Faulty game mechanics in Triglavian systems, or CCP suceeded in creating safe Hisec for the first time

Huh. Ill check mine again tonight, do a cap of what they look should like.

Unless Ive dreamed it again.

So, about those Werposts… :grinning:

Very expensive lesson for clueless haulers

No Skills have any effect on the Edencom/Trig Standings.

And trigs are red and attack by default.

Well then the content isn’t coded properly, especially if killing 1 EDENCOM ship makes you neutral to both Triglavian and EDENCOM.

Or did I misread that in this thread?

No, it’s correct that trigs go white after one edencom site or something else which gives you standing.

Actually you dont even need the kill.

I shot at one a couple times in a noob ship, got rekt by the Edencom fleet, and still got it.

So to be clear, a starter ship and a couple of shots followed by a ship loss only and you are golden for both factions?

The standings for both factions work in unclear way too. What, where, how, nobody at CCP seems to think a few thoughts to make such a basic thing like new mechanics of standings clear. They stay for me at -0.0 or 0.0, and that looks ridiculous, like some sort of error.

Displayed effective standings values rounds to the hundredths position for some displays (similar to true sec status for systems), so a 0.0001 value will show as 0.0 or 0.00 / -0.0001 as -0.0 or -0.00 depending on the specific coding in the display area. The interactions tab appears to drop 0s in the hundredth position in the main display; I believe agents do the same. You can check the precise base value via the EVE skillboard website.

Ahhh ok, so you got a negative standing hit for aggression but due to rounding it still shows as 0.00 standing.

Yeah, guess so. According to a friend of mine, he had a similar experience last night in the game. He was stuck in a Triglavian conquered deadend system with red Trigs and Trig gate guns. He jumped in a Corvette and tagged in on an EDENCOM kill which turned the Trig’s white.

EDIT:
It seems that EDENCOM systems won’t shoot unless at -1.00 standing and lower. If that is indeed how it works then Triglavian controlled systems should be the same.

All hail Steve.

Earth and water.
It means nothing. It’s just a token . . .

I didn’t run into those werpost yet, but on my main invasion runner, during my first invasion run I could sit on same grid with whole fleet of triangles, and they were ignoring me until I started firing at them, when I got negative. Yes they display red, but the roaming fleets didn’t seem aggressive towards me when I was at 0.0 with them (and 0.0 with edencom)

so it’s interesting how those turrets seems to have different rules of engagement from invasion roaming fleets

Yeah pretty much.

Im not even sure I received a ping for the standings loss, but I do remember logging out and in to give it a shake and after that, the standings displayed as shown yeah.

Just to let you all in. Werposts have six large disintegrators attached to them per post. Which is often why ships smaller than cruiser get obliterated.

Both Gunstars and werposts have quick lock along with most edencom and trig rats.

If you are not like by the other faction they will pod you

I’d say it’s fair gameplay for both sides. We busted our asses off to claim those systems so it’s only right that we only have access to them or those who have not done any major aggressive actions towards whatever faction. Nice stuff in those systems well worth the fight for them. And I’m glad our resources are not tainted by the hands of the unproven

I get where you are coming from, however especially for new players, this is a sudden and shocking experience to not only have your ship blown, but also be podded, upon undocking from a station or arriving at a gate. The empires and Concord at least require you to have negative standings before they kill you, not just be neutral, and even then they don’t pod you - they also tell you they are going to kill you with a nice visual alert, unlike the Trigs. It seems like a pretty significant escalation over existing NPC mechanics, particularly in high-sec systems - and several minor victory systems are high sec systems - and not very balanced. It’s literally overkill when a shuttle cannot escape a station because of an NPC sentry gun.

It is dumb for NPCs to pod players. Podding is for PVP.

It is just another example of CCP’s current philosophy: “Look, chaos! It’s a feature!”

Well, fair gameplay would be if they would have linked the standing of edencom / Triglavian to the other empire standings.
Someone who is helping an invasion force should (normally) not really be welcome at the rest. It would have been only realistic that someone who gain standing with trig, will loose standing with all other empire standings (and maybe even Concord, but this is another part).

But CCP has not done it this way. Most likely because they didnt want to mess up with too many players, and want to give everyone a chance to pick a side. But fact is, that everyone who is helping the triglavians is working against the empire factions, and under normal circumstance should loose standing with these. It is the same with everything else. If you kill Sansha ships, you loose standing with Sansha. If you kill Amarr Ships, you loose standing with Amarr. but you can kill Empire ships and not loose standing with the Empire. it was, most likely, a balance reason.

For whom? And for what?
I mean, i like this current event that is going on beside this really stupid behavior from some and this insane bad trash-talk that is going on in local (and to be honest, from what i saw so far, mostly trash-talk from Triglavian player/fanboys).

But one should be clear for everyone. No one knows what CCP is planning to do with the Triglavians. Their intention, the motivations, the future of the systems.
This could be like helping Genghis Khan on the razes, just because you find their horses so nice.

What i want to say is, you do not know what will come. In worst case these systems will become Triglavion space, and everyone who enters such a system get a 5 minute timer. After this the ship and pod are destroyed.
Or they turn against everyone and say thanks but we do not need you anymore. Everyone is suddenly deep -10 to them, and they start to take over one system after another (High-, Low- and Nullsec). And all have to work together to stop them now. (Personally my most favorite outcome )

But no matter about this invation. The mechanic with instant killing small ships and pods, even for new players or players do did not take part in the “war”, is imo a bit broken and over the edge.
CCP must be clear about the fact, that they “might” loose players with this Invasion. And one reason might be this harsh behavior of the NPCs. But it could be, that they also gain more players because of the invasion who like this.
It is a marketing decission. And i assume that they checked both sides, and found it as good enough to do it.

About the only problem I have with the current system is that there is no chart that tells you where the triglavian and Eden com minor systems are. If there was a visible spot in game where you could see these systems I believe there would be less people dying to these new gate guns
