EVE Online – July Status Update

ESS literally killed my main content of baiting small gang hunters with krabbing Myrmidons - wich used to be about ISK neutral over the month at just about acceptable time investment.
Losing a chunk of income on top of ships every time there is too manny hostiles and on top of cyno drops is just too much.
So blobbing on everything that moves is the only option if i don’t want to hide in a crabbing hole for a week in order to pay for my content.

The intell advantage is indeed ridiculous but so is the advantage if the attacker has numbers and a set up already in place.
It’s never interesting fights.
The Meta is boring af.

And most of the 5 bil ISK in that screen shot i took solo +1 scout alt without them even looking outside their citadels - it’s pathetic but i have seen myself that taking the risk of fighting back cann backfie badly so i guess it really is the smart thing to do…

Mining ship balance again - Subcap miners have gotten the nerf bat way too many times - sure wouldn’t appreciate another smackdown - If it becomes a permanant poverty fest will probably find a better use of my time. I’m kinda there now … rest of the year in scarcity …naw …

Appeal :
How much of these are Alpha-Alts ?
I created minimum 20 of them , to seed wormholes.
And uncounted for gangking purpose, and throw them away after use.

For the the so called anouncements , I say only:
I will check their deeds
but have no hope when I see the quallity of (programming-)craftmanship.
i.e. my Epithal still has two funtional WCS

They talk to much, and act to less.

Just my 2 Won

The pve ship is not what can take the most damage, it’s a ship that deals the most damage while meeting the tank quota, with everything else optimized out.

Lowering dps would solve literally nothing, because frankly, there’s no null anom that deals 800 dps, and plenty that deal 0-50 dps, making them survivable in literally zero tank mods ship, and yet, nobody runs them in pvp ships, because of how incredibly pathetic tick they produce on account of not being able to do significant dps.

Thus the content that could be ran in pvp ships must be both tank-neutral and dps-neutral. Not only that, but it should somehow be engagement profile neutral as well, because if it suits a certain ship engagement profile, you can be damn sure that a ganktard will show up in a counter.

So unless it’s something like shooting back to protect the objective, where you just have to sit there for a timed duration, meeting certain amount of tank and dps quota (where excess tank and dps are pretty much wasted), I can’t think of anything that would make pvp ship remotely competitive.

So you guys finally realized scarcity was incredibly stupid. Maybe you guys need another economist. Jesus F–king Christ. Oh, and I bet it didn’t work either. That all those mega rich players are still…mega rich. I know my net wealth has actually gone up…not that I am mega rich or anything.

Fools.

How many stayed, rather than just tried though, is that metric possible to see?

No. EVE Offline does not have that metric unfortunately.

Thousands of bots stayed, like those Hypernet spam bots that CCP just doesn’t want to hardware ban.

I agree with this statement.
I would like to see that all ship models make them futuristic and have a update pass.
The T1 and T2 rigs make them so they cannot be destroyed like for the T3 ships or bring the cost of the T2 rigs down in price.
Also make mining low end ore like Ice mining as with the low end ores would be available as they would spawn in different 0.0 Systems like they do with the Ice.
Revisit PI and update PI again.

Oh you youngins!

Ending scarcity means that minerals and gases will be available in large quantities everywhere. When the prices of materials plummet, ship prices will decrease too.

CCP has dropped the ball. Over and over in the last year +. To promise eutopia now, after all this time, is just empty promises and rhetoric. Your changes SUCK ccp. Industry patch is an ass.

How many players quit when they realised what you had done? How many industry alts logged out for the last time?? How many players playstyles DESTROYED in one sweeping patch??? How many players didnt undock because the hulls are too expensive now?

Congratulations CCP you made a Space ship sim where people dont want to undock spaceships. The there’s the mining nerfs, the WCS nerfs, the marauder buff then nerf (just kidding huh?)… more, and more and more and more… WTF were you thinking? This is not a real world economy where people simply have to live within it. No. This is a virtual economy where people can just NOT OPT IN. Your changes are BS CCP, awful. Poorly thought out knee jerk nonsense.

