Both Alpha and Omega Clone pilots can claim free rewards daily during the event, although the Omega rewards are even more exciting! Omegas can also claim Alpha rewards each time they log in. If you upgrade to Omega after the event has started, you will still get all the Omega rewards you missed retroactively, so there’s even more cause to celebrate!

Everyday, the server reboot is scheduled to takes place at 11:00 UTC and the game is played worldwide so it is important to for all of us to us a standart reference timezone, which is UTC.

So it is obvious for almost all of us, that a classic “Eve Day” start a 11:00UTC and end the day after at 10:59UTC.

It works the same for all events. So when it says an event ends on May 20th, it means it ends on May 20th at 10:59UTC… Make sense, I don’t even know why people could complain about it….

Yes, it sucks if you missed your 1M SP reward but you guys already had 3 extra days to collect your gifts. This event don’t even require to actually play the game, the only thing you had to do was to connect to the game, claim the reward and disconnect… Takes 30 seconds…

IRL stuffs sometimes takes the lead but that how life goes… And if you really don’t want to miss stuff, it is your responsability to subscribe to services like Shadow which enable you to install Eve Online on a cloud and access it anytime, anywhere from your phone…

Ok. Eve team, you wanted feedback…
pretty sure you got it here. Your customer service response was a joke.

I am voting with my feet. At least as a new player I didn’t have anything invested. I won’t be resubbing, there are plenty of titles coming out that look promising. Thanks for the experience.

This has already been gone over somewhere in this thread but starting at DT you had from:
2nd to the 3rd (day 1)
3rd to the 4th (day 2)
4th to the 5th (day 3)
5th to the 6th (day 4)
6th to the 7th (day 5)
7th to the 8th (day 6)
8th to the 9th (day 7)
9th to the 10th (day 8)
10th to the 11th (day 9)
11th to the 12th (day 10)
12th to the 13th (day 11)
13th to the 14th (day 12)
14th to the 15th (day 13)
15th to the 16th (day 14)
16th to the 17th (day 15)
17th to the 18th (day 16)
18th to the 19th (day 17)
19th to the 20th (day 18)

I guess the moral of this entire thing is CCP should not offer SP gifts people lose their minds over not getting something for free.

yeah 18 days but not 18 calendar days calendar day is 24 hours. which means it was half on 2nd may then 3-19 to was 16 calendar days and then on 20th another half calendar day.

and since you only could pick up next day reward after the shutdown not after change of date it changes things you know.

No, and thats why folks are mad. It was portrayed as three days but it was really only two.

What you failed to realize, is that they said it BEGAN on downtime on May the 2nd.

Ill decimate this argument by asking you:

When is the last day, the absolute last day, you can claim a prize?

Wrong.

The event went from downtime of May 2nd, to the downtime of May 20th.

Each downtime length, is 24 hours.

There is no 2 half days. It was 18, 24 hour periods.

Again, no. You get 18, 24 hour days. So yes, you got 18 calendar days. It runs from Downtime, to downtime, which is 24 hours.

So ill count it out for you. Just for you.

Event begins, May 2nd, at 11:00 AM UTC.

This is the first day.

So…

Day 1: May 2nd, 11 AM to May 3rd, 11 AM.

24 hours.

Day 2: May 3rd, 11 AM to May 4th, 11 AM.

24 hours.

Day 3: May 4th, 11 AM to May 5th, 11 AM.

24 hours.

Day 4: May 5th, 11 AM to May 6th, 11 AM.
Day 5: May 6h, 11 AM to May 7th, 11 AM.
Day 6: May 7th, 11 AM to May 8th, 11 AM.
Day 7: May 8th, 11 AM to May 9th, 11 AM.
Day 8: May 9th, 11 AM to May 10th, 11 AM.
Day 9: May 10th, 11 AM to May 11th, 11 AM.
Day 10: May 11th, 11 AM to May 12th, 11 AM.
Day 11: May 12th, 11 AM to May 13th, 11 AM.
Day 12: May 13th, 11 AM to May 14th, 11 AM.
Day 13: May 14th, 11 AM to May 15th, 11 AM.
Day 14: May 15th, 11 AM to May 16th, 11 AM.
Day 15: May 16th, 11 AM to May 17th, 11 AM.
Day 16: May 17th, 11 AM to May 18th, 11 AM.
Day 17: May 18th, 11 AM to May 19th, 11 AM.

All of these are 24 hour periods.

And then the final day.

Day 18: May 19th, 11 AM to May 20th, 11 AM.

24 hours.

So yes, 18 days, 24 hours a day.

He mistyped i think.

CCP themselves stated that the event was going for 18 days and there were 16 rewards, so yes, you got 2 days.

