Yeah, there’s 3294 nullsec systems, compared to 1212 highsec systems, yet the population distribution is generally reversed (3:1 systems, but 1:3 people [actually less than that at about 1:5 people]).
With 30K online currently, that would suggest there’s currently around 5000-7500 people online across all of null, and most of those would be in Delve.
So that leaves large areas that are virtually empty, which is great for explorers, solo ratters, people wanting to mine away quietly, hunters, etc.
From a purely gamer perspective, I’d prefer more people online, but from a playstyles perspective, there are a lot of playstyles that benefit from near empty space and that’s ok.
We don’t want all of space to be empty, but some areas at any given time isn’t bad given how many different playstyles are in the game.
Pros and cons… I was expecting to get ganked by now. I’m looking for a route to -0.5 right now. I’ll keep on trucking until I find those rare ores and then probably get wiped out by an NPC.
Curiosity killed the cat
I am surprised.
But I should go BOOM here in a few minutes. I’m no match for Null NPCs and I want to catch a glimpse of that rare ore before they send me packing back to Low.
