February 2020 Release - General Feedback

Hmmm…

“Previous experience - minimum 2 years in Quality Assurance”

Sadly, only 40 years of experiencing a wide range of high to low quality features in others’ games here. Ah well.

"which involved throwing darts at an ideas board mainly. "

… shouldn’t it say “throwing dots [at the] screen” there?

Red Dots everywhere.
I love how they distract the playerbase from the real problems.

Hacking a pirate relic site: click on a node: hacking window suddenly is at the top, half outside the monitor, no chance to move back, no chance to finish hack: → log out, log in, continue hacking. Surprise: no Red Dot, no new items! WOW!
Docking in the Citadel: Bing! Red Dot new items! → Manually removing Red Dots.

Now docked in the Citadel; ‘take control’, look outside → Bing! Red dot new items; manually removing Red Dots; release control → Bing! Red Dot new items; manually removing Red Dots; sidebar menues: Red Dot new items … Grrr. No more focus on the problems.

To that end, the Red Menace is working like intended.
Well done!

Ye olde TSD (triple socket disconnect) during a DED 5/10… lose a Vespa II (hey, better than losing a ship), and site despawns right after I get back in. JOY!

Noooo… nooooo… please, mister (missus?) red dot… please leave us alone.

first you implement the broken new item ping ■■■■, and now you moved the “unused skillpoints” notication from the Feed to the avatar image in top left, AND YOU CANT ■■■■■■■ TURN THAT OFF EITHER JUST LIKE THE NEW ITEM PING SH1T.

COME THE ■■■■ ON CCP WHAT THE ■■■■ ARE YOU DOING

Yeah, the new SP portrait notification is annoying as ■■■■. Just as the red dot is annoying as flying ■■■■. The UI is all ■■■■■■ up, and so are we for having to put up with it.

Well said.

I played this game off and on for over a decade never really able to “get into it” until trying out wormholes in 2015 and have been living in them since.

I’ve noticed a pretty significant decrease in wormhole activity since the implementation of citadels. Smaller / Casual wormhole corps have been evicted by the larger corporations who are generally structure bashing just for “content”

I’m a casual PVE/PVP player who tries to play a few hours a night but this update has ruined it for me for the above mentioned reasons. The ability for smaller corps to thrive in wormhole space just keeps diminishing.

The primary defense for smaller corps to defend themselves against the 10+ man fleets was to roll and isolate themselves from it or just log off. There were almost always some extra holes on a typical log in that could be dealt with or not. After this patch I’ve spent the week logging in to 4-9 extra holes per night, no desire to even deal with it and logging off. There is no control anymore, it’s just a mess of wormholes. Larger corps have the numbers to deal with these extra holes in a reasonably safe fashion, smaller ones do not. There is no desire to spend the first 30-40 minutes of every play session scouting/rolling extras in a completely unsafe manner due to the number of connections.

Larger corps already had the greater ability to rage roll / span out from their home systems given the number of players actively out there seeking. What was done with this patch was alienating smaller groups and any semblance of casual wormhole playstyle. Logging in every night to find it’s completely unsafe to do anything is just defeating. I have no desire join a larger group and zerg through WH space as that is just “not fun” to me.

I do hope this change gets rolled back and something gets implemented with a focus on enabling more players to live and thrive in wormholes. There is already too much empty WH space and this change is only going to make it worse.

New Eden has been made a better place for everyone.

That’s probably Unallocated Skill Points as they decided they would add an annoying chime and pop up notification to that also - as if we weren’t annoyed by the present additions enough

Graphics:

 Applied Capsule SKINs now persist after ejecting from a ship or clone jumping.

Default shuttle skins would be  time too.

My main focus is solo/small corp (2-3 members) in wormhole space. I used to pay for my 3 accounts with a credit-card and have just cancelled the subscriptions and will burn ISK to play until that runs out.

I’ve logged on twice in the past 10 days, before I used to spend my evenings playing EvE. In the wormhole, we no longer have the manpower to get half-way safe and have turned off the moon drill as mining the Athanor is suicide.

Running to POCOs for PI has been reduced to single trips to each and being ready to drop the cargo back into the poco when the saber lands next to you.

It’s longer fun to play in wormholes

EDIT - I also jumped into wormholes 2 months after starting EvE in 2013, I have a trader in hi-sec but everything else is wormholes - it’s just that if the 3 of us can’t create a little safe time for doing basic WH housework we cannot fund operations & will be forced out.

Beside this crap of patch with these useless (except braindead peoples) and annoying red dots and the even more annoying autosorting function (never change a running System) - wich the devs try to ignore - another little thing changed - the style of the patch notes - now all following updates and Hotfixes for a patch are discribed in an cumulative way - another annoying Change - now its harder to find what Things are changed with the latest Hotfixes - you have to scroll down all the wall of text and look after changing-dates - again that all is absolut CRAP and not user friendly

What class of wormhole system are you in ? My alt is in a class 3, and I haven’t seen a stranger in there for ages.

We have a C2 - last time I logged in there were 15 normal wormholes and 2 frigate sized.

Before that - we had 3 people online and there were 6 - we started to explore/roll them and after an hour 3 more had spawned.

LOL! Duck you bugger!

I agree with the red dot issue. This is the DUMBEST thing CCP could come up with. It is completely unnecessary. We have lived without it since EVEs inception. We certainly dont need it now.

Every time they release a patch, its like more spam is added to the game. Whatever idiot came up with this needs to be fired. Youre ■■■■ at developing your game CCP. Might want to remember that before you release more trash upon the the people that pay your wages.
