The COSMOS lines are there but thatā€™s only a start to opening up the agents and paths that EvE has waiting for people who otherwise would never find out about them. Itā€™s like they wanted to hide content, and I think thatā€™s a bad idea.

Info CCP. 30 items and mystery agents is not enough. There is a game to be played, not kept secret.

New today: Iā€™m unable to stay logged in for very long. Somewhere between 10 minutes and 30 minutes, my clients lose connection to the server. I get an error message asking me if Iā€™ve lost internet connectivity. Only my EVE clients are experiencing this. All of them do it at the same time.

This repeats whether I have it set for 32-bit or 64-bit, optimized for memory/performance/graphics. All the same. One client or multiple. Have tried rebooting the computer.

You need to settle. The pilots of Null can easily farm invasion beachheads, far too easily. Spend some time in high as a high local, and then face these things.

Itā€™s nasty and awesome, but there are problems.

Problem I have is with the Triglavian patrols being too easy to have their wrecks ninjaā€™d. There are a fair number of invasion origin points and surrounding systems, however at this stage there are no scannable anomalies to isolate and make more difficult the theft of wrecks - not loot as the drops are quite poor and basic.

There are a lot of tough enemies, en mass, moving as one, and calling in tougher groups to their aid. Iā€™ve seen a pair of Marauders get eaten in ten minutes, and I couldnā€™t fathom a way for any small or average size group survive this kind of punishment, even outside of the origin point.

The enemies are tough, the necessary force to bear is a little high - since solos cannot seem to do this at all - and the reward, while necessary for T2 production (while having no bounty to speak of), and is very valuable, is FAR easier to steal than loot, since all anyone needs is a destroyer, eight salvage modules, and an MWD, or a drone boat, salvage drones, and target/bandwidth range boosters, and the thief gets no penalty, since they donā€™t bother with the can and go straight for the wreck itself, and escape scot free.

This does not incentivise PvP - there are no suspect timers save for the people who loot the remains of players, and those players are more than able to flee the scene - and instead discourages it since CONCORD appears to shoot you for preemptively protecting your claim, which by the game functions can be taken by anyone, and thus trying to protect it is illegal.

Either change the way the loot drops, or make it more difficult for the wrecks to be salvaged by people not associated or affiliated with the one(s) that created the wreck.

Iā€™m looking forward to whatā€™s going to happen, but this really makes anything but mobs or large organised tiered fleets with logi nearly impossible past a certain time limit, or pointless. Entertaining, but no return of cost to make up for expenditures.

Triglavian Incursion feeback.

The Route tool should be given an option ā€œAvoid Invaded systemsā€ as to make a route to the destination which does not go trough Triglavian invaded territory.

Brilliant content patch so far, i think some triggers for some sort of mini escalation for groups that are running the triglavian sites might be a good idea and possibly some better loot - tbh not sure about that.

My thoughts are basically along the lines of increasing looting and therefore suspects, maybe make some loot heavier?
And having some sort of mini site for the more hardcore groups to run separate BUT still needing to take part in the normal part too. Escalation should probably be scannableā€¦ maybe an abyss gate that only takes in so much mass every 4 or 5 minutes?
That might be fun, a small frig gang could go in and then be on a clock to run the abyssal sites and also not get caught by a potential player pvp cruiser or even bc.

Yesterday we killed a 140mil pod, at least two destroyers and a couple of frigs/corvettesā€¦ also a noctis with a kill right on it ā€¦and i lost a 400 mil kikimora to a kind of bait trap that caught me good lol.
IT EVEN brought out some code dude into an area where they could ACTUALLY get pointed and shot at.

Excellent fun!

In comparison the cruiser roam we had later in the day through null and lowsec (roughly 3 regions about 30 or so jumps) was ā€¦ mostly quiet except for one group that simply stayed out of range and called reinforcementsā€¦ which to be fair i probably would have done too but 4 navy cruisers v 4 t1 cruisersā€¦ well we hightailed it out of there of course!! lol
towards the end of the roam i really wish we hadntā€¦

With regards to the war dec UI changes: Very nice to see that you can now drag a warp report from the war report window into a chat or elsewhere by click-dragging on the crossed swords. A small thing but it still adds some more convenience.