The problem people had was that they didnt understand that it actually ended on the 20th, and that they didnt realize what it means when it begins at downtime on may 2nd. For the rest of us, we understood it perfectly, because we put two and two together, and more importantly, didnt want to risk it.

But for people who werent very good at deductive reasoning, and never questioned why the event didnt begin at 12:01 AM May 2nd, or didnt expect CCP to actually end the event on the day they said they would, they were mistakenly led on to believe that somehow, the event would either last a whole extra day, or end at 12 midnight.

dam man u could have made it much easier for urself

from 11 am 2nd to 11 am 20th:
https://www.timeanddate.com/date/durationresult.html?d1=2&m1=5&y1=2019&d2=20&m2=5&y2=2019&h1=11&i1=0&s1=0&h2=11&i2=0&s2=0

the 3 spare days mistake came with calculation like this.

i admit my mistake in calculation.

Its all for you, man. I care about other people. Im a nice guy.

Why not? Many many games expect it’s players to log in to claim rewards.

Event time doesn’t run from midnight to midnight, it never has and probably never will.

Eve time especially for events runs from the end of daily downtime to the start of the next downtime, it always has.

Lastly no, I didn’t claim all the prizes.

Yet you are misunderstood and often resented for it. It is a harsh world, isn’t it?

Yeah. I’m like batman. The Dark knight. Die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

But I keep trucking on. Because someone has to.

Clearly the irony of telling people to stfu on a forum where they’ve been told to direct their issues to is lost on you.

Keep up the bad faith posting and reducto et extremis arguments though, you’re fighting the good fight here and totally not coming across as a dick at all :+1:

Ive never said STFU to anyone, actually.

Infact, Ive never told anyone on this thread, ever, to stop posting. Theyre free to post whatever they want.

I still think its ridiculous to complain, but theyre free to do so.

How are my posts, in bad faith? Also, i think you mean reductio ad absurdum, which, again, i invite you to demonstrate how my posts are like that at all.

But thanks. I see you are just the same as everyone else. All complaints, no substance.

I’m not really sure how to go about this event other then I’m disappointed.

Like many, I never quite put the time in to look into the dates for the event properly, because I was busy with work . Many of the days to be honest I never made it past the Character select screen.

Now I get that to get a reward you must log in to claim, simple. And for most events I probably wouldn’t have even cared if I missed the final day or a few days, for the most part its cosmetic and just sits in some random station container until I get around to it.

What I take issue with if any, is I have always seen the anniversary event as maybe more of a thank you to the players, and a mini celebration of yet another year of Eve. Something more then the typical seasonal events " expected" from the game.

I myself have only been playing the game since early 2011, taken the odd break but have always enjoyed Eve…maybe not the stupid mistakes that have cost me ships. This in a round about way brings me to the Event. I don’t always have time to get to my computer to log in, and I believe if the final day of this event wasn’t twenty or so days worth of Sp there wouldn’t be the backlash that I perceive. This in the grand scope of Eve is a disappointment at best, for missing out. Guess what, in 20 days my characters will be there as far as skills go anyways, minus the instant gratification of the 16th boost. Eve is a game of waiting for your training que, it just is.

I understand to a degree the event is also marketing, “hey if your an omega you can get this too!”
However this is an Anniversary event. You don’t get here without a player base who sticks around year after year. Sure some of us take breaks, or get temporarily distracted by another game, but quite a few have stuck around. I don’t think there is a realistic way to implement this, but I wish there was a way to have players who are omega 1 or even 2 months before an event to have reduced log in requirements maybe. You would still have to log in to claim but maybe you can claim up to 3 days at a time or something. So if you missed a day here and there you could “catch up”. But for the sake of the programming there’s no real way for an event to differentiate between an omega who has started the day of the event or someone who has been omega for years.

This train of thought really only applies to the anniversary events that celebrate the game lasting as long as it has, not so much the seasonal events such as new years ect. . I don’t expect my thoughts to gain much ground, and I’m sure many will disagree with them.

Look guys, CCP could have done better. I’m sure they are watching this thread and maybe deciding that 18 days for 16 prizes was a bit too lean. However, a lot of the complaints on this thread come across as really, really childish. Most of them do not merit a response - indeed, the original posters seem to be annoyed when they get a response (from Solonius). We already know what CCP’s response would be - we got the rejection letter! Maybe we could try asking for a rainbow launcher and a princess fairy ship skin as consolation prizes.

Eve is a tough and unrelenting game where very small details can have huge consequences. CCP is proud of that. This “giveaway” worked the same way. The takeaway for all of us should be that next time, when we get a message saying watch out for the upcoming 17th anniversary (or whatever it may be), we should increase our situational awareness.

Acting indignant and claiming you are going to unsubscribe is cliche.
