Got it on my omega toon as well. Can we confirm CCP is desperate now, @Justin_Ackaris ?

seconded.

Some people REALLY can do nothing but complain…

Free stuff is bad because?

And are you REALLY saying free stuff is even MORE bad than trigs killing noobs on their first day(letting them ragequit and so be lost for the game)?

REALLY?

I mean REALLY???

I think ill pass this time. Last time I did the event on my 6 characters, the main didn’t really need them but the lower skilled alts could. I found it a chore. Feel just like a method to get daily logons up in my mind. Why can you not look at removing attributes, increasing SP gain rate and not have to rely on events such as these that just come across as gimmicks.

I would like that to but that won’t ever happen.

Just do one sec mission a day…solves all problems…

I don’t know why anyone bothers to complain. Do it or don’t do it, no one’s forcing players to take the free sp.

Well it kind of ruins the concept of time based training that players get SP like this.
Selling SP and giving free SP is pissing old players in the face and CCP should not do that.

It’s sad to se another good game ruined by greedy developers, so sad :disappointed:

Such an entitled view. EVE is the only game I can think of where there is basically no level cap. All other games have a level cap and whether the person reaches it in a month or a year, they all eventually hit the same cap. Just because someone has spent the last 10+ years in the game, doesn’t mean that a new person who starts today shouldn’t have the opportunity to play on a level field with those veterans; in fact, preventing that level playing field leads to players not starting the game or quiting.

sKilling Spree: FREE SP for ganks?

You can always do lvl 1 missions!

They’re only cosmetic and do not affect gameplay, so how exactly are they cancer? Don’t buy any yourself and there’s no issue.

you don’t know much about the game, do you?

in eve it is really easy to close up to older players because there are no levels.

You can already be of value for your corp or alliance after a few days. Even in big nullsec fights you can participate easily.

In fact, you can learn to fly a frigate in a short amount of time. No player can gain more than L5 skills so you can get to the same level as a 15 year veteran in less than one year. Even if you want to be a titan pilot you can be that in about 2 years.

CCP’s Alpha clones are offering too many incentives for not subbing an Omega. What’s wrong with it being a 30 day trial, with appropriate SP cap and all racial frigate hulls? No faction frigates. No T2 mods or rigs. If an account goes from Alpha to Omega, you can always offer more incentives at that point in time.

I wonder if you complained as much about character bazaar.

Otherwise, SP selling was inevitable. SP is the biggest force multiplier in eve(all-4 character is more than 20% weaker on EVERY stat than all-5 one), which some people made into the biggest substitute for skill, to the point where they got into thinking that paying for subscription was paying for SP (who cares about game access, right?). It was a clear balance issue which needed a fix, and a fix it got, the one that actually favors new players over veterans for a change. The biggest point to date is “bawwww I can’t be sure my free gank target doesn’t have as much SP as me by looking at character age anymore! It can kill me if I’m not having 50mil SP advantage over it, CCPls fix!”.

That’s often said by people who never tried to play eve as alphas. You can’t even talk to L4 agents anymore, you can’t pilot any ship half-decently, you don’t have access to most grind-preventing skills, and now you can’t even do the VNI thing as alpha. Try tolerating alpha status, I predict you’ll run back to Omega in 4 hours.

Pilots in the Bazar spent years training skills just like the rest of us.
The few pilots in there that has bought SP for money should be removed/deleted.
The only problem i have with it now is that SP can be given free and bought for money.

If selling what you spent time training skills with is OK, why selling part of it (SP) is not ok?

There is no way to buy SP for money. You can buy PLEX and you always could, and you could spend it on SP like you always could spend it on character bazaar. If bazaar is ok, then this is ok too.

It can’t be “given free”, at the very least, it requires an extractor (PLEX sink), and you give less than you take (it takes 500k and gives less, much less to anyone relevant), therefore making extractors a global SP sink, and if SP inflation is your problem, you should welcome those.

Right now we are getting free SP in this Skilling event.
Other events where you just have to log in to get your free SP.
I’ve gotten about 5 mill. Free SP within the last year or so, and i have not been participating in all events so it’s probably more.

Buying Plex and using Plex to buy SP is the same as buying SP for money.

SP should take time to get.

Back when vets started playing we had 500k SP to start with and spend years training while paying subs and we are still here.
Why should new players have it free ?
They should spend years on subs and training like the rest of us did.

Well that’s my opinion.
