Agreed. I just started 2 weeks ago. Unable to log in for the past 10 years worth of events in EVE. CCP: Sorry, your character didnt even exist when the past events began. We cant retroactively give you every single gift we gave out for the past 10 years on your account.
Enter obligatory whine and complaint.
But seriously, thanks CCP for the free gifts.
Happy 16th!
I think you missed the point. I didn’t get the redemption for the last day, either, when I logged in before the event was over.
A bunch of us regular players have been logged in and active and still got dryfucked by CCP. I’ve been subbed and active on this toon since 2006 and the only time I’m away is when I’m too busy working or not in the same country. Some of us have lives outside EvE. Have a crack at it sometime instead of posting uninformed smug grabage like the quoted post above…
agreed i am also frustated about it. and wanting to play turned into having to play cause i dont want to let my corp mates down. tho i wont be as active as i have been so far unless the last day rewards have been repayd. knowing you got 18 days to pick rewards but then oops it is only 17 days tho advertised as 18 days.
ccp seems to forget that its players(community) is what keeps eve alive. and then they do that … in addition to many other things. new release brings another npc battle. why not instead add ability to have other characters as passengers on board. or actualy planets that you can walk on and build on. and have fps type of battles over planets while on it .
eve had it’s prime time in 2013 and in 6 years not even close to beating 2013. main reason i belive to be lack of love from CCP.
Talking about that then dual universe seems good enough to compete with eve online in the space based mmo category . might give it a shot as eve seems to be more about make money than invest into game mechanics and features.
and thanks CCP fori giving a reward for loggin in 16 times during 18 days. This is so incredibly disrespectful to paying customers who supported you for so many years… just hand out a gift without forcing people to do stuff in a certain time frame
And run your events with login shenanigans in parallel next to it or whatever
A gift is something you get without a counter action. Just imagine Santa telling you your gonna get a present but only if you run around your house 10 times a day for 16 day over a 18 day time frame🤣
please just please use one post instead of 3 . there is edit option XD also people had 17 days not 18 cause 2nd may shutdown to 20 may shutdown is not 18 days but 17.
Lawdy, and here I thought American Politics were bad.
Said my piece, and now I am here for the comments.

As you can see, there were 18 ‘daily’ 23 hour login windows to claim a reward. You can see from the time stamp of the very first post of the thread, the first opportunity to claim a reward was between May second, post downtime, and May third, prior to downtime. I feel bad for players that missed out, but everyone did get 18 login windows to claim 16 rewards. Three strikes and you’re out 1 Mil sp, or something like that.
Two strikes
Event ended on the 20th. So if you logged in on the 19th after the downtime, you logged in on the last day.
I do too, and sometimes I miss events, too.
What Do i do when i miss it?
I move on.
What do i not do when I miss it?
Complain on forums.
Guess what I missed? The first Double Skillpoints weekend last year. I missed out on 100,000 skillpoints. Good thing i didnt complain, otherwise id be pretty embarrassed.
Just imagine Santa telling you your gonna get a present but only if you’re a good boy, the other 364 days of the year.
I think you chose the wrong example.
good boy/girl in eve it would be active member.
here is another example: Lets say there is business where employers work in 2 shifts first shift is 1 week of month second shift works 2nd week of month etc. then company has birthday and gives its employers gifts lets say 20k $. but only to those who worked on second week of the month. would you not be upset ? after all it is not your fault that you did not work on 2nd shift.
but for reals 16 full and 2 half days to pick 16 rewards is not enough. ccp should not expect its active members to log into game every single day. and cause the time period was so small ofc people who have been active have right to be upset. as they also deserve the reward as any other player. if such rewards are given out give all gifts to all players who play in the celebration month or dont give no gifts at all. cause right now what happened was that for many month of celebration turned into month where they got miss treated by ccp.
about time calculations that someone brought up. yeah 18 windows but not 18 calendar days or 18 x 24h as stated in announcments or also mass response to tickets that they stated
- The campaign was live from the 2nd of May till the 20th of May 2019. giving players 18 days to claim a total of 16 rewards.
from which any normal person expects it to mean 1st may against 2nd may midnight to 20th of may midnight to 21st. not from half of 2nd may to half of 20th may
. maybe they should reschedule their down times to 24:00 to make it accurate if they cannot end event without having to go on downtime. which should not be required in first place to start or stop events with properly built system.

