Faulty game mechanics in Triglavian systems, or CCP suceeded in creating safe Hisec for the first time

So a big fat box with “Invasion system, are you sure?” doesn’t count as a warning in your world I suppose

You don’t get that warning when you log in and your system has been invaded.

It’s also a bit misleading compared to prior invaded system behaviors, where the invaders couldn’t lock and podkill you in the time it took a shuttle to align.

You do get it when you try do undock in invasion system though.

Sure, but it’s a bit late at that point - you’re already there, and unless you happen to have a jump clone you can pop out to, or a ship tanky enough to survive however many sentries are on your station, you are getting blapped. You didn’t choose to dock up in an invasion system, it happened after you got there, and suddenly the NPCs are playing by a whole new set of rules.

What’s the thing in the top left corner that says triglavian Invasion ya know under the auto pilot route and system info

I can understand someone losing a ship on the first attempt to undock or jump into system.
But I saw countless ships and corpses around those ships. At what point do i lose sympathy and just loot his stuff ?
I saw one with 5 ships and corpses from the same player. At what point do you say “hold on a sec wtf is going on here” and try to find info on what’s happening.

What if this is a new player, and he had no jump clones and is bound to this station? In this case, his only chance is to undock over and over again, and hope that he can get through on one try.
He is basically struck in this station. With no way out.
These players (even if there are not many) are these that are really struck.

Has any new player areas had triglavian invasions ?

Working as intended then.

Sorry to bust your bubble but you can get out in a shuttle or newbie frigate

They seem to do a fair amount of damage https://everef.net/type/54577

A decade ago, probably 98-99’, I was stuck in a system in stain, in an Iteron V loaded with what was then cheap to buy in npc nullsec, some sweet sweet mexallon, armed with an improved cloak II, for 3 days with every gate perma-camped and bubbled by local smack talking russians. You know how terrible Cryllic smack talk is in english before they invented cryllic fonts?? It may have been back before they invented Google translate, IDK but it was awful. I had PTSD for a week. I finally slipped my alt norman d in, probed down a wormhole and blew the joint. After 4 days.

Don’t tell me how new players got it rough. Nowadays, even if their stuck in system they have translate to smack local like it’s 1999 again.

They had the knowledge to be able to change Thier clone home station but then didn’t make another clone somewhere else ?

A player shouldn’t have to plan for the game changing on them overnight and rendering their station inescapable by the ship they docked with due to the actions of NPCs. Other players, like the gate camp referenced above? That’s a fact of life in EVE. Core NPC behaviors changing suddenly? Not really something folks can plan for, anticipate, or otherwise mitigate.

What did you think was going to happen when system became triglavian.

And it doesn’t happen overnight. It sometimes takes days of fighting to take a system and flip it.
You can easily see what systems are under attack and move out your stuff.

One Amar system took 5 days so your statement about being “overnight” is wrong

Also may I add that while the fighting is occuring you only need to go to one of the forward post sites in system and shoot at a edencom NPC and your standing will change and you will be neutral to trigs.

Seems like your complaining about things that have easy solutions.

Couple points of clarification:

  1. I didn’t say the change to Trig controlled happened overnight. I said the mechanics change happened overnight. Which it did - that’s how patches work.
  2. I am not objecting to the systems having effects for being Trig - I am objecting to the lack of notification to the playerbase about a change in mechanics that is significant and should have been communicated, and to the pod-kill capability of NPCs (I find that unbalanced gameplay; only PCs should podkill).

It doesn’t matter that players have since found a workaround. CCP should have explained the change in the first place as part of the patch notes for the Invasion Chapter 3 release, so that players could plan accordingly. Players should not have to look to third party reporting to explain what changed in an official patch.

So we are only talking about the first one or two systems that were taken? And not now . Ya know because people have already had a few weeks if this so should already know what’s coming?

Hmm I think the pod killing mechanic was fairly self evident after the first system fell lol.

And I disagree that only players should be able to pod kill as it’s kinda been that way for failed abyssal runs for how long ? As I don’t run abyssal runs I do not know the mechanics but I believe that’s how it works.

And yet there are still people unaware because gasp CCP has still not acknowledged that they changed NPC mechanics on Trig victory systems to include pod kill capability.

Abyssal space collapsing is not an NPC killing your pod, it’s literally space collapsing on your ship - and it was a clearly disclosed mechanic of Abyssal filament usage. You go into Abyssal space knowing you either clear it in 20 minutes or lose ship and pod alike when the pocket collapses.
