Event Feedback - XVI Anniversary Celebrations!

False implications again. We should talk in private…some things that need to be said should be free flow and not said in monitored group…Should I message this name?

Whatever you can say to me you can say publicly. I’m curious to know what the “false” implications are given that all I’ve done is quote you.

But it doesn’t really matter. A GM has made an announcement with regards to the event and you’re not gonna get the 1M SP after all. Looks like its time to just up or shut up. Let’s see if your threat of “Eve Player lawyers” and “PR specialists” has any teeth or if its just the whining if an entitled child on the forums. :slightly_smiling_face:

If youre collecting the 4th to last item and it says “2 days left”, that doesnt necessarily mean you will be able to collect 2 more, since “1 day left” can easily, and many times does, mean the Last day.

But If thats the case, then it might be a genuine bug and you may have missed out on atleast one day. But thats something youd have to take up as a bug and explain in your petition, to have them check when you actually redeemed it.

The blog says:

There’s a total of sixteen days of gifts, celebrating more than a decade and a half of amazing player stories. You can claim all the rewards on offer, so long as you log in for at least sixteen of the days during the celebrations.

Both Alpha and Omega pilots can claim rewards daily

A lot of it said Daily.

Both Alpha and Omega Clone pilots can claim free rewards daily during the event

Even here, though, it says “Daily”.

I would agree with you if it were exactly 16 days. That is really strict.

But this is all just opinions, and my point therefore stands. For the people who made it, the 18 days were more than enough. For the people who didnt, 18 days wasnt.

And again, if it were 30, for those who couldnt make the 16 out of the 30, the 30 days still wouldnt be enough.

This argument is meaningless though, and the “BS” that you claimed I spouted, actually does matter, in this context.

There will always be people who complain, when things dont go their way. Sure, customer satisfaction could be 100% if CCP gave into all complaints, and reimbursed ships that were lost because you “Disconnected”, if you cried about being ganked, if you were scammed for billions of ISK, etc etc etc.

And if youve ever worked in a situation where you have to interact with customers, you will always be faced with the problem of customer complaints. And yet, im sure if you have, or ask anyone who has, you cant make everyone happy. You cant fulfill every customer needs.

I got a mail on May 2nd. Seemed like it was enough time for me to realize what the event was, and to log in.

You know, since my mail and the game are on the same computer. Took me like 5 seconds to log in.

Fine your tactics will not be continued here. Obviously you lack understanding of the depth of the post to alert EVE to how this could spiral negatively…
I wish you well enjoy your rewards…Soon we will all know if this goodwill campaign intensifies or flutters out…but I hope everybody gets their perceptions stated…for others to know.

Ok I’m going to throw this out there for the hell of it. Y’all can take it or leave it.

I have 3 Omega and 1 Alpha account. Due to life events I ended up missing 2 days of the logins. One during the first week, and then I was unable to log in on the 19th, which meant that I ended up missing out on the final day 16 rewards for all of my accounts. Yes, you read that right, life interrupted and I lost out on 3 million skill points and whatever else the final day gift was.

My only gripe here is that I had to log in 16 days over an 18 day period. Yes, I get that the nature of this game is that players tend to not have much of a life outside of it, but IMO only allowing a 2 day grace window to still get all the rewards, ESPECIALLY the final reward, which when dropped gave me only a 24 hour window that I absolutely had to log in during in order to hit, seems to be a bit excessive. Yea, I get loyalty and all of that, but IDK, I can’t help but feel a bit shafted here.

It would have been nice to see maybe the entire month used, or 30 days, etc., with gifts doled out in the beginning of the month so that players who have other things going on would still be able to log in during the month and receive the rewards. Even though the login only takes 2 seconds, it doesn’t seem right to me to demand the player base to hit that level of continuous activity.

You can’t make everyone happy but you try to make a high percentage happy. I guess we will never know what % are unhappy and was it worth it for CCP? In my business I sometimes say no to customers and other times I give in and give leeway even if whatever issue they are having wasn’t my company’s fault. Why? Because sometimes many years of a returning customer is better than being “right” that one time.

Case in point, I had a business client, paying over $30K a month. They asked for a quote from me and it clearly said that if they wanted a TV added it would be $25 extra per month. The client then claimed that my price was wrong when they wanted the TV and I charged them the extra $25. So, I showed them the communications where I clearly quoted the TV as $25 extra. Guess what happened next? I no longer have that $30K a month from that client. So yes they were completely in the wrong, but you know what, they also took that $30K a month to another vendor over $25, and a CCP customer could be frustrated and take their subscription to another game over 1M SP they didn’t get, CCPs fault or not.

And no, the BS you spouted doesn’t matter because its a feedback thread, asking for people’s opinion of the event. So, you can claim they are wrong and have your reasons, but at the end of the day it’s their opinion and feedback for CCP to change the next event. It’s up to CCP to decide what to do with the feedback.

I didnt say you arent entitled to your opinions. But when people respond to you, and point out why your opinions could be wrong, simply saying “Its BS so its irrelevant” is only a means to divert the discussion away from topic at hand, which is the event.

What do you mean by Demand? This wasnt mandatory. You dont lose access to your account or anything if you missed the gifts.

No, but if you want to get all the rewards, you have to continue to hit that login requirement. That would be the demand.

If you want it, sure. Thats your choice, though.

Choice, meet consequence.

So then, you’re telling me that you’d be perfectly fine in my shoes? You’d be totally ok with that situation? Or are you just having said opinion because you got your 1M skill points, so not your problem? Just want to clarify for the record.

Thank you for all the fun Eve! Can’t wait to see what the XXXII anniversary rewards are!

Do you really want to be on the side of the customer that got in a huff over a $25 charge?

@ Dynus

No I want to be on the side of the business owner that lost 30,000 dollars, over something stupid…get it? You guys are chopping off your own legs and you don’t even see it.

CCP has no room to maneuver at this point. Once they announced the rules for the giveaway they couldn’t go back and change them without making themselves look silly - and also encouraging people to complain even more. They especially can’t reverse their position now that they have mass-announced that there will be no compensation for people who didn’t complete the logins.

All that is happening here is venting. It is totally understandable, but it is like losing a ship you liked - you can try to blame CCP or game mechanics or whatever, but the ship is gone.

Unacceptable. Been playing Eve for 16 years, I was on a rotation from the 29th of April to the 19th of May, unable to log in at at all. I log in on the 20th after flying home, before event deadline. CCP: Sorry you missed it. Game mechanics.

Yes, I would be okay.

This thread has turned into better PvP than you can find in LowSec anymore.