2nd week of month etc. then company has birthday and gives its employers gifts lets say 20k $. but only to those who worked on second week of the month. would you not be upset ? after all it is not your fault that you did not work on 2nd shift.
Except that downtime lasts for 24 hours, and you can “Choose” to have a shift every day, and receive that 20k $ on your next shift, the next day over.

ccp should not expect its active members to log into game every single day. and cause the time period was so small ofc people who have been active have right to be upset. as they also deserve the reward as any other player.
For the people who didnt receive the entirety of the gifts, im sure thats their opinion.
But for the rest of us, that managed, reminded ourselves, and made the time to log in every day, should we get an extra reward?
To extend the analogy you used, if you knew your employer was going to gift you 20k $ for your work, because it was going to be an especially difficult shift, and so you planned ahead, made sure you showed up on time, and worked your hardest, and then some guy who forgot he had a shift didnt show up at all, didnt work, or had a prior engagement, and went over to a party, or had another job lined up, or thought that he was suppose to work your shift so showed up at your time, but realized he didnt have to work so he went home, or something else, and he received the same gift? Even though you worked, and he didnt? Would you think that was fair?

from which any normal person expects it to mean 1st may against 2nd may midnight to 20th of may midnight to 21st. not from half of 2nd may to half of 20th may
No, because that defeats the purpose of what the word “End” means.
When an icecream store has an event, and says “The event ends on the 20th of May”, does it end on May 20th? or the 21st?
In every single other instance, wherever a store, or even a video game, says that the event will end on May 20th, wouldnt you agree that 99% of the time, the event actually ends on the 20th, and doesnt extend through to the 21st?
And yet, what youre saying, is akin to coming to a store and saying “Your event said it ends on May 20th. But I came at 10:00 PM last night, and your store was closed, even though it was still May 20th. This is false advertising. You need to extend it another day, because you closed last night, and you werent open the full day, until the midnight of the 20th”.
Isnt that ridiculous?
To your last point: No, it is not. When it says the even ends on the 20th, I expect it to end at the END of the 20th, not the beginning. If a 24-hour store offered a sale from May 1st to May 20th would they end the sale at 1am on the 20th? EVE’s in-game day/time cycle doesn’t even coincide with downtime, so why would everyone assume the “day” listed in the event window was something separate?
If anything they should have said “The last time to log in to claim a prize is prior to downtime on the morning of May 20th.” or when the event started it could have given the number of log-in periods
I, myself, was mislead by the number of days remaining given in the countdown on the login screen. When I logged in at 2200 Eve time on the 18th and claimed my prize, the countdown showed 2 days remaining with 14/16 prizes claimed. I assumed that as long as the days remaining on the countdown was equal or greater to the number of prizes remaining then I was safe. On day 8 or 9 (can’t remember exactly) I was unable to login due to an internet outage at my house. I didn’t go to my parent’s house to log in because I had 2 buffer days… or so I thought. Then after diligently logging in every day after that for 8 or so more days with the number of days remaining being equal to the number of unclaimed prizes, I go from 2 days remaining with 2 prizes to claim to 5 hours remaining and one prize to claim.
So if they are going to base these events on log-in periods, then they should refer to them as log-in periods, NOT days, especially when the log-in periods to not even coincide with the in-game “days” we all associate with EVE.
So if he logged in on the 19th, that being the last day to claim a prize, then the event ended on the 19th, NOT the 20th. They shouldn’t give an END date to an event, they should give a log-in period. If they’re using the period between the two downtimes as a “day” then downtime on the morning of the 19th (EVE in-game time) is like midnight and the last minute of the shutdown timer is 23:59. That STILL makes it May 19th in this EVE land of “days”
“The last period to claim a prize is after downtime on the 19th and before downtime on the 20th.” How hard would that have been?
I received a standard mass reply on ticket which I open.
…The Anniversary rewards were available to be claimed until the downtime (11:00 EVE time) on the 20th of May 2019.
EVE time is UTC time, or WHAT?
As it shown on my account activity page:
logged in EVE Online Client – my ip – 20 May - 9:37 am UTC
i.e i’m logged in BEFORE downtime 20 may, but I’ve got nothing.
And what can I do now?