Hows that PCU treating you CCP? Hows the sale of plex?? You shouldnt be surprised…

Like those constant 1 to 11 day old alts that spam the same text Hypernet offer over and over 24/7, that one?

I wouldn’t assume that is what is going to happen, as then the devs will say that eve will go back to the ways before scarcity and they will need to reintroduce it again in the future. I think you’re going to be sorely disappointed if you think minerals and gases will return in large quantities everywhere.

The way i see it cynos in lowsec was needed to take down poses before specially deathstars.
Today stations can be taken down with regular fleets, and i dont mind blackops using gates its the constant hot dropping fleets that ruins pvp in lowsec.
and dont want cynos in null removed i want them to remove it from lowsec to revive it again.

I got 25 Rorqual kills in a year by searching twice a week for a total of 6-7 hours. So yes we kill them often enough.

Scarcity firmly ends in Q4 2021
A balance pass for all mining ships

I want to be very clear CCP is playing with fire and is likely to burn the player base!

If CCP balance pass is like everything else this year, it will be MASSIVE nerfs to all mining ships. While not removing building requires. That will make all mining ships weaker, while keeping the cost the same. If they nerf the mining yield and do not buffing anything in return, you have turd ships.

If CCP does not handle this right the miners/indy players that left in mass, will not return! That means if CCP screw the pooch, this game will stay at the current player level but more then likely will see another mass player exodus. I will be watching this very closely and if it is not done right, I will not be here any more. That will be another paying customer that CCP will push out of the game.

I’ve been waiting for this and am surprised to find myself agreeing with a lawyer @Brisc_Rubal
Actually, in this case I’m thrilled to agree with him, CCP needs this kind of communication a hell of a lot more than letting developers like @CCP_Rattati tell us “they can quit if they don’t like it”.
I find it amusing that this blog post comes out as my subscriptions start to expire and turn into alpha accounts, coming out of the closet, or out from under their little rock at this particular moment was either good timing, or a switch to good planning. Or maybe pure luck, I don’t know. I do know that my five accounts are a drop in the proverbial bucket as far as they are concerned, but I suspect I wasn’t alone.
I think that if the CSM could do one thing to help this game it would be to encourage communication like this. It may be that the upcoming changes are things that don’t do me any good, but at least I know there’s a future other than being told that I can use real world money to buy my way out of scarcity. This is supposed to be a sandbox, I shouldn’t be able to buy my way out of anything with real world money, I should have to fight and work for my accomplishments.
This whole episode got me thinking of all the time I spent learning, adapting, and trying out new stuff only to have it all removed or nerfed to death was just a collosal waste of time, effort, and money spent on being Omega.
Now, finaly I see they are listening, paying attention and perhaps do in fact have a long term goal that’s not just “here! Buy stuff so we can keep finding new ways to get you to buy stuff”.

The problem with EVE is that it is old enough to be boring for veteran players, and not really up to date with modern game play solutions to attract more people. It is not about the balance, if you change the rules very often, it alienates the player base. The gameplay should evolve.

Devs should play other spaceship games, like GoF2 or Everspace. A lot of new players feel detached from storyline. Basically EVE is: finish tutorial agents, do epic arc, this is a sandbox, go join some corp - goodbye. In modern world, where you have thousands of available games this approach won’t work anymore. Players need goals and reasons to play, better UI, more stuff to do in game.

When i tried to invite some people to play together, i received a feedback that that this game is:

  1. it is boring, non dynamic (too much time wasted on waiting)
  2. the UI is awfully hard to understand, my eyes and head hurt
  3. the story is missing, no reasons to play
  4. older players have already taken all the “golden places” years ago, you can only be their pawn (wealth imbalance)
    • Can i land on planets?
    • No.
    • Can i walk with my avatar?
    • No, you can’t.
    • Can i visit my ships bridge, see the crew?
    • Sadly, No.
    • I’ll better play … (other game).
